General Rules

1)

Starting and Ending States:

The game starts during the Day. All roles that can communicate at Night may do during pregame. The game will end when one faction has fulfilled its win condition, unless otherwise specified.
2)

Day Procedures:

Each player may discuss the game and cast a single vote at a time against people they want to lynch. Day ends when either the deadline hits or a strict majority of the votes are on one person.
3)

Voting:

Votes should be in

in order for them to count, for instance:

Vote: Reckamonic

. If you wish to vote for a different player, you don't need to unvote. As long as we can tell who you're voting for, we don't care if you abbreviate someone's name when you vote them.

No Lynch:

As an alternative to voting for someone, you may

, but for it to take effect, enough players must vote No Lynch that it would be impossible to form any other majority.
5)

Deadlines:

Deadline will be 3 weeks.

Mass Inactivity:

In an act of pure villainy, we may shorten the deadline if we deem the activity level is unsatisfactory. You will be warned if we want you fellows to pick up the pace.

Deadline Lynches:

If no single player has enough votes for a lynch at the deadline, the result is

No Lynch

and the game proceeds to Night. Deadlines are there for a reason.

Twilight:

After someone receives the majority vote, everyone may still discuss the game, but votes and unvotes will not be considered - the person voted for by the majority will be lynched regardless. Twilight will last until we waltz in and post a death scene.

Night Length and Procedures:

The topic will be locked at Night. If your Role PM specifies that you have a Night Action, you may follow the instructions on that PM to use it. Barring extenuating circumstances, Nights will not last longer than 72 hours, but will not be shorter than 48.
10)

Night Action Resubmission:

If you have to PM a choice to the mods (i.e. the name of someone you want to kill/protect/investigate), you may change your choice at any time during the Night by sending the mod another PM with the new choice. The most recent choice will be honored.
11)

Role Overlap Policy:

In the event of overlapping and/or contradictory Night Actions (i.e. a mutual roleblock), priority is given to whoever PMs the mods with the action first. However, if two kills are submitted on the same target, the most damaging death will be the one displayed (You can slit someone's throat first, but if he got blown to smithereens no one will care about his throat...). Finally, if two vote modifying actions affect you, the lower amount takes priority.

Bolding something is how you get the mods to notice it. It's that simple.

Activity, Prods, and Replacements:

) thinks you're lurking. We reserve the right to blacklist flakers or people who maliciously replace out.

Don't discuss this game outside of this thread with anyone unless your Role PM lets you do otherwise. Note that all QTs are open to use at any time.

Modkills:

Breaking any of the above three rules (or flagrantly violating Rule 16) will result in you getting modkilled. Modkills can be retroactive. If a living player breaks any of these rules, the day may or may not end, depending on what would disadvantage that player's faction the most. A dead player breaking any of these rules will result in someone from the same faction getting modkilled. In addition, getting modkilled results in an instant loss for that player, along with our general hatred. In short, follow the rules. Note that we're not planning to keep a blacklist of people to refuse in our games, but there are two of us, so we'll remember..

As the moon starts to appear on the horizon, the citizens of Hyrule grow tired. Eager to get a good night of sleep, they try to find who could want to spread evil in this peaceful land.

Eyes dart to Skull Kid. Rumors have been circulating about him, the moon, and some crazy mask. In a streak of rage, the mob rushes towards him.

"Tee hee hee! Follow me! Follow me!" he cries. Skull Kid darts into the Lost Woods, with a whole mob of angry creatures giving chase.

"Can we keep up with him in here!?"

"Don't lose him!"

Skull Kid laughs and laughs, thinking that he's finally made new friends. "Catch me if you can!" he shouts in a playful manner…but even a child of the forest can't escape a lynch mob. Before too long he is caught, tied up and brought to a great oak.

Skull kid begins to cry, "I don't understand…" but his pleas are drowned out by the roar of the crowd. "I hate you adults!" He cries as a single tear drops to the ground before the rope snaps tight and his last breath escapes his lips. All he wanted was to help save the land and make a few friends. Instead, he found himself an eternity of loneliness.

However, the burnt verdant creature is not the only thing found dead. A few meters beside the tree lay the body of the two Gerudo witches - Kotake and Koume. They died hand-in-hand, going out the way that only sisters could.

Again, the moon begins to rise before the citizen of Hyrule can make a decision. After countless hours of deliberation, a verdict finally falls.

The townpeople slowly form a circle around the one you've agreed as a group is the most likely to be behind the trouble brewing in Hyrule.

His dark, black eyes, his red crest, his blue feathers...

Yes, together, they've establish that of all the evil forces that could remain in this land, the most dangerous one is quite obviously Cojiro the blue Cucco.

He doesn't put up any defense as a gigantic hand tightens around his neck. The second before his spine is snapped in half, he shoots a final "Cucco".

In the giant's other hand, an egg hatches in response to the call. The small cucco inside responds with a shrieking cluck. Instantly, the white fowls are upon Biggoron, attacking every inch of rocky flesh, plucking at his eyes, sinking their talons in whatever they can grab. Before anyone can do anything, the giant falls to his knees, his body covered in coutless wounds.

Of course, the chicken was a mostly innocent bystander in this complete mess. The same can be said for the gentle Giant. All he wanted to do was help everybody by giving them strange and special items.

A cold, brisk wind whisks throughout Zora's Domain as the dawn breaks on a new day. Unfortunately, the scene laid out before the group under the new day's sun is a grizzly one indeed. Evil grips the land a bit closer as it becomes clear that Zora's domain has been frozen over.

The group stands over the frozen bodies of Zora royalty - King Zora and his poor daughter, Ruto, are frozen just beneath the surface of the water. King Zora lays with his body shielding his daughter's. He has sacrificed himself to keep the denizens of Hyrule safe… however, not even gods and kings are immune to the evil that has gripped the land. A beloved princess and a beloved goddess lay on the frozen surface of Zora's Domain: Zelda and Din. The crowd mourns their fallen idols.

But not every story has such a sad ending. A bit away from the rest of the massacre, an oddly-shaped phantom creature lay, having its ectoplasm scattered around the nearby area. One of the Poe Sisters has been defeated, but the fight is not yet over.

Fingers left and right point to the young woman. Where was she during the nights? Who has she been scheming with?

Saria begins to run as fast as her legs can carry her, but before she can make it to the woods the mob is upon her and she's being carried to a large oak.

She doesn't struggle and as the rope is being tied around her neck, she begins to hum her favourite song.

As the final notes leave her crushed throat, the citizen realize the mistake they've made. How could Saria, sage of the forest, ever desire more than the safety of Hyrule?

A new day dawns. The group, tired and weary, rise from their sleep in the forest and carefully step out into the sunlight. Nearby, a tiny little voice is heard coughing and spattering.

Navi, the little fairy that could, comes slowly fluttering out of the nearby woods before dramatically falling to the ground, exerting her last ounce of energy to try and tell the group who it is that murdered her, but nobody hears. Her glimmer fades as she fades into the afterlife. Sniffles are heard from the crowd.

"We might've been a little harsh on her, but this… she didn't deserve this…"

However, the dawn is not filled with only sadness. As the group continues onwards, they find the corpse of Twinrova laying at the edge of the forest. Beyond that, in the distance, lay a jumbled heap of… something.

"What… IS… that?"

As the group rushes closer, the mound becomes clear: there are two giant, severed hands sitting next two an oddly-shaped torso with an eyeball attached to the end of it. Everyone looks around bewildered.

"That's… that's Bongo Bongo, isn't it!?"

As the group cheers, somewhere, in the distance, thunder cracks across the Hyrulian sky. The morning might be one of smiles and hugs, but time is still running out for Hyrule.

After so many days of seeking evil, the people of Hyrule are beginning to grow weary of the horrors.
Hoping for a good night sleep, they set their camp after having slaughtered Gohma.

It was not to be so.

In the middle of the night, a crackling, sickening sound is heard, like that of something being crushed out of existence. As the violently awoken group starts to look for the source of the sound, a shrill cry is heard. A strange being is screaming in pain, it's purple form convulsing in violent spasm.

You all recognize the body of Meg, a strangely familiar sight cloaked in purple flames. She slowly consumes herself before vanishing into thin air.

Not too far from her, a grotesque being lies, probably the source of the horrific sounds that awoke you. A strange organism, its body surrounded in jellyfishes, has been the victim of... something.

The town finally comes to term with the horrible reality of the situation.

Darunia was never alive and part of their group. He was killed days ago by the monstrous fiends that want to destroy the land.

As the mob approaches the one falsely knows as Darunia, his body melts into a gooey jelly. Instantly the people scatter, alarmed by what they recognize as the water monster Morpha. However, she doesn't seem to target anyone with her liquid tentacles, and instead heads slowly for the campfire. Thinking himself a genius, one of the villagers pushes the giant amoeba into the flames with a pitchfork.

The beast starts to squirm wildly, but that is not the most terrifying sight: Around the camp, multiple people are laying on the ground, mimicking the strange spasms of the monster. What could it have done to these poor souls to make them succumb to such an horrible fate? On one side, you see Impa, a horrified look in her eyes. On the other, the body of Amy slowly burns to ashes.

The few who still stand start to run for the squirming Impa when a large blue explosion envelopes everything. As the light of the blast dims, you contemplate the faded body of Nayru, killed in the commotion.

At last, the final monster plaguing Hyrule reveals herself. Volvagia circles around Link and Farore, smoke escaping her nostrils. She spits red-hot jets of flames at the hero of time, but the goddess deflects them time and time again with her magical winds. Link readies his weapon, preparing to deal the strike that will put an end to the dragon once and for all. As he takes aim with his Light Arrow, Farore releases a terrible scream.

Link turns around to see the goddess down to the floor, violet bolts of electricity running all over her body. Dark clouds begin covering the sky and before long it is pitch black.

And then the laugh resounds...

The dark, evil, wretched laugh of the greatest evil to have ever touched this land.

A dark portal opens in the ground and out of it walks Ganondorf. Link turns and releases his light arrow at the dark entity but the man deflects it effortlessly with a flick of his cape. He walk to the goddess and lifts her by her neck. As his evil laugh once again invades the plain, Ganondorf absorbs the energy of the last goddess. The triforce finally his, the land begins to warp as tides of blood invade the fields of Hyrule. A throne appears, on which the Gerudo king sits.

"You may resume," he says softly, grinning.

Volvagia launches more flames at Link who avoids them with difficulty, the power of the Goddessses now having completely abandonned him. He uses all he has, bombs, arrows, longshot. Even the mighty Megaton Hammer cannot slay the dragon anymore, its power diminished by the twisted dimension.

Link falls to his knees, his ressources emptied, his courage and will now a thing of the past. All he has left is the small, inert body of Navi the fairy, which he kept after her untimely death. He barely feels the flames of Volvagia as his body gets consumed, his mind revisiting all these places he's been, all these people he's met.

And over all of this, the maniacal laugh of Ganondorf echoes throughout the land.

To be completely honest -

We didn't expect the masons to live so long, especially when they were outed relatively early. The masons were, to be honest, INCREDIBLY powerful as a trio (and even as a duo), so having Ganondorf in there was a good way to balance it out. Of course, it didn't work out like that. I don't know why they were left alive for so long. In fact, we considered this EXACT endgame scenario when we created the role and said "But there's no way that would happen..."

Town would've won were it not for the modhammer, but at the same time, town wasn't exactly playing to perfection the whole game.

The ending might be wishy-washy, but I'd say the setup wound up being incredibly balanced, especially given the swinginess of the whole thing.

Also, we openly admit that we fudged a bit of the flavor in order to balance the game a bit more. But we tried our best to stay true to the game while also creating a fun setup.

It's one thing to have a potential mod lynch influence the game somewhat but another to not give town a way to find out that not breaking normal play to lynch the mod will drastically reduce their chances at winning.

3 masons, one PGO, one action-immunizer and one busdriver, confirmed to each other.
Something had to be done to weaken then.

The idea was that if a mason was driven up to lynch range he'd die automatically because the three of them becoming confirmed town was very very crippling to the scum (see, Poe scum never touched them because they thought the three were PGOs... seriously, 3 PGO and a reflexive CPR doc in one setup???)

Of course, if the mason decide to claim early and the scum goes all paranoid this kinda stuff was bound to happen eventually.

Also, you used the OoT at the worst possible time, so that didnt really help either (granted, you didnt know that).

Honestly, it took until after Day 4 for the town to actually lynch scum, so it's not like it was amazing play... I am moderately satisfied that scum won.

Basically, as the game went on, the Great Deku Tree could only target people from a limited range, and that range was centered around who he last addressed in a post before the day's end.
