I think there's 3 main schools of strategy for this opening round.

Popularity -> what we're currently doing
Random -> choose some random method
Optimize -> Essentially out a verifiable PR and verify them.

I like the third option and I think we should make a vig unnightkillable and direct them as a second lynch mechanic.

I'm not feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness about this game. You guys realize it's pointless to revisit this issue after half the game has been thrown out, right?

And, Vezokpiraka is gone, so my plan is useless.

Also, Thor665 is scummiest in the game so far and since we apparently are going with VP's "plan", then Nero Cain needs to go before chesskid3.

@VP - The idea was that I didn't want to early out power roles. Scum can fakeclaim or counter-claim cop to keep UNK away from town (and out cops). But no scum would fakeclaim vig and be force-directed by town.

If you don't decide to enhance the vig today with all players potential champions, then we don't bother at all.

And yes, Thor665 should be on the out-list. Near the top.

It's not a perfect plan, but it was better than either a true random pick (based on something like the stock market), or letting an uninformed majority/informed minority pick.

Having a BP Vig would give us a powerful confirmed townie. A Mason would be a good second choice. (Again, confirmability)

SK claiming Vig is an old story, but if they try to claim it early and are town-directed, then they hurt themselves in the long run.

Catching up:
AurorusVox seems to be suffering from a pretty strong case of confirmation bias against VP. However, VP's #155 does read as scummy. Overall I don't think the rest of his play has been that bad.

Internet Stranger does have a point in that the Bulletproof prize isn't a fantastic boon for a townie. It's a better boon for someone with a useful power role. So that's the dilemma. Either town PR-hunts and hurts themselves in the long run for a narrow gain, or we treat this as a meta RVS and not really worry about it because we can always re-vote the champion later on.

I'm now strongly seeing the benefit of the latter option.

@everyone: That said, the new plan isn't terribly important. Being eliminated from the Rumble isn't the same as being killed. It's inconvenient and boring for a bit, but it's not really a severe punishment. Once we're down to the final five or four (four is traditional, I guess), then we'll have a period of voting (36 hours or so) for everyone to choose who should win. If people don't post their opinion during that period then their opinion doesn't matter. Once the winner is decided, we eliminate based on that then proceed to the game.

Except about Thor, whom I'm getting some mild bad vibes from. However he's right in that both Thor and Hoppster are posting enough so that there's plenty to read and analyze from later. Might be fine. We have 2 kills flavors so far.. "Put trough table" (was likely Compulsive SK SnakePlissken's kill) and "sledgehammmered".

We also know that there is a Mafia group of the Million Dollar Corporation. Now, in the wiki-members of that stable, none are really known for their use of a sledgehammer.

So... following scenarios exist:

A) SK + 2 Mafia Groups
-- This means that the MDC hasn't gotten a night-kill yet due to RB, Doc, or Kise.

B) SK + 1 Mafia Group
-- Sledgehammer can also be a generic wrestling weapon. This would mean that MDC might have the ability to choose their own kill flavor.

I've been waffling, but after thinking about it I'm leaning more towards B. Of course, that presents a bit of a problem for GMan. If there is only 1 scum group, then the likelyhood of them having 2 roleblockers is very slim. He could have gotten blocked by a pro-town RB however.

I think that jediknight should kill tonight and we should lynch either sottyrulez or GMan.
