The 6 Realms are once again threatened by evil forces. With more and more people against the survival of these realms, the Elder Gods once again create the Mortal Kombat tournament, forcing the heroes from each realm to step forward and defend their land. 3. Don't talk in real life about the game (meaning face-to-face, off-site communication, through any Instant Messenger clients or through e-mails, etc...basically, keep all talk about this game IN this thread.)

4. No secret messages using size tags or other trickery.

5. Don't quote my PMs, fake or not. You can quote my in-thread posts.

6. Don't use personal attacks.

7. If I make a mistake, let me know.

8. I'll vote count every page, but if I slack, let me know.

9. Please use V/LA if you aren't going to post within 3 days.

10. I'll prod you if you don't post after 3 days. 3 prods and I'm replacing you. You have 48 hours to respond to a prod before I replace you. For those coming off of V/LA, you have 1 full day to post (midnight of return date until midnight of the next day, EDT) or else you will be prodded.

10a. Prod timers reset after each game day ends. However, I will respect a prod request if 2 quick game days go by without a post from the player (quick meaning less than 3 real days each).

11. You can leave the game if you wish, but don't do it jokingly.

12. Days (in Non-MK phase) use a modified mathematical formula depending on the number of players for a deadline (1 week + (x/2) days rounded up where x = # of players). Extensions are 3 days, and you can vote for them (one per pre-MK day phase).

13. I'm the mod. Whatever I say, goes.

14. I post in bolded reddish purple, so don't use it. Other colors are ok.

15. Modkills turn you into Neutral Survivor. They end the day if the modkilled player is town, they do NOT end the day if he/she is scum.

16. Play to your wincon. I'll be the judge of that, and I'm pretty reasonable on judging actions either playing to or against wincon. Voting for yourself to play towards your win-con is okay; outing scumbuddies and self-hammering for fun is not.

17. Don't post elsewhere on mafiascum about this thread, and don't quote anything from the game in your signature until the game is over IF it has to do with core game content.

18. Please play to the integrity of the game. If it's something that could be seen as a game-breaker (such as posting confirmable role PM information, explicitly quoting your role PM word-for-word, stating abilities word for word, posting screenshots, posting role PM pictures, etc.), it's seen as a modkillable offense.

Game-Specific Rules:

1. Day Phase: You use votes to choose for Mortal Kombat (Vote: DemonHybrid). A majority vote selects them for Mortal Kombat. The deadline will take the top two (or top, if one has been selected already) players as Mortal Kombatants. If there's a tie, first one in the lead is chosen. Once a person has been selected for Mortal Kombat, the votecount resets after a brief twilight.

2. You can NOT vote for a no-lynch.

3. When a player is selected for Mortal Kombat, that player may still talk and vote until the 2nd person is selected.

4. When two people are selected for Mortal Kombat, I will announce twilight.

5. Twilight Phase: I will set-up for Mortal Kombat. At this point, NO ONE may talk and the thread will be locked.

6. Mortal Kombat Phase: I will announce Mortal Kombat. At this point, ONLY the two people selected for Mortal Kombat may talk. If anyone else talks, they will be warned; three warnings will result in a modkill. I will be strict about this. Warnings do NOT go away after each day phase.
6a. Voting in Mortal Kombat Phase: Everyone BUT the two people selected for Mortal Kombat may vote for one of the two Kombatants for lynch by posting the following and only in the following format:

Choose: *name*

Nothing more, nothing less. They may unvote by using the following:

Mercy: *name*

Again, nothing more, nothing less.

6b. Deadline for MK phase is the following: x/3 days rounded up, where x = the number of players (minimum of 3 days). There will be no extensions. If the deadline is hit, the person in the lead will be lynched. If the players are tied, the first one in the lead dies.

6c. The game will end if two players are chosen for Mortal Kombat and, no matter the outcome, scum will win (for example, if there are 3 players left (1 town, 1 town, 1 scum) and both townies are chosen, the game will automatically end in a scum win).

6d. Due to a high-pressure, strict deadline, there will be NO prodding or taking V/LA into account with the Mortal Kombat phase. If one or both Kombatants are not around to Kombat or a player is not around to vote, that's the nature of the beast. If you want to ensure your survival (or ensure someone's chance to speak/vote in the MK phase), please keep all V/LAs and lurking behavior in mind before choosing a Kombatant.

7. Night Phase: Continues as normal.

All night actions will be resolved using Natural Action Resolution.

If by some chance there are two roleblockers regardless of faction and one roleblocker affects the other roleblocker's job for that night, I will randomize which roleblocker gets priority.

This game is guaranteed to have NO jesters, cults or survivors (or any modified form of either).

Since the events of Armageddon and the prevention of the world's end, some Kombatants opted for peace. However, a threat of evil has once again risen to challenge the 6 realms' safety and stability. Once again, the Elder Gods appear to the Mortals one by one. They speak in an ethereal tone.

They once appeared to you, telling you of the dangers that lay ahead, and the mandatory participation in the Mortal Kombat tournament that is in your near future. You set off to defend your realm...or take them over. Visiting the original island where the first Mortal Kombat tournament took place, you decide to walk, looking for suitable opponents to test your skills on.

As you walk by one of the nefarious Pits, you can't help but to think of all of the battles that took place here. The bones that lay pierced on the spikes below are a testament to those stories. However, your serene walk is interrupted by a figure in the distance...

As you step along the bridge over the Pit, you notice a figure silhouetted against the door ahead of you. That person speaks out in a stern voice as that person walks towards you.

"...Palisade."

You stand frozen at the sound of your name. You feel that this is what you've been looking for.

"Yes."

The silhouetted person stands in front of you.

"I had a feeling that you'd show up here. The Elder Gods also summoned me to the Mortal Kombat tournament; did they not come to you as well?"

"They did. I'm looking for worthy Kombatants to test my skills. It's been a while."

"Then this is the perfect place."

You watch as the silhouetted Kombatant squats into a fighting stance. You do the same; however, you can't quite make out who your opponent is. You realize that this person can't see your true intentions; you cannot see theirs. You can't really think straight; after all, it's been quite a few months since your last battle. You're not sure whether to feel extreme evil and hatred or great peace and reserve, but you put yourself at the ready regardless.

That person finally walks out in front of the light and you finally see their face.

The vote count has been reset!

Unfortunately, I have decided that there has to be a modkill. Kise posted his role PM picture resolution in thread. Posting confirmable information from your role PM is not -explicitly- stated in the rules, but it skims Rule #5. It's something that can be crosschecked and, in the case of a claim, is something that can be confirmed with research. As well, redacting it may give away information, so I'm in between a rock and a hard place and the integrity of the game is risked. I personally talked to him and it was completely understood between the both of us, and he is invited back to any games I hold in the future.

I am also implementing a new rule to make sure this is clearly understood.

You two start to fight. She quickly overwhelms you with kicks and fireballs. As you back away, she levitates, and you can't believe your eyes. You quickly jump and kick her out of the air. This only enrages her further; she flies right into you, nearly knocking you off.

As you escape her clutches, you turn around and pose in a fighting stance...but you notice that she starts to suck in air. She's getting ready to shriek at you. You take the chance to sweep her. She loses her balance and falls off the bridge into the spikes below. As she falls, you hear a scream that could wake the dead. It gives you a headache and makes your ears bleed, even from a long distance, but soon enough, it stops. You look down.

She just became another victim of the infamous Pit spikes.

The battle wears you out. As you look down at her pierced body, you become even more determined to do what you set out to do, whether for evil or for good. You pick up your things and open the door towards Shang Tsung's old courtyard...perhaps tomorrow, you can find some fighters there practicing.

FLAVORAs you and the rest of the competitors arrive in the courtyard to do battle, everyone notices a man they've never seen before in Shang Tsung's chair. He speaks in an ethereal tone.

"Welcome to the Mortal Kombat tournament. This tournament once again decides the fate of the 6 realms, and you must do battle with the denizens of each realm in order to pursue your goals."

As the explanation goes on, everyone else looks around and notices that a former competitor, Fate, is nowhere to be seen.

Everyone snaps back into reality when the man in the chair starts to call out competitors' names for the first round.

Fate has gone missing Night 1!

As the sea of Kombatants turned on WeyounsLastClone, they picked him up, crowd-surfed him over the monks' heads, and onto the bridge in the middle of the courtyard. He stands up with a solid look of fear on his face. The strange man eyes down WeyounsLastClone.

"Hmmmmm.....alright. The first fight, since everyone is so eager to see, will feature WeyounsLastClone."

He hangs his head down and shakes it, then poses in a ready stance.

FLAVORAs the two combatants fought, Amrun immediately pounced on top of WeyounsLastClone, pounding on his head. She waits for him to get up, and then sidekicks him against the wall. He coughs up blood.

"...The Black Dragon will not stand for this!"

WeyounsLastClone revealed himself to be none other than Kira, the ruthless Afghanistan illegal weapons dealer. She has trained mercilessly in the art of Mortal Kombat to join the Black Dragon, and since doing so, she's been honing her skills. But she seemed no match for the very strong Amrun.

Suddenly, she takes out her butterfly knives, only to be quickly disarmed by Amrun. Amrun catches them in midair, and stabs Kira in her stomach.

She lets out a gasp of pain and falls to the ground.

The mysterious man leading the tournament speaks. "Great job....that's what I like to see."

....now FINISH HER."

"Gladly."

Amrun takes a butterfly knife. Kira tries to speak, but nothing but a pained whisper comes out. Amrun slices her neck open, bleeding Kira out onto the courtyard bridge.

"Fantastic...great job."

Amrun brushes the blood off of her and jumps back into the crowd of Kombatants.

"I want you all to retreat until the morning. However, feel free to roam around, get to know the island. That is all."

As Kira's body is thrown into a man-made sand pit, everyone wonders what surprises could be around the corner. That man seems very strange...everyone decides to be on their guard for the night.

FLAVORAs the night went on, Ermac decided to go back to his home realm of Outworld to do some soul searching in preparation of the tournament to come. He opens up a portal and steps through, ending up near the infamous Hell's Foundry.

Back at the island, the man running the tournament walked by, seeing the portal that was opened up. He had a plan.

Cunningly, he told the rest of the Kombatants at their next meeting that the next fight of the tournament was through that portal. As they stepped through, he sealed it shut, laughed at himself, and decided to let Outworld decide their fate.

Days later, while Ermac sat there meditating and recalling times when he was but merely a slave to evil, a fighter crept up from behind him. He stood up, and suddenly was attacked from behind. As he tried to regain his composure, he decided to turn around. A giant blaze of fire was the last thing he saw.

Liu Kang, the first man to reach the Foundry and the most determined to win Mortal Kombat, found Ermac lying on the floor, burnt to a crisp. He felt relieved until he remembered his recent strive to do good. In sorrow at losing an ally, he turned to leave, only to black out himself.

The rest of the fighters arrived hours later. Ermac still lay there on the floor, his body now attracting flies; but he wasn't the only one. The once strong and willfull Liu Kang laid on the floor, face down, without a head. His neck look like someone had bitten at it.

The hope of the Kombatants had dwindled immensely at the sight of their new surroundings and now the death of their strongest ally. A fight breaks out.

FLAVOREmotions ran high as Ghostwriter quickly picked a fight with another fighter. He pushed the other fighter out next to a giant metal press and went into a ready stance. FLAVORAs the two fought, Palisade fed off of the confusion, energy and passion of the watching Kombatants. After every kick and punch, he found himself filled with an adrenaline-filled rage. Ghostwriter was pushed back and back, farther near the metal press, and in a last ditch effort...

....he took out his hammer and tossed it at Palisade. Palisade ducked out of the way easily, and then kicked him into the molten metal.

Shao Kahn writhed around in a burning pain.

The press slams down with a vengeance, smashing him into the molten metal. His skull-modeled helmet crushes along with the rest of his body.

All of the Kombatants feel a breath of relief...the tyrant known as Shao Kahn is no more. They feel that Liu Kang's death has not been for nothing...however, this does not change the fact that they are stuck in Outworld. They decide to split up for the night to find a portal back to Earthrealm, still feeling nothing but danger in the crazy world around them.

FLAVORRaiden steps out of the Foundry and walks his own path. He came down from the Heavens as a participant of Mortal Kombat by his own will and his love of Earthrealm. However, he's been having many doubts about the integrity of all of the races of the 6 realms.

As he walks through the Living Forest, a figure steps out from behind a tree. This figure speaks in a solemn tone. "It was a mistake coming down here, Thunder God."

"And who are you to say?"

"Who I am isn't important. Your demise is."

Suddenly, shurikens came flying towards Raiden at lightning-fast speeds. Before he could react, he was pierced in 10 places. The figure disappeared just as quick as it came.

A weakened Raiden crawled on the ground towards the edge of the forest. In a faint glimmer of hope, he found a person standing next to a grassy plot. He crawled up to the person and asked them for help. "Get the other Kombatants...please. They can't fight this threat without me."

The person jabbed their hand into Raiden's chest and took out his heart. Raiden's last thoughts turned to the demise of Liu Kang and Shao Kahn, and how the fate of the realms were left up to less stronger Kombatants, but more pure of heart. He departed this world, not in permanent death, but until the realms allowed his presence once again.

Hours later, the Kombatants found their way into the Living Forest, finding Raiden's still bleeding heart next to his hat, and his clothes pierced with bloody shurikens.

FLAVORAs Raiden's bloodstained clothes dissipated in a small bolt of lightning, the Kombatants become outraged. A few fights break out between many different people, but people soon turn on one Kombatant: Oversoul. He is pushed up against a tree, which goes to nibble at his shoulder. He breaks away and swipes back at the tree. They look hungry.

That look of panic on Oversoul's face seals the deal for the Kombatants. They push him onto the dirt path and chant for another Kombatant to go and take care of him.

Another person steps forward from the crowd. Oversoul readies himself.

FLAVOROversoul and Palisade fought for what seemed like hours. After a brief struggle between the two, Palisade was backed up against a tree. They both had numerous cuts and bruises on their body from their fight. Palisade had lost a few fingers, a foot and an eye in the ensuing scuffle but pressed on regardless. Now he had nowhere to go.

Suddenly, he had an idea. He poofed up into a cloud of smoke, leaving Oversoul completely clueless as to where he was. Palisade reappeared behind him, but before Palisade can finish Oversoul off...

...the tree behind him grabbed him and started eating him. He had reappeared, away from one tree and in front of another. The tree, hungry for flesh over the course of many millennia, feasted upon Palisade, first starting with his silky flowing grey hair, followed by his head and including his mask, and then the rest of the upper half of his body.

Oversoul sat down after his completely exhausting and overwhelming fight to rest. The other Kombatants looked at Smoke's discarded body on the ground in horror. They realized Palisade's death was for naught; the mysterious and good-natured Lin Kuei warrior Smoke had been torn apart in the scuffle.

Once again breaking apart into individual paths, they decided to split up to try to find a way out of this horrid world.

FLAVORAfter travelling for what seemed like days, Kitana was desperate to find out more about herself. After the death of who she thought was her father, Shao Kahn, she started to have doubts about her origins. After leaving the Living Forest, she travelled until she found a portal; a swirling fiery abyss that lead to an unknown area. Perhaps this was the answer that she was looking for.

As she stepped closer to the portal, a person stepped through. This person saw the surprised look on Kitana's face and noticed that she was not from the area. Deciding that this intruder needed to die, the Kombatant readied themself. Kitana did the same.

The fight didn't last long. The unknown assailant overpowered Kitana quickly and without a sweat. As Kitana laid on the ground, she thought about her lingering feelings for Liu Kang, her unknown past, and a feeling of failure. The assailant turned around and burnt Kitana to a crisp.

Elsewhere, Sonya Blade was tired of having to deal with this otherworldly bullshit. She ran across the plains of Outworld, looking for her superior, her mortal enemy, or both; she was looking for SOME sort of familiarity. As she ran across the plains, she came across Kitana's body and the fiery portal next to it. She wondered if the person who murdered Kitana ran into the portal, but before she could react, a Kombatant leaped out of nowhere, grabbed her neck, and ripped it off at the base. The assassin devoured it and ran off, leaving Sonya Blade headless and running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. The other Kombatants arrived just in time to see Sonya's last moments as she fell onto the ground, in line with Kitana's body.

The Kombatants realized that this mysterious portal must be the key to these murders. They ran inside...

...and found themselves in Hell.

Lava filled both chasms on each side of the path they stood on. Skulls lined up the stone-textured pillars.

Everyone had a bad feeling about this. One person became unruly and started looking for a fight after seeing the place that they were trapped in.

FLAVORCSL and Nero Cain fought out of frustration. As they fought, the rest of the Kombatants stood back and watched intently.

After some broken bones, lacerations, close calls with the lava and body blows, both fighters seemed worn down and barely had any strength. Nero Cain, however, managed to push CSL down next to the river of lava. His hair caught on fire and he managed to put it out, but it served as just enough of a distraction to finish CSL off.

Nero pushed him out into the lava. His head dunked underneath, and he brought it up immediately, showcasing burnt and flaky skin. His screams echoed off of the cavern walls, but Nero Cain kicked his head down once more into the lava, lighting his body on fire and extinguishing his life.

As the fight finished, a portal opened. Since there was no way off of the island of sorrow, they had no choice but to walk through it.

Nearby, CSL's body dropped the sword he was holding. His body slipped into the river of lava and disintegrated. A life-long journey of redemption has finally come to an end.

FLAVORAs the portal dispersed people, it was clear that the portal wasn't linear...it dispersed people all around the place. Namely, New York City in Earthrealm.

Kung Lao was the first through the portal. He had been dispersed in the Bronx, in a decrepit part of town. As he walked through the eerie streets, a person blocked his path.

"...so, it's you. My ancestors wouldn't like it very much if you kept on living."

The person just sneered back at him. "Your ancestors were nothing but fools. Now come here and accept your timely death."

Kung Lao ran toward the person, but the person was just too overwhelmingly powerful. After a counterattack, Kung Lao laid bleeding on the ground.

"...what do you want from us?"

The person laughed and shook their head. "You should know by now that at this point...it's really just for the thrill."

The person picked Kung Lao up, summoned a bed of spikes, and threw him into it, piercing vital organs. Kung Lao was killed almost instantly.

Kano wasn't too far behind coming in through the portal. He had enjoyed his time over the past few days, watching others get into fights, feeling the rush of adrenaline with each kill. He materialized in Central Park, where a figure waited for him.

"Haha...aye, so another one'a ya mates want to have a go at it, ey? Well, this assassination is on tha house. No chahge."

The figure just shook their head, rushed toward Kano and massacred him. In his daze, Kano stumbled backwards against a tree. "You ain't neva gonna kill off tha Black Dragon, ya bloody idiot. Buggah off."

The figure just shrugged, and tossed shuriken after shuriken towards Kano, piercing him in multiple places.

Everyone else ended up meeting in the Subway area. A few were thrown there by the portal, but one by one, many of the Kombatants showed up. A sea of spectators watched on as frustrations flared up at the two Kombatants missing from the fray. Two more Kombatants went at it next to the subway station.

FlavorAs the crowd gathered to watch two of the Kombatants pitted against each other, everyone noticed that the trains have not stopped moving...

Nero Cain and Darox lunged at each other, breaking various benches and knocking over garbage cans. Many people fled, but a few were fixated on the unimaginable sight in front of them. Even the city cops did nothing to disturb the fight in front of them; they were nowhere near as strong as these warriors.

Someone was going to die, right there and then.

It is now Mortal Kombat 6!

You guys know the drill; everyone but Nero Cain and Darox must only choose and never talk.

FLAVORAs onlookers watched Darox and Nero Cain fight, they tried to move out out of the way, only for some of them to be slammed into walls and thrown onto the tracks. After a long battle, Darox managed to get the upper hand and grab Nero Cain by the neck, holding him over the train tracks.

A loud noise can be heard throughout the whole subway.

"Hey, Jarek."

"YOU CAN'T DO THIS. LET ME DOWN."

"Shhh...shh. There's the light at the end of the tunnel. Only you probably won't like what you find."

Jarek was dropped onto the train tracks as the L train barreled down and crushed him. Body parts went flying and he was no more.

The Kombatants decide to walk towards the ruins of Shao Kahn's old palace. Maybe they can find more clues on the way there. They, once again, decide to split up as frustrated subway cleaners try to get Jarek's blood off of the walls.

FLAVORThe Kombatants once again split up on the way to Shao Kahn's decrepit palace. On the way, Amrun decided to take a detour to get away from the crowds; no one would be happy to see a lone cyborg walk the streets of Manhattan. As she walked, a figure appeared at the end of an alleyway. She prepared herself for battle.

Before she could even move, however, she blacked out and dropped dead. Her head was devoured by the figure, as the figure thought "Mmmmm...metal outsides, but a creamy brain center. I want to find more of these cyborgs."

Meanwhile, Taven, bewildered by this new word, walked alongside the trees of central park. After seeing the body of Kano tagged against a tree, he wondered if he was going to be next.

And then he laughed. Who could even hurt someone of his power? He's an Edenian god.

However, he felt like he spoke too soon. A figure walked from behind a building and challenged him to a fight. Taven accepted.

The two of them fought, but the figure outsmarted and outmatched him just barely. After knocking Taven down, the figure burnt him to a crisp; a testament to the falseness of the Gods' declaration of power, and an insult to the fire-controlling Taven.

9 more Kombatants were left, standing on the street near Shao Kahn's palace. The sight of more Kombatants missing enraged two Kombatants, once again, and they rushed to meet each other in battle in the middle of night's blackness.

FLAVORInternet Stranger, one of the Kombatants, got a jump on the other Kombatant, throwing them into a dumpster. The other leaped back on top of him; the fight escalated to kicking and punching, as both Kombatants' blood were spilled onto the pavement. The rest of the Kombatants stared in awe as the looming Palace stood in front of them; they could only hope that all of them would live by the time they went inside.

FLAVORAs the two Kombatants fought, Bogre was backed up against the wall. Internet Stranger crept up towards him. Bogre tried to get away...

...but couldn't. Someone was holding him from behind. Bogre looked behind him. It was....Intemet Stranger?! How could there be two Internet Strangers?

As Internet Stranger and his copy started punishing Bogre, everyone saw how unfair this fight was. Two Internet Strangers.

They ran up and pulled IS off of Bogre. They beat him to a pulp, banishing his copy back into the shadowy realm in which he came from. They knocked him out and threw him into the street, where a Mack truck was barreling down at 60 miles per hour.

Internet Stranger spoke in an eerie growl. "YOU ALL WILL DIE AND I WILL LAUGH FROM HELL."

That's all he could get out before the rest of the Kombatants were splattered with black blood. Bogre brushed himself off and wiped away his blood. Everyone hurried inside before another interruption could happen.

FLAVORAs the Kombatants climbed the tower, they noticed the stairwell split many ways. Many of the Kombatants decided to split. One Kombatant decided to go his own way.

Kenshi was used to doing things on his own. Though he lost his sight ages ago, he's had senses greater than any of the other Kombatants to the point where sight was trivial. As he adjusted his blindfold, he walked up to the top of the stairs and found a Kombatant waiting for him. Sensing the breathing and smell coming from the Kombatant, he readied himself.

"I will not surrender this world to you. You have no clue who you're messing with."

"But I do. Your arrogance has gotten the better of you, Kenshi."

The two fought at the stop of the stairs, but Kenshi was still bested. Stunned and bloodied, he reached around for his katana.

"You've bested many Kombatants to get here. But there's still one adversary that no one has overcome."

The Kombatant pushed Kenshi down the stairs, where a bed of spikes was waiting for him.

"Gravity."

The other Kombatants rushed to the top of the stairs where they found Kenshi missing. No matter; the man from earlier was standing at the edge of the platform in Shao Kahn's self-made Earthrealm palace.

"Oh. Some of you have survived, I see."

"Enough of this. Tell us who you are before we end your life."

"Well, well. Aren't we feeling a little aggressive? Here, why don't you take your anger out on yourselves?"

The man waved his hand, and two Kombatants became enraged at each other. They started fighting in the middle of the area.

FLAVORkiwieagle and Darox fought in a rage. However, as the two Kombatants neared the balcony, Darox was clearly cornered. Darox roundhouse kicked kiwieagle, spinning him around. He turned back to see..

...Liu Kang?

"You can't kill me! I've been alive this whole time, trying to fight this man off! Please, you have to believe me!"

kiwieagle, stunned from the battle, didn't know whether to believe him or not or if he even cared. Just then, Liu Kang delievered another kick. He turned into Kitana. And then Shujinko. And then Kenshi. And then Sonya Blade. The other Kombatants didn't know what to make of this. All of these Kombatants had perished on the way here, how could they be appearing?

kiwieagle was overwhelmed. He turned into Sindel to blast him with a fireball, and then Cyrax to hit him with a grenade. He turned into Raiden to shock him with a thunderbolt. kiwi was just about finished when he was standing in front of the balcony. Darox, as Raiden, shot at him with a Lightning Torpedo.

kiwi passed out before Darox could connect. Darox flew out the window and to his death.

The remaining Kombatants looked out of the window and down onto the ground. The corpse of Shang Tsung lie there in bloody pieces. They all turn around to see the man escaping through another portal. They managed to rush through as kiwi picked himself up and limped his way through the portal himself.

FLAVORAs everyone went through the portal, they noticed they were in the local cathedral. The old Mortal Kombat symbol lay in the stained glass. Everyone went through, accounted for. They decided to split up to find the man that was responsible for all of this.

Scorpion couldn't really care less. Though the fate of the realms were at stake, he simply felt no remorse except to kill those who ended his family's lives. The past few nights, he was hard at work trying to make that a reality but he hasn't quite hit the mark yet. He turned a corner.

He found a figure waiting for him.

"You. You're a fool if you think you can finally finish me."

A low growl came in response. "It's been a while since it was one on one like this, Scorpion."

They fought, but the figure got the best of him. The figure took a swipe, stunning Scorpion. Then the figure jumped onto his back and ate his head clean off. Fire spewed out of the wound, as Scorpion flailed around. The figure spit out the head. It was just a skull, and the figure didn't even flay the skin off.

"How disappointing of a meal. I want more."

Everyone met back into the main room of the cathedral with the exception of Scorpion. Suddenly, two Kombatants started glowing that familiar green as they became mind controlled.

FLAVORAs Bogre and kiwieagle fought, the man appeared above them, taunting. "You guys think you can save the realms? Look at the pitiful bunch of you!" kiwi throws Bogre into a bunch of candlesticks, knocking them over and lighting one of the curtains on fire. A misguided projectile knocks down a pillar, as the cathedral starts to crumble. The Kombatants only have a certain amount of time before the cathedral crumbles on them, but the man's mind control still makes them fight.

FLAVORBogre and kiwieagle fought tremendously, but Bogre got the better of kiwi. After being thrown to the other side of the room, kiwi seemed visibly shaken; bits and pieces of the ceiling started to crumble. As the remaining four Kombatants left, kiwi struggled to get to his feet, but it was too late; the cathedral, burning and crumbling, fell on top of him. In a last ditch effort, a gust of wind blew through the rubble as the remaining Kombatants watched. It blew the rubble off of kiwi's dead body, and then all was still. The Kombatants stood in the graveyard outside, not responding, watching the apocalypse that just befell them.

kiwieagle's dead body lay there. His silky white hair matted to the side of his head with blood; one of his glowing white eyes was crushed, and the rest of his body was bloodied. A third god had fallen.

The man reappeared and, after casting a spell, the consciousnesses of the Kombatants were lost. Their world spiraled into darkness.

FLAVORAs everyone woke up in the Graveyard, they looked around. Three Kombatants left.

They looked over to the side, at Pine. His head was missing. Probably for the better, since his mask was ripped off in the fray.

They looked over at the Cathedral. The ruins still lay there.

A constant soulnado left over from Shao Kahn's last attempt to take over Earthrealm lay in the middle of the Graveyard.

The three Kombatants looked at each other. They had no choice but to fight each other.

The man laughed as he levitated above the area. "Hahaha...now this is what I like to see. Mortal Kombat, in all it's primitive glory.

Now...FIGHT."

Something happened...

FLAVORAs the three stood their ground in a mexican standoff, Oversoul and Bogre decided to take the first moves. The man floated above the area. The assassin had to die before the man was to be taken care of.

Oversoul and Bogre fought as Toogeloo sat and watched. After Bogre was thrown against a headstone, Oversoul tried to finish him off, only to be countered against the rubble of the church. Projectiles flew back and forth.

A grenade was thrown towards Bogre. He dodges it.

A flaming skull is sent back towards Oversoul who nearly dodges it. Oversoul counters and hits Bogre with his flashlight.

"YOU'RE GOING DOWN, PUNK! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS!"

Kurtis Stryker, one of the only humans left on the planet, spins Bogre around with another blow from his flashlight. He takes out his taser and tases Bogre underneath the chin. Then he takes out his police issued pistol and shoots Bogre upside through the head.

"Enough of this, Shinnok. Some of the mightiest warriors have gone down, but you can't stop human ingenuity. I'm going to take you in, and by that, I mean shoot the shit out of you."

Shinnok floats to the ground.

"That's all fine and well, Kurtis, but you forgot the one main rule of fighting.

Always watch your back."

Toogeloo drops his invisibility cloak and shoves a claw through Stryker's midsection. He yells in pain as Reptile spins him around, opens up his mouth, and pukes down his throat. The burning, acidic slime coerces through Stryker's digestive system and into his bloodstream. He pukes some of it back up, however, it was too late for him. Reptile jumps onto his shoulders and pukes on him, bathing him with acid. His skin burns off as he crumples to the ground.

Reptile walks up to Shinnok.

"Where'ssssss my part of the deal?"

"Ah...yes. You can have Outworld. I'm sure the Zaterran people would be thrilled. I have plans for this realm."

They depart from each other.

Years later, Reptile leads his bloodthirsty Zaterran people across the wastelands of Outworld. His people were back and none of the other races were powerful enough to stop them. With the death of his master and Shang Tsung, his assistant, nothing could stop him from overtaking the world. It works out perfectly. One realm of his own, blessed people, and another realm of tortured souls. What could go wrong?

Thoughts:

-This is a case where killing someone due to meta is NOT a good idea.

Lets look at what the mafia had:

Ninja
Strongman
Godfather
Janitor
Goon
Goon

Ninja tells them that there is (or is a likely chance) a watcher or tracker.
Strongman tells them that there is a protective role.
Godfather tells them that there is a cop.
Janitor gives them utility.

If someone is told that they are EXTREMELY town and you get a power role read on another player that is not seen as town, why would you take the chance without using the ninja? The night one kill sacrificed TWO of their members and I thought scum was done for after that first kill.

-IS being only an odd night killer was to ensure that he blended in. With the watchers and trackers, it gave him some leeway if he were to be investigated. It's a shame that he was so antagonistic this game; he made it quite far and didn't use the MK phases to his advantage. Plus, Fonz's targets were...eh. He could have piggybacked on that a bit smoother.

-The Kise modkill.

Okay, I don't know what the fascination is with trying to break the system, but this teaches me (and, to be fair, it's my fault for including them) to NOT use pictures. I understand Kise was drunk at that point in time, and it was amicable, but people were discussing pictures after the fact, dancing the line. It's something that really put me off. When you have role PM information, you need to paraphrase it, not give exact details. A few people danced the line this game. Stop it, it's stressful to the mod.

-Toog's play was fantastic. He blended just enough lurking with enough play. I think people overstated the screwup that he made in the last few pages, not realizing that if he was a townie, he would have probably done the same thing (not put himself into the ring).

-Speaking of the ring system, it seemed to not be used effectively by anyone in this game. It was meant to not only give extra time but for scum to manipulate the wagons and for town to put another person on the lynch burner for the day. A win win situation, but we had people throwing confirmed townies into the ring and blatantly hopping onto wagons. Probably not a mechanic that I'll explore in the future.

-Not that it matters, but I'm not sure why more care wasn't put into the Sub Zero fake claim and why the Johnny Cage fakeclaim wasn't used. Just a small note.

Scum did well, but altogether, there was a lot of weird play this game from both sides. Discuss.
