It was your normal Southern Italian town, 12 people living in harmony in the middle of the peaceful countryside, drinking the local wine, eating pasta and pizza, and spending all day conversing peacefully with your neighbours. La dolce vita.

That was until, the Mafia came to this harmonious little town and shattered the tranquil lives of the normal residants. Formally trusted neighbours now could be planning to murder you. The town had never know anything like this happening to them. They were dealing with killers. So, they had no choice but to barricade everyone in the small Town Hall, and once a day lynch the most suspicious of their number to try and weed out the killers. It was now the Mafia or the innocent townsfolk. Which one will triumph?

It was a picture postcard scene. The sun was slowly sinking into the Earth, slowly turning into a crimson bulb that disappeared beneath Monte Pollino, which had all day towered over the tiny ancient village of Mattacini. It had been a day of arguments as heated as that now setting sun. There had been several targets of discussion, most of the arguments against various people died. But a few stuck like mud to an old stone wall. As the day ended, one of the more elderly residents became more and more nervous as his name was mentioned more and more frequently. And as the town gradually started to agree on this one target, and started moving in on him, he tried to get away from the bloodthirsty mob, but they were backing him into a corner. , who felt his breath become short, his chest ache and a sharp pain running up and down his arm. Before he knew what was happening, he collapsed onto the floor, and succumbed to a heart attack.

After recovering from the shock of what had happened, you rushed over to search/pilfer Skitzer's belongings. You find a few needles, some sneakers and a baseball bat. And the majority of you realise that you had pressured one of your own to their grave.

Another day dawns in Mattacini, the sun beams gloriously over the mountains and shines on the villages aged stone walls and houses.

Inside the town hall, various citizens rise slowly to meet the new day, one-by-one, they climb out of their sleeping bags and makeshift beds. The first task of the day is to do a head count. "two, four, six, eight, nine", and at nine it stops. Two of you were slain last night.

You creep nervously to the first of you that hasn't, and never will, waken again. You find

After the discovery of the two bodies this morning, discussion has been getting very heated, with plenty of targets for discussion, though no-one has been the target of the majority of the town yet.

Though all discussion is stopped suddenly when the quietest member of the town suddenly keels over and dies. Another heart attack victim. At this rate these will kill the town off before the Mafia get close.

I hadn't found a replacement for a week, nobody had replied at all, I had given up hope of someone replying after a week after my numerous advertisements for it, I was sick of the dead weight (this game has had enough of those), and cicero had asked me numerous times to modkill Theo, and I decided to finally follow his advice, since he had asked so many times, and I didn't want to find yet another replacement. So that's why I modkilled Theo.

After getting over the joy of finding one of the evil killers dead in the morning, Mattacini settled into its second day of finding the Mafia that had infiltrated their quiet town. Quite quickly, the town started to debate between two of their number, two of the more vocal members of the town. Both argued furiously against their possible impending demises. As the sun started to set, one of the two, eerily like yesterday, snapped under the pressure. But rather than let nature (and the lynch mob) take it's course, he decided to pull a pistol out of his pocket and end it himself.

Just like yesterday, the town were left stunned by the sudden end to the day. But they soon got over that...

...especially when they discovered that the day ended like it started, with a dead scum lying in front of them.

Soon after waking up, cicero points the accusatory finger at ChocolateAttack, convinced he is the last of the town's killers. After looking at the evidence, CA disagrees and concludes that his accuser is infact the remaining evildoer. cicero dramatically pulls out a stethoscope and various medical drugs from his backpack and claims he is the town doctor. CA responds by claiming that he can hypnotise people so they stay asleep all night. He says he can prove this by stopping the vig from killing him tonight...

A short debate later and the inevitable is quickened, with ChocolateAttack dead hanging from a noose.

The remaining living residents all rush out of the town hall. They and the town of Mattacini is safe to live in again.

: If the Backup became a Doctor, he could only successfully protect townies or scum. Any protect attempts on poweroles would have been ineffective.

If the Backup became a Cop, there would have been a 33% chance of the person the backup was trying to investigate would have woken up while the backup was there, forcing the backup to flee and the investigation to fail. Also, if an investigation on a scum had failed, the scum would have identified the backup.

This was my first modded game, so any comments, suggestions and criticism's are very welcome.

You were a very hard working mod and you really rode this out through endless personnel challenges. Good job. My only suggestion is just that my personal preference is actually against In post Mod Edits. It's a matter of taste. Some people really like it because it gives them info on each page. I dont because I dont tend to go back and read the last few pages/posts once Im done with them but most importantly because if you do it in your own posts then I can use the drop down menu to look at a history of the votes. Obviously the vote distiller lets me do this too but it is apparently going off line soon because no one has a server to host it. So again that's my personal preference.

The other thing worth discussing is the universal backup. It was a very interesting idea. Did you make it up yourself? It added an interesting weirdness to the game for both sides. On the one hand it led directly to skitzers death. Noobs didnt know how to deal with it. Then after the flavor of the death scene pocket contents gave town a road map to combat false claims. All in all I liked it but it definitely threw everyone for a loop. I dont know what the normal course is for weird roles in a mini though.

Anyway, overall the game was great. I liked your design a lot and your modding. You deserve kudos for making and maintaining a hell of a fun playground. So thanks!

I've always prefered top of the page vote counts pretty much for the reasons HH said, it's easier to keep up with the game, and I don't have to search for the last votecount, since it's just at the top of the page, so it's convenient as well.

As for the Backup, that was sort of my own creation, I saw other ordinary backup roles and decided to add a twist to it. The funny thing is, I didn't actually intend to reveal his specific possesions upon death, only a vague "you find various tools that are suited to a lot of different jobs", and when I realised what I'd done, I thought "Oh ****! What have I done?!" Turned out to be not such a bad mistake, but it's something to watch out for for next time, definatly. I realised it might be a bit odd for a Mini Normal, but I decided it was probably on the right side of the borderline between normal and odd.
