If you have three people who are, in your mind, cleared from being scum, you have three too many. Clearing one player, without investigations or whatever, isn't very good, let alone three!

No one is cleared permanently. In fact, I already regret saying what I said about White. He shouldn't be cleared. I think I was blinded by my elation at having someone in the game that actually, you know, deigned to post in our little game here. But day 1 requires a lynch to get to day 2. All I'm doing is looking for both scum tells as well as "townie tells", "noob tells" and "oh. battlemage. christ." tells in order to make the best lynch decision for day 1. I am fully aware that there is still a strong chance that I'll be dead wrong no matter who I pick since there are more townies than scum in the game and on day 1 all scum have to do is look like town or keep their head down. But we need to go on something. so I categorize as I go knowing full well that I am (by definition) "probably" wrong.

You've only argued with Cicero over I have no idea I've forgotten now.

I'm not very comfortable with the fact that me and Cicero effectively got "SHUTUPPLXKTHX"...

Shaka's case against kakeng seems solid enough though it is based on 2 main things:

1) BM's odd game play
2) Kakeng lurking.

I get the impression that BM always plays that way. I was quick to vote for her (its a her, I was thinking it was a him) after the cicero case b/c I was convinced that only scum would act in that way. On top of that, BM suspected me, Theo, CLA, Gorgon and cicero. Only kakeng can help clear this up.

Which brings us to 2. Meaning that I won't be ready to lynch until kakeng post some content. That being said, if we were going to lynch a lurker for lurking, at least there is a case against kakeng.

shaka!!- same thing. admits mistakes when he makes them contributes ideas and presents evidence.

theopor_COD- BM though his early game reeked of scum, I don't recall seeing this, but I will check up on it.
Erotomachia- I've got enough rope for two or three lynches...
AlyG- no need for now. May be some sort of weirdo back up but until he is replaced I see no need to push the issue.
ChocolateAttack- I've got nothing new here. Seems ok.
Kakeng- Shaka's case carries some weight.
Gorgon- Despite the slipup when he thought guppy was lynched, I find myself thinking town.
cicero- just as I remember him.
Jalyn- call me an optimist, but I find myself believing that she will post something soon...

And some good news: I've never abandoned a mafiascum game, and I don't intend to abandon this one. I might get killed (and I often do), but I won't quit. So consider my slot full.

: In your 198, you said AlyG was under suspicion when he disappeared around page 4, only he wasn't. He'd racked up four votes, true, but at least three of them were random. The beginning of your 216 has a more accurate summation of AlyG's early play and the reactions to it. Why did you say in 198 that AlyG was under suspicion? (Gorgon correctly points this out without getting this specific, in his 219.)

: cicero and others brought up a good point on pages 8 and 9, which you never responded to. Twice in this game, you've gone lurker in this game while still remaining very active in your other games. In your 196, you claim that this is "partially intentional" because you'd read, refresh, and find ten new posts. OK... but if you're seeing this, why not respond to some of them at that time? If you can't respond to some of them at that time, why not respond to some of them later? Your 196 just generally felt... off to me. It said nothing while providing the sense that it was saying something.

: In your 205, you seem to deliberately miss the point that somestrangeflea's problem wasn't lurking, it was the fact that he was lurking here while being active elsewhere. Your deflection to ChocolateAttack and daedalus (me, now) made it seem like you were defending SSF rather than trying to make any sort of point. I realllly don't like "I don't know about X being scum, but Y and Z are definitely scummier!" tactics. In your 229, you don't do much to distinguish CA, SSF, and myself, but you defend SSF there, twice. It just struck me as a little odd that you'd say all this, but then defend one of the three and not back the rest of it up with a vote.

With 250 posts down, pwayne66 and cicero seem overly friendly and helpful to me, I'm pretty sure Prof.Guppy/White's in a town role, I like Gorgon's play style a lot, and I'd really like to strangle AlyG (IRL, not in the game).

I just don't see the problem here. I wasn't suggesting he was under deep suspicion by everyone. He was an issue. Under suspicion by Flea. As the discussion went on I got more precise in explaining it. Your question really stems from your interpretation of the phrase "under suspicion".

The other thing to address is the "chumminess" with Pwayne. Truth is there really is none. We were in Newbie 436 together. Fought a lot. Largely over my noobie play. Then in our very next game ended up together. Both of us have a social and strategic interest in avoiding starting off being antagonistic even if play ultimately puts us there. So some burying the hatchet went on. We aren't suspecting each other right now because I dont think Pwayne has shown any scum tells and my play in this game he finds consistant with last game where I ended up townie. I'm certainly not going to start a fight with him now just to show I can.

(Personally I think my play in this game is a lot better and his suggestion that I'm playing the same way is incorrect, but I'm biased.)

Welcome Jester. To answer you question as best I can without metagaming, If I remember right I had promised my wife a weekend without computer uses... needless to say, I failed at it.

The chumminess between me and cicero will have to come to an end eventually. The fact is we have similar play styles and neither are willing to concede a point. It ends up being a terribly distracting, nitpicking snark infested quibble fest. This is the reason I have avoided confrontation. BTW Cicero has improved from the last game, so I am hard pressed to find anything scummy about his play yet.
