The situation

Everyone was aware of the mafia presence in Sienna. Within the Contrades, each family knew of the secret mob manipulating things behind the scenes. With the world-famous horse race approaching, the Palio di Siena, the citizens wished to rid their hometown of the cruel mob. But how? Nobody knew a way, and nobody knew who could be a part of the mob themselves! 5 Days before the Palio, the mayor of Siena was found strangled in his ornamental bed. A simple message was left by his side: Catch us if you can. The great citizens of Siena grouped together to try to rid the town of the mob. But with mafia members infiltrating their ranks,their task may be harder than they thought...

I am liking the amount of posting in this game. Jase is the obvious exception, he hasn't posted since new years eve when he /inned. Instead of the rather draconian choice to replace him straight away, I will send him a prod, and if he doesn't pick it up in 48 hours I will begin looking for a replacement. hey guys, a friendly mod update here!
This game has suddenly gotten quite complicated, with two people asking for replacements, and one person being unavailable for an unknown amount of time. This may take some time to sort out, seeing as I'm moving back to University tomorrow, and have a ridiculous amount of work on my plate.

Basically, I will try to find replacements as soon as possible, but it may be a while before we get this game back up to full "attendance". I may consider pushing the deadline back if the delay is huge. Having one third of the game drop out in the space of two days is no easy obstacle to deal with. Please bear in mind that this is my first attempt to mod a game, so be nice to me!

The townspeople discuss without cease in the council house. Outside, a huge crowd has gathered, the flags of the different contrades being waved proudly. Inside though, the raucous mob can barely be heard, the discussion was too intense. After much deliberation, the group seem to find Ellibereth's actions peculiar. Much whispering around the table occurs, and eventually the group proclaim that he must be a part of the mafia. Backing away from the table, Ellibereth looks shocked. The doors of the council house are thrown open, and Ellibereth is pushed, tumbling down the stairs and into the waiting crowd.

"He's mafia! Get him!" cries Budja.

Ellibereth looks up, stunned, then terrified as the mob rip him to shreds, and tie up his body on the council house wall, his blood dripping over the flag of the contrada de bruco.

When night falls, and the mob disperse, the members of the council take down Ellibereths body, and search it for clues. Inside one of his pockets is a diary, and the eleven eagerly look for evidence. However, nowhere in the book does it even mention the mafia.

"oops" says one of the assembled members.

MOD'S NOTE: wow. that was stressful. Basically there was a virus attack on my university's network, so they took down everything, including all forms of internet on the entire campus (which includes the internet in my room). Basically Ive tried to make do with my mate's iPhone, but it wasn't really up to the task. I thank you all for your patience, and apologise for the late re-starting of this game. Now lets get back to the hot sweaty mafia action.

The car pulls up outside the courthouse. The last member of the council to arrive steps out, and is immediatedly aware of the huge mob which so brutally killed Ellibereth the night before surrounding the council house. The jeers and screams of the crowd echo around the plaza, causing the man to shut his eyes out of discomfort. He pushes his way through to the raised steps, trying not to look up at where Ellibereth's body had been hung. The police keep the crowd back, as the man steps though the ornate doors and into the council chamber. Looking around, he realises that there is one fewer member there than there was yesterday. The graven faces of the other councilmen say the whole story.

I would very much like to see the rate of posts pick up a bit. A lot of people are just posting saying that they will "catch up later", and not a lot of actual progress is being made. The only player who can legitimately use this excuse is Moriarty for replacing. Get involved people!

The discussion in the council house gets heated. The citizens begin to accuse Wickedestjr of being a member of the mafia. The arguments get more and more angry, eventually approaching wicked. One of the citizens pushes Wicked up against the wall, and in doing so his jacket flies open momentarily. However, that moment is all everyone needs to see the gun holster uner his jacket. Wickedestjr tries to hide it, but the citizens grab the pistol and examine it. The gun is a “lone-ranger 3000”, a deadly firearm.

“I’m a vigilante! I promise!” Says Wickedestjr as the angry councilmen

“We can’t trust anyone prowling the streets of our fair city at night with a gun, whoever you are!” one of the council retorts.

Wickedestjr tries to run from the advancing townies, but all too late he remembers the violent crowd outside. Still shocked from last evening’s proceedings, the council watch another member die by the hands of the cruel mob.As his broken body is hung off the council house wall, many turn away in shame.

When the crowd has dispersed and left the council square, the council investigate Wickedestjr’s house. Inside, every wall is covered by maniacal writing; “kill kill kill”

The next day was short. The council quickly turned on Pman, and threw him out to the crowd for lynching, almost accepting this brutal form of justice. When they look at Pman's body, they uncover a large red pistol "il padrino 2000" is the make.

"Didn't expect that, did you?" Thesp states coldly, a smile on his face. Dramonic hears the gunshot, then no more.

the one thing I will say about this game is that the scum played out of their minds. They nailed each power role, pretty much, and had all the control of where the game was going. It was like watching a townie train crash in slow motion.

Also respect to Fate, who in the scums' words "came in and straight away nailed everything"

all together I thought this game was well played all round, and also well intentioned. There was none of the bad language or harshness/ personal attacks which seem to plague the majority of games I play in here.

I think that the scum team were a strong one, perhaps the inclusion of a roleblocker was a mistake. However I think it was the skill of the scum, not the set-up, which decided the match. Pretty much all the town power roles were neutralised early on. I don't think CTD got a meaningful cop investigation the entire game one way or another.
