Personally I think Zerg is the hardest to play at around my skill level, they have the slowest anti-air and similarly slow invis detection so it's easy to cheese them, and in addition they have to know how to use queens well and manage their larva so they're both getting drones and not getting completely overrun.
At pro level i really want to say that terran's easiest and protoss+zerg are about the same given the number of different races in GSL spots and such butttttt it takes so much work to get up there as ANY race that that I don't think it matters which is easiest when it's going to take hundreds or thousands of hours of practice to get that good as any race at all.
And I THINK low-level diamond would be a lot lot different than higher level diamond, even with the masters league now it's basically 80th percentile to around 98th, which is a gigantic difference skill-wise.

Everyone enjoys micro more than macro, why do you think there are so many games like Zealot Frenzy and Star Battle and Bunker Wars where the only macro is choosing which units to get?

Personal experience+the number of people that play custom games in WC3/Starcraft but completely ignore the actual Ladder part of it.
I have absolutely no factual evidence for it whatsoever if that's what you're asking.

So Tonights/this mornings GSL matches were pretty awesome IMO, watching both terran players do nothing except mass barracks units and get their faces stomped in because of it felt pretty amazing. Zenith has absolutely no chance of beating oGsMC though, I'm hoping for MC vs. July finals.

I was planning to get the season ticket for whatever season starts after the semester is over but last week my computer just completely stopped working with gomplayer streams, and there's pretty much no tech support for the english version of gomplayer : /. Recently I've been using the VLC media player and rearranging the SQ link to make it work, but it's a pain in the ass and I don't know if it would even work with the HQ stream.

Aaaaaaaand gom decides to fuck me over and make it so the VLC links don't work either as of last night. Seriously, why would they fix that when the people using it PRETTY OBVIOUSLY can't get their shitty player to work, or they'd be using it instead of using ridiculous workarounds to try and watch the matches.

So I've been messing around with other races since it can't demote me with the ladder about to end, and have discovered that I am terrrrrible at zerg.
Anyone play zerg and have some advice for spending minerals faster? I've been massing speedlings with my extra larva but it would probably be better to get a few extra queens and take risky expansions for the extra gas, maybe even get another hatch or two in my main/natural. Any suggestions?

So apparently placement matches count even if you leave under the normal 2 minute mark- I just got promoted to platinum because a diamond league guy didn't want to play a PvP :3

So the mafias went from seriously the worst game ever all the way up to a one-man-standing town win over the course of 4 games. Would have been even MORE fun with more people but I'm pretty okay with how it went down.
PZ and kerrigan get all the <3s.

Man the last FFA I played I got attacked by all three other players consecutively on Metalopolis.
I held off the first attack (from terran) and went and murdered half his base, then got attacked by zerg and barely held it off (and he left the game right afterwards), then less than a minute afterwards the final player (protoss) comes in with a 150+ supply army and decimates my main, and then I just hopped around with expansions for 10 minutes before he killed them all.
I was sad.

Yeah the only real thing that lower levels can do to mindgames is fake expand and hope that their opponent expands too or doesn't make as many units so you can cancel it and just make a bunch more units out of nowhere, and that only works if they're scouting a lot- not mining gas after building it or making a fake tech structure won't actually affect what most people do until you're up pretty high on the ladder. (im not that high up as plat for instance)

I haven't been online for a week because my laptop's adapter broke and ebay sent the replacement to 321 <my address> instead of 1321. And I just found this out today. I'll be back on more once I get home from vacation on the 6th or 7th.

I shouldn't have bought the cheap one from ebay but I'm getting a not-shitty one from amazon with free 2-day shipping now so hopefully I can play tomorrow.

Beating Terratron and getting the first score achievement was worth it for me, it was pretty fun- There are actually 3 levels of the Lost Viking score achievement though (which I didn't know until after I got the first one) and I'm not nearly good enough at it to get those.

It took me a while but I eventually beat that on Brutal with a fairly mixed army (decent number of carriers+void rays+ dark templars, stalkers, and about 6 colossi) and tons of photon cannons, when the nydus things appear make sure you target them down first, they'll absolutely maim any photon cannon defenses with never-ending broodlings if you don't.
And my laptop is finally back up and running so STARCRAFT TONIGHT.

So since nobody else showed up me and Zito 2vs2'd to PLATINUM LEVELS. AS IN WE'RE 2VS2 PLATINUM NOW.
We almost went 5 wins out of 5 games but the last one had two zerg that kicked our ass- it's a pretty nice consolation prize thouggh.

There's definitely improvement, but also a lot of players still in bronze/silver.
And being hilariously bad and winning anyway is much more fun than being good.

The GSTL games "tonight" are awesome, one back and forth game with void ray colossi vs. infestors and a bunch of ultralisks and one void ray with 60 something kills, and the next with the same protoss making 5 nexuses at his opponents base for shits and giggles while murdering everything he had.
