This feels extremely off. They're not scum together because I don't think they'd do that out in the open like that, but one of them is buddying. I'm not sure yet which of the two, but not buying those townreads for a bit.

reason for other players to not be suspicious of them both. In fact, I'd say it's far more likely to see two scum who 100% know each other's alignments than two townies, because

townies don't know each other's roles.

scum rarely go "oh hai I will put you as strong tooooowwwwn and we will buddy up in the thread and win this game!!! \o/". scum usually distance themselves from their scummates in some way. town moves in herds; it is smarter for scum to disperse the town herd then to try to direct it.

So, if you can read people in from one post, I'd say,
There's a great chance of you reading them wrong and not realizing until they beat you as scum (of course, those don't count, brilliant scum play, or you have an off day, or some fluke).

there is a better chance of reading them correctly if I have played either a ton of games with them or I hydra with them. it comes with experience with the game an with that person.

There's a great chance of you thinking you can read them from one post because you go "oh they're town" and they flip town, as the majority of players would do, since the majority of players in any game are town.
There's a great opportunity for you, as scum, to claim to have read your partner as town after his first post. You're totally sure of it, because you are such an experienced mafia player!
There's a great opportunity for your friends, who know you can "read them after one post," to manipulate you into reading them as town after one post, thereby gaining a lovely white-knight for the rest of the game.

this is a very simplistic overview of the game. and sometimes I will townread a scumspect in order to get them to help me lynch their partners so that should be taken into consideration as well, especially on d1.

But please, bring me examples of you having read people after one post. No doubt you'll prove me wrong in the end.

Desp - null, should be reading you as town no matter alignment.
MattP - Town. Very vocal and largely unanimous townread.
Wisdom - Town. Very vocal and largely unanimous townread.
Arc - null, some support for his lynch but not enough to state an outright scumread without looking bad.
Mala - null, some scumreads, some townreads, but not enough for a confident scumread without looking bad.
shos - scum, everybody thinks he's scum, pretty much, especially buddies MattP and Wisdom. Also, "I might be wrong," so none of the blame can go to you when he flips the wrong way.

Right now, I'm pushing shos. I started out pushing shos because he felt weird, took a backseat in the pushing since MattP was taking the main push. There are a few players that I will take a backseat to, MattP is one of them. There were a lot of middle things that I missed when I went through a lower activity period, didn't feel like posting that much. Right now, I'm pushing shos because he's getting an easy pass for words words words which was pretty much the first thing I learned to do when I was a little scumbag. I am pushing Grimgroove because a few things Grimgroove said aren't meshing for me, although it's really really hard not to townread his high posting. Mollie is being held at an arm's length despite this game being a stronger showing from mollie-scum than she would ever be before; Desp had some decent points in his initial push and mollie shut him down in a way that I didn't really like so much. I think Penguin is probably a strong choice for scum, but I also think she's a default vote too often and is one of those people I feel more confident reading Day 2/Day 3. Mirari/ooba still stay on my watchlist, ooba moreso than Mirari after Mirari's "ooba and I can read each other bit" which I liked a lot for some reason.
