Your tiny village of North Trollsberg was a peaceful, well-nigh idyllic place so recently that it almost hurts to think back to those days of pleasant, productive life with your friends and family. Recently though, the mafia has made a bid to take over all operations in the area. Failing that, they seem willing to eliminate everyone rather than leave your community uncontrolled. Now, after a quick turf battle in which your fellow townspeople refused to give in to the mafia's demands most of the population has been killed or forced to flee for their safety. The nine of you that remain are the stubborn ones. Unfortunately two of you are also agents of the mafia so it's time to start lynching to get rid of them so that the scattered survivors can return and try to rebuild the community that you once thought secure.

Game Rules (modified from Vel-Rahn Koon’s rules):
General Gameplay and Etiquette:
You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it. Mafia members may communicate at night and during the confirmation stage or the first 24 hours after roles are sent out (whichever is longer.)
If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.
Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).
Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.
As a general rule you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:
A simple majority of all living members must agree on one person for a lynch to occur
Once you have reached a simple majority no further unvoting will change someone’s fate.
Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players including the one who was lynched may continue to post during twilight.
Please submit votes as:
Vote: PlayerName
.
Votes will NOT be counted otherwise! Votes must be bold to be counted.
Please submit vote revocations as either
Unvote: PlayerName
or
Unvote
. Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
You may
Vote: No Lynch
- a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without a lynch.
This game will have 3 week deadlines. At deadline, the player (or No Lynch) with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the tie breaker will be the player who has the first active vote on them. Should there be no active votes at deadline no one will be lynched.
Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players including the one who was lynched may continue to post during twilight.
Once you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post. This means that you do not even get a “Bah” post. The dead in this game are silent.
Miscellaneous/Mechanics:
Green
text is reserved for the Mod. No invisible/small text is allowed.
If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
Please bold all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed.
Prods of missing players will be issued upon request or after 3 days of no activity. A prodded player has 48 hours to respond or risks replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to replacement without further notice.
Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill.
If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please post a notice to that effect in the thread.
Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
The Golden Rule:
Please remember that this is a game and your main objective is to have fun! Be considerate of each other, don’t get personal, and enjoy the game.

The F11 setup is the current game format used in Newbie games. To prevent the development of game-breaking strategies, these Newbie Games are Semi-Open. The actual game setup is randomly chosen from one of four possible setups as detailed below:
If either of the first two setups are in play, and the situation occurs where the Goon is lynched first, the Roleblocker will still be able to submit both night kills and roleblocks (roleblocking is a function of the Roleblocker; night kills are a function of the scum team as a whole).
These are the Role PMs that have potentially been sent to the players:
You are a member of the Mafia along with your partner, <name>, a <Mafia Goon or Mafia Roleblocker>. Your current task is to eliminate the rest of North Trollsberg by killing them at night and getting them lynched during the day.
During the day, try to blend in with the normal Townies, and attempt to get someone lynched.
During the NIGHT cycle ONLY, you may talk with your fellow Mafia (via PM) and choose another player in the town to kill that night.
You may communicate privately with your fellow Mafia up until the game thread is opened. Once the game begins, all outside communication must cease until the night cycle.
You win when the number of Mafia equals or exceeds the number of remaining Town players, whether you survive to the end or not.
You are a member of the Mafia along with your partner, <name>, a Mafia Goon. Your current task is to eliminate the rest of North Trollsberg during the day, try to blend in with the normal Townies, and attempt to get someone lynched.
[*]As a Roleblocker, you have the ability to distract any player throughout the night, effectively negating their night ability, if they have one.
[*]Send the moderator a PM with your choice of player that you want to block. If they have a Night action, it will have no effect. You will not be informed as to whether your roleblock worked or not.
[*]During the NIGHT cycle ONLY, you may talk with your fellow Mafia (via PM) and choose another player in the town to kill that night.
[*]You may communicate privately with your fellow Mafia up until the game thread is opened. Once the game begins, all outside communication must cease until the night cycle.
[*]You win when the number of Mafia equals or exceeds the number of remaining Town players, whether you survive to the end or not.[/list]
You are the local law enforcement, and can tell the good guys from the bad.
Each NIGHT, you may send the moderator a PM with your choice of player that you want to investigate.
The Moderator will inform you as to that person’s guilt or innocence.
At no time may you privately communicate with any other player.
In a Newbie game, you will always get a correct result (no sanity issues) provided you are not roleblocked (if you are roleblocked you will get no result.)
You win when all the Mafia players are gone, whether you survive to the end or not.
You are the local physician, and can protect people from harm.
Each NIGHT, you may send the moderator a PM with your choice of player that you want to protect.
If someone attempts to kill that player during the Night, they will be spared.
You may not protect yourself.
At no time may you privately communicate with any other player.
In a Newbie game, your protection target will always live through the night (no quacks) provided you are not roleblocked (if you are roleblocked your protection will not work.)
You win when all the Mafia players are gone, whether you survive to the end or not.

Roles have now been sent out to all the players. We are in the confirmation phase. Please confirm in the thread when you have read and understood both your role and the rules for the game. If you have any questions about your role or the rules please PM Zorblag. Day one will start once everyone has confirmed.
Mafia members have until 6:00 PM EDT/3:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, June 16th or until the confirmation stage is done (whichever happens later) to communicate to each other at the start of the game. After that they may not communicate privately until Night One.

I've just learned that my grandmother died today. Tomorrow would have been her 91st birthday; she lived a full life and this isn't unexpected at all. The only effect this might have on the game is that I might end up missing a couple days at some point in the upcoming week while I go participate in whatever ceremony we end up having and help my mother with whatever she needs help with. I hope you'll excuse my absence if I'm not here for a stretch shortly. Thok is also watching over the game. If I'm not here for an extended period consider him the backup mod. I hope that it won't be an issue but if I'm not here he'll speak for me in whatever needs to be done.

The timing for replacements in laid out in the rules. Cartza is just reaching the threshholds shortly so I'm starting to look for a replacement. Also, Lupo El Loco has requested a replacement so in fact I'll be looking for two.
Thank you for the note that you'll be V/LA Chiarosicada. If everyone could be sure and post in thread if they know they'll miss more than a day it'd be great.

So the game seemed to be a pretty decent one for the most part to me. Here are a couple thoughts about the newer players that I hope will be helpful.
Einlanzers, you started out looking really scummy in my opinion. Somewhere midway through day one I think you saw this and you made a huge improvement in your play. That stopped you from getting lynched then but unfortunately for you I think that it probably wasn't enough to stop you from getting lynched later as you were. In any case, you made big improvements just through the play in this game. Keep at it and continue to get a feel for what is expected would be my advice.
jammer, you seemed to be overly worried about the game after Hurleys_Van got lynched. I was pretty pleased with your scum play. There's a chance that you got too defensive towards the end rather than trying to push a case on others but you seem to have a good feel for what's going down.
Hurleys_Van, it's mostly a matter of participation for you so far as I could tell. You need to be involved with the game or you're going to get lynched for inactivity like you were as long as the town is on the ball. Past that your play was fine so far as I saw.
Col.Cathart, your play seemed pretty decent to me. You did make the call when you needed to at the end and you made it correctly. Clearly you had a couple calls wrong along the way so do watch out for that but you seem to have a good basis to work from here.
Porkens, I know you're not new and we've talked about your play very briefly. The looking scummy as a cop strategy isn't ideal I don't think but it got the job done well enough here for the town to win.
Town on the whole did distract eachother some but in the end they cut through what they needed to and made mislynches that helped narrow down who they were looking for in scum. The best lynch I saw was Hurleys_Van for lurking but I think that lurkers get too much leeway so I'm biased.
Thank you all for playing and best of luck in your future games!
Night actions were pretty obvious I would think. Porkens investigated Chiarosicada night one (innocent) and then Eilanzers night two (innocent). Scum killed VP Baltar, Porkens and then Vino.
