I screwed up the meaning of that apparently after looking at it on the Wiki. Chainsaw defense is defending your scum buddy by attacking the person who attacked them. But that's not really what I meant to say, it was more of just defending a buddy in general.

Agree with the bold.

You should read Clytons ISO.
I have. Will say more after there's more data from him.
I do not think Beast is scummy and I'm far more concerned with Jiffy sheeping that bad logic.
I seem to default-scum-read Beast so I'm deferring trying to develop a read there for now.

IME Majiffy goes for noise elimination on day 1 regardless of game state and regardless of alignment. I don't townread or scumread him for that.

I'm not getting a scum vibe from him this game. I'm getting a town vibe so far, though it's hard to articulate why.

Also getting a town vibe from svenskt based on the timing of his vote. Would like to see more posts.

I had a super negative reaction to xofelf's posting and I'd probably have our vote there if klick hadn't called xofelf town for a post that didn't ring town bells for me. I don't have any prior games for comparison and I haven't felt the urge to meta dive just yet. I'd like to look at reads with naive eyes for a while yet.

I am somewhat familiar with Iece's play and so far this game isn't reminding me of scum-Iece, though there are some things I've learned to expect from town-Iece that I haven't seen yet.

The timing of your request looks a little odd given how things are shaping up with Mastin and the Iece slot. AP is one player who probably can nearly 100% read Mastin. IF AP is town.

And yet you've advanced a reason for copping Mastin that should apply to any game at any time. You make the request only after a fairly significant replace-in and because of the reaction to the replacement. I say again, explain plz.

Indeed, Mastin should be copped in any game, preferably earlier so she gets less time to pull strings as scum, and perpetual safety as town.

This is Day 1, and reasonably early in the game. I find nothing wrong with the timing of the post.

If you point to any single random player, odds are that they'll be Town rather than Scum. Basic probability.

What in particular about that post sparked the cop request?
Nothing in particular. The fact of Mastin being impossible to read with 100% certainty requires that she be copped very early.

At best, I can only do 99% ;)

- b -
And yet, you didn't make the request sooner, though you say that it's a requirement she be copped very early.

Here are the problems I have with your posts.

- Directing hypothetical PRs always catches my attention, particularly from a player I don't know has a tendency to do that sort of thing. You're an anonymous hydra so this box is checked, and not with a fine point pen.

- If you are town, and scum think a hypothetical cop will take you up on your suggestion, then you've painted a target on Mastin if she's town.

- If you are scum, then this could be an opportunity to point town PR attention at someone who's not on your team, and possibily making your team's night action choices less complicated.

- Of the two players, in that interaction, Mastin looks a hell of a lot more town. And, the slot became far more dangerous if scum with the addition of AP. And you are drawing attention to the more town looking player in the interaction.

- There is still a huge question in my mind about why that interaction and that post would have been the one to spark the request.

IMO telling town PRs what to do when data is still quite thin is bad play if you're town, and I question why town-anybody would do it. There are times when giving town PRs advice makes sense. Right now doesn't feel even close to such a time.

At the very most, I can give them incentive... with a smooch :*
Incentive which IMO is advantageous to scum if they take you up on it.
I don't want to get involved in mafia discussion. Mastin, however, may gladly accommodate you. She can discuss mafia theory with you as a player; regardless if she is town or scum :)
Right now, you have my interest considerably more than Mastin does.
I'm only interested in finding scum.

@geists(?lol what is that name) you can't just generate content by making a wish.
The name is pretty Hegelian. I like it. You generate content in a large game the same way you generate content in a smaller game - you ask questions, poke at stuff, vote, etc.
I've never played a large game start-to-end; only replaced into ones. ones that had 100 pages before I joined, lol.
ok. Lately, I tend to have slow starts and get flack in large games. I don't care. I poke at stuff, develop reads and see how my impression of the game matches what others say. So, I can appreciate the gripe but it's still on you to do what you can to fix what you don't like about the game state.

That's fine, but I am here (but not caught up), so lets bounce reads. I see you voting xofelf, walk me through that.
- felt off as a reaction to an rvs vote.

- contradicts 46 in that xofelf says she doesn't react to rvs votes after reacting to one.

- feels a little defensive. I probably wouldn't be concerned about it if not for the way 46 and 73 struck me.

She's also soft-defended Abomination argued against a policy lynch, but the concern looks premature, maybe contrived. Overall she feels jumpy and defensive.

Klick townreads her for something that I don't understand, and I don't think he's explained it yet.

ffery head posted that. Nati and I haven't discussed it but I'd be surprised if she disagrees.

I made the assumption after Action Dan claimed that his role PM gave hi info that suggested multifaction in post . But, I would lean the direction of multifaction in a game this size by default.
There's also a lot of wagon movement coming up very fast. I need to review that. Eyeballing this though, there's very little overlap between the wagons. People are being quite fixed in wagons and they are rising and falling with incredible speed.

- Venus Fly Trap -
What do you make of the lack of overlap? Also, according to Always' analysis there has actually been some movement from wagon to wagon, so I am not sure what you mean by "being quite fixed". Some players haven't shifted. Others have.

Some of Ceph's comments after the FE:A game.

Subject: Fire Emblem: Awakening Mafia (Game Over)
Cephrir wrote:Unborn children:
Inigo- can propose to female children (this just creates another neighborhood)
Severa- self-redirector
Cynthia- vanilla (originally innocent child, but too awkward and confirmed Sumia)
Nah- 1-shot commuter
Morgan- universal backup

Early-setup-notes:
Hierophant was originally broken as hell and had a million abilities. I can dredge up how absurd this was, but I decided I wanted the game to be low-power all around and this ended up getting the axe, plus it put too much of the scum's power on one role. Though when I had it this way I was going to let them pick who had the role. I probably didn't remove enough town power to compensate for this.
Henry was a miller (there was a more real investigative role somewhere else, I forget) but ultimately I decided a SK-like rolename was sufficient.
At one point Chrom & Sumia could only marry the characters they can in game, but it meant I had to force scum into particular fakeclaims or allow Chrom and Sumia to basically be investigative, so no.

Yes, Robin was too easy a fakeclaim to guess. Sorry ;_;
Kinda thinking we won't find scum via character claims this time, between Ceph's experience and Cabd's wickedness as a game designer.

Everything looks so genuinely chaotic and messy, though. His level of complete and udder indignation in the face of his claim being called into question is almost palpable.

All I can think of is that Xenosaga mafia debacle I played such a large hand in. It felt much like this.
I've been thinking about that game also.

Mostly comparing your (kagami's) certainty that your character info would clear you to shos' similar mindset. I feel like your certainty was more clear and more expectant if that makes sense, but I don't know if the slight difference is meaningful.

I've also compared flandre's off notes to xof's and I feel pretty good about that wagon. It needs more votes.

my read is cautious as hell leaning town.

I liked iece's response to my comment about our prior games.

I probably overestimate my learnings after I play against someone who's scum but I think I have picked up a few things.

Still think Abomination is scum.

I was actually seeking clarification, since you called out the scum on your wagon and only indicated Furious Frozen Water. Do you honestly think it's 2 scum and 1 town currently on you? Meh. I'm pretty happy with my vote on you.

Correction: 46 was a response to a from Action Dan about the tags possibly being voteworthy.

The relevant part below bolded.

3. ffery picks up a tentative town read.

Something like that happens in nearly every game I play. Sometimes the tentative town read even lasts the game day.

This is the second time you've done a drive-by soft-fos. If you have a concern about me why aren't you trying to sort me?

I'm curious why you asked someone who's made recent comments about her given a few people voted recently with no trajectory at all.

Am I not allowed to have a preference? I'm used to using

That's an overreaction to something in RVS that wasn't a vote - was even less than a vote. And that looked like a joke to me.

So yeah, overreaction in RVS.

Why are you asking this? Whether she's scum or not doesn't impact our other reads.

Nati thinks rhaego was scum and I agree. Y&B and Clyton/neil1113 are also scumreads.

You're giving me hives. Haven't decided if you're scum.

BulbaFenix ping a little. The Goat, Kdowns/Mist are also pinging a little. I thought the way kdowns replaced out looked a little scummy.

Kinda Town

Lord Mhork

T S O
Birds of Prey
ActionDan - was higher, read is going stale.
Moogle Dance Troupe
Svenskt Stål - probably should move him up but I'm annoyed.
Nero Cain
neil1113 - because I'm tired of mastin's condescension
Egg - probably belongs in the next higher group but I don't want to think about it right now.

Maybe Town

beastcharizard - maybe belongs in not so town.
BBmolla - being pretty useless now after some town-looking early posts
xofelf - grudgingly here

Not So Town

BulbaFenix - becoming pretty concerned that they've had so little impact on the game state.
Lemniscate - previous slot-holders didn't impress, and more data needed
Young and Beautiful
Mist7676 - scummy posts punctuate a lot of lurking

Stale Reads

ProHawk - was pretty town before fading
Katsuki - was kinda town and sliding downward. Assuming he'll be replaced.

More Data Needed

The Goat - mostly like him so far but fuck if I'll call him town yet when he ignored the game so long.

Really, why? I've actually been disliking most of their stuff. It kind of hit me subtly, not any one thing, but I started thinking about them and I guess (without looking at any posts right now) I'd say they are being kind of a non-presence. They are sort of around but not really stirring the pot.

First off, you gotta understand I had nothing to do with the Y&B wagon and we both think that it's a wagon of ill content at the moment.

Most of the kinda-town group I'm not exactly getting, though. Like the reads otherwise, though the townreads section is what I felt was the best.

Don't feel pressured by this, please. Not trying to force changes in read, just offering my own commentary on them.

The game is so large and unwieldy that I decided to add another group to my usual piles.

Yes your case is flim flam geists.

I have no content scum who refuses to provide it and hops onto every major wagon. I have people like you/TSO saying they are scum, but still wanting a counterwagon anyway. They provide useless filler, which some people are townreading them for despite this wagon being fought for tooth and nail. Shos and xoe's wagons, overnight. Add in AP's sudden scumread on me after the Y and B wagon takes off...

How many people bailed on shos and xoelf because the wagon gained to much steam or they had other scumreads? Zero. You know why? Because they are town.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are looking at one team given the wagon behavior.

Compare that to

Asking Abomination to confirm whether they're a miller or not. That's literally the entire case on Leminscate. Yet, Geists sells that up as the best thing since sliced bread. Why wouldn't geists push it sooner if they believed the case was that good? Why wait until Y and B was the top wagon?

Xof's reaction to her wagon was not a town reaction, it's the reaction of scum who has a lot of partners (I'm also 95% that this is 20-7-1). She wasn't afraid of a mislynch, nor aggressive toward her attackers, because she knows they're all town. Her reaction to being wagoned in part for lurking is to lurk it off, which is of course going to be successful, because there's conveniently a player whom
nobody
is townreading and who is also being deliberately obnoxious. Conveniently, that wagon starts up nicely and goes full blast with no resistance.

And
BoP wrote:We got one week to get the rest of the votes needed.

Bulb is still also scum; wake-slot is probably scum if he wasn't WoTC'ed. One of the other votes on the Y&B wagon is scum, and it's not geists, shos, TSO, or mhork.

Nobody, nobody at all, has townread Y&B this game, and for good reason. They are clearly being deliberately useless; they decided to sign up as an anonymous hydra and see if they could get by blowing kisses and acting cutesy.

Unfortunately, they're probably town for roughly the same reason that you're probably scum. The circumstances of the wagons surrounding your slots coupled with the very high probability of a seven-man scumteam make Y&B the scum designated mislynch. Even the timing of it is awful, and plays directly into the "only a week left!" rubbish.

The constituency of the wagon is awful. Of the 11 names there, only geists, TSO, shos, and mhork are townreads. Does anyone seriously believe this is a town-driven wagon? I considered the possibility that this is all a big bus on a liability, but even that seems unlikely, because it's a hard-counterwagon to xolf, which makes little sense regardless of her alignment.

Flandre wagon was super town. Ceph got on early, because it was in part a counterwagon to his own, but after that only the hammer was scum. The driving force was all town. Yes, I was on the wrong side of it, if that's what you mean to point out.

This wagon really, really doesn't look the same.

It was a smaller game. I dunno. I remember people making arguments about how flandre was derptown and designated mislynch, but it kept growing.

I don't like how it has picked up such incredible steam so quickly, but most of the late jumpers not trying to save their own skins look town to me.

I was certainly entertaining the possibility based on action dan's post.

kagami(?) thinks the way the Y&B wagon took off there at its height looked kinda like a 7 player scumteam.

I hate trying to sort that stuff without flips. I want to lynch a strong scumread and let god sort multiball out.

I don't like to tell stories and I don't think town replace-ees should rely on stories.

Y&B was run up over 10 votes iirc and claimed friendly neighbor.

Bird of Prey's push there, especially the reaction to the claim is interesting. Nati thinks lemniscate is scum and I've moved our vote back there for now.

Look at the isos of lemniscate, mist7676 and Xof. If you've played with any of them I'm curious what you think.

Majiffy's scumreading Xof and pushing that wagon hard. SG and Nero are scumreading each other. Other stuff happened.

The slot is pretty solidly null, why is your vote on her again?

You still think Lemon is scum? I thought his little outburst here was townish. I agree with Molla though, mixed opinions. Is it bad that Molla is becoming my best townread?

the outburst wasn't bad tonewise but there's no trajectory, no reason for the reads.

Go back and look at that townish post. It was 99% yelling at Nati. Not about his scum reads including who he voted.

I'm going to need more evidence of town mindset to change my read.

I don't have a preconceived notion of what you should see, but Mhork's defense of Xof has been one of the defining events for me and despite not really liking associations as a scumhunting tool on day 1, I am really curious what one's flip would say about the other.

Tis Bird of Prey character is town. who did he replace?

Here he claims that he isn't a Demon. Scum is caught, good night everyone.

Foxfire: The ability to create incredibly hot greenish fire with demonic skills. It has next to no burn effect on opponents, but it can burn things like spider webs. It can neutralize fire from enemies, making it more of a defensive spell than an attack. The flame can be turned blue and can be held in his hand as a torch, such as when he is in caves or dark areas. This is also his main attack. Foxfire can be used as a shield, too. This was first shown when the fur of Shippō's deceased father created Foxfire to protect Shippō and Kagome from Hiten's thunderbolts. I dun't know and I can't really predict. This is the 3rd Ceph game I've played. In the AMoL mini scum had daytalk. In FE:A I am not positive but I don't think they had daytalk. That game had a ton of family neighborhoods and the neighborhoods weren't open during the day. I will dig through the FE:A postgame and see what I can find.

I think ap is being really stupid about prohawk And I have no clue why you dislike our interactions.

No one wants to lynch a claimed pr. What do you think ofap?

I thought his entrance looked kinda town. Iece also gave me a town sense eventually. It's faded a little, but I dunno. I am not getting scum vibes from AP. And I do get scum vibes when he's scum.

I'm expecting major newbtown flail.

Any thoughts on my tinfoil team? The former 3 I can actually see.

pedit-

Fair enough. I just feel like they feel awkward.

At the top of the page first thing that popped into my mind was the scumteam voting block in tales.

Your scumteam 1 consists of some of my townreads.

I thought B_E-Abom looked pretty town. I've also gotten town-vibes from Axxle.

Shos is scum. Clear and simple. Lemi wagon is a flash scum-hopped wagon that no one is going to actively fight because Lemi is a non-presence and will probably be an easy no-claim hammer to pull off.

Look at the people that actively fought the shos wagon every step of the way when he flips scum.

Yeah, definitely look at me.

I'm not above it. You haven't given me anything to work with.

I've put tons of stance on numerous players into the game thread.

The main key to that team is AP though

Iec had an early post that made me raise an eyebrow regarding abom

And I didn't like him/nero's interactions recently

And I don't like AP trying to push a lynch on a newbie without giving her a fair shot

pedit-

I'm against the shos wagon because I'm empirically awful

I'm pushing that lynch. AP has been against it and from what I'm seeing they're settling for a deadline compromise.
