Cuz like your opener feels like you are not talking to a stranger at all. It feels like you're talking to someone that you're already good friends with and one of the main things I can't reconcile in your play is why you opened on me the way that you did. Understanding the context for that would make this game a lot more understandable.

Coming out with confidence is the only possible way I could have pushed you there imo. I'm good at faking confidence. Not to mention this would be my first proper game of mafia ever and I was replacing my idol Transcend so the last thing I wanted to do was half-ass it. I actually had a completely different opener written before I decided to scrap it and go all-out on the push on you. PM from Pine told me I wasn't exactly sitting pretty so I knew I had to do something out of the ordinary to make any kind of positive impression on the game.

I read your games because you're a good player and I wanted to learn. I like your playstyle, it's interesting. I explicitly avoided reading much of players with fairly vanilla play. You have a few caveats in your game that other players don't have and your fundamentals are good. Your scumgame is better than your towngame because when you're scum you're pulling all the strings. When you're Town you have to actually gain the confidence of others and you can't let them in to what you're doing behind the scenes, which is where the most interesting and meaningful parts of your play are. Reading games is the only way I have to learn outside of my games and as a newbie my newbie games weren't enough. Pine as IC was really helpful but that was only post-game / dead thread and I'm a lot hungrier than that. Other players I read most heavily were Transcend, RedCoyote and kmd.

This tells me that there is very likely at least 1 scum bussing. Because LUV is the counterwagon, it is very unlikely that LUV is scum. This leaves {Akarin, Grendel, Fro99er}.

Since I have {Grendel, LUV} as the scumspects on the gerryoat wagon and LUV is counterwagon to JJD, we can provisionally rule LUV out. Which leaves Grendel.

To return to the original hypothesis, if 1 of {Grendel, Keyser, mbg, Sheep} should be scum and 1 of {Akarin, Rauthedir} should be scum, then Grendel is scum and Rautherdir is scum.

I just finished a game where we had 4 JOATs alive for a MyLo. I don't know what is considered balanced.

The only thing I do know is that usually the trend is that for "heavy" town power, there is an counteracting "scum" power.

The 4 JOAT game, that was 3 town and a 1 scum JOAT. Balanced.

Then when I played in the Hunger Games 2, there were hiders/doctors and the sort and the scum team had X-shot strongmans.

Set up spec I'd say since there is a heavy amount of investigative, that would go towards the roleblocking area or scum are ascetic in order for this to pass a normal review.

Also if you believe Cop/Backup Cop/BP/JK then adding MD to that really isn't a big deal. It could even be more balanced if you think scum power +daytalk is going to overpower Town. Highly doubt more than 1 scum PR. I kind of like MD in this setup honestly because of the WIFOM it gives combined with BP/JK.

Ok, if we can afford 'misslynches', we lynch in the VT pool. Obviously to break this game we will need to make a big step today (and this obviously puts my name in the line of potential VT lynches).

surely resolve the remaining 4 claimed PRs, or at least give us some information on if they think the claimed PR's are a threat.

I agree that on paper the no NK can be best explained as someone protecting the backup cop - this is the obvious conclusion.

Thus, it will be too much of a gamble to lynch the claimed town jailkeeper TODAY.

Yeah we can afford mislynches. We have to pick whichever slot gives us the best PoE basically. I kind of doubt you're in anyone's lynch pool honestly.

I've kind of ruled out Sheep from being likely scum by VCA so I'm basically locked on Grendel today. It's a good infolynch if nothing else. ThinkBig and I are the other most popular VT lynches last I checked.
