Because it's true. Town as a whole cease to care about reason or logic or thought patterns. Hunting by that method, which is the ONLY decent way besides setup and it's scumread. I get tracked/copped/whatever all the time because I am an enigma that people do not try to read because that requires assuming I play the game rather than kissing ass.

So when I see a track because I can't read them, I'm like meh ok whatever. It's not like a D1 track is likely to hit a kill anyway. The only concern I have about it is that "I tracked the dead guy".
