Effective immediately, bringing any kind of spawner through portals are banned. Izak is to return the blaze spawner he has to the nether.

The mechanic is too buggy, and causes duping and other glitches.

EDIT: this restriction applies to Gravity Guns only. Porta-Spawners from MFRL is allowed.

also, for storage pumping ender systems, i'd recommend you toss in a couple cobble in empty enderchests to see if it disappears, before claiming it as yours.

tierce and I built a road. feel free to connect your homes to the road. the road is from my home, to the river near rhino, then veers off, going around the end of river near m and Dav's keep, then to tierce's home.

I was thinking that maybe rhino could build a bridge across the river to connect to the road.

then I found some more for dav/m at 40 -950


notes: Horses CAN'T swim with you on them, so don't dunk them in deep water. They also suck in forests/jungles.

bring 30+ sugar. feed to horse before right clicking (with empty hand) to ride it. once you succeed, press e then equip saddle on horse. just walk normally to move horse while you're riding it. (vrooom)

hold space until the bar hits green/red the release to jump. my horse can jump 3 blocks up and 5 blocks forward. I've read that horses vary between 1.5 up to 5 up, and 3 forward to 12 forward. hope you get a good horse, lol.

they can also be armored. their health also varies. mine has 14, m has 11.

I just saw it for a short time, kneejerk reaction was what i posted.

When i actually read the mod page- it'd have to be there from the beginning, due to how it messes with worlds- The page says that bedrock is removed, and there is no "lowest block before void". That, along with the chunkloading issues and terrain generation issues with EXBL makes it unfeasible for a future update.

If we ever restart the world, we should look at it, tho.

Good news: I have a computer that can run modded.

Bad news: im having an odd problem with my launcher. I'm running mac os x on java 7 and when i open the launcher and try to select private packs, it only shows the toolbar, saying private pack interface and nothing else. Solutions?

Creeper Collateral

Gist of this mod- Creepers still explode, but all the blocks it booms is dropped. None of them will disappear.

The admins feel that this might nerf creepers slightly too much, making them pointless, once god-tier armor is reached. Another concern: You can actually utilize creepers as tnt and profit. This isn't what creepers are about.

I feel that creepers is such a major part of minecraft too.

Maru, you yourself said we need to make the game challenging and don't give players easymode stuff. Nerfing creepers IS easymode stuff, so...

A Nintedo Hard evil Death Course full of Malevolent Architecture. You have to navigate the full thing successfully for a secret prize at the end, but it's VERY hard.

I built one a long time ago for the vanilla server, and it was generally well-recieved, so I built another for this server.

Even if you do not want to try it, I included a spectator section where you can watch others trying it!

IMPORTANT POST HERE:

There is something very important we (the Admin team) think that everyone should be aware of.

Modded MineCraft is not bug proof.

This you know, I've done a bit of research, and I've found that every modded server has its issues. What I'm saying here is that by choosing to play with mods, you accept the possibility for world breaking bugs and corrupted chunks, and whatever else might happen.

The most recent incident (broken tile entities corrupting an entire chunk), resulted in all the residents of ClamCastle (this means 4 of the server's most active players) losing
everything
in their ME Storage system - and that really sucks, but it's not anyone's fault. It was simply a case of mods not playing nice with each other. (This particular bug happened between SecretRooms and Applied Energistics' ME Cable, but due to its nature it's also most likely an error that can and would happen with SecretRooms and ANY irregularly shaped block with an important tile entity attached, like (for example) Thermal Expansion's Redstone Conduits and Liquiducts. tl;dr - this most likely isn't even a bug that COULD be fixed, so it's not even the fault of the Mod Author for "not making their Mod play nice with others") In this situation and others like it, of course the admin team will try everything to rectify the issue, including spawning in missing items.

With every new mod added, comes the possibility for more world breaking errors to happen. With that in mind, what we want from you guys is a discussion on what we want the future of Mafiacraft to be. Here're the options as we see them:

A) A single CONCRETE mod pack, NO additions whatsoever, only updating to different Minecraft versions when every mod has a stable release for the new version of Minecraft. This may result in the most stable and longest lasting world possible, but if the world ever breaks (which it almost certainly still will), we get EVERY POSSIBLE OUNCE OF COMMUNITY INPUT before updating.

THINGS TO DISCUSS:

Will this kind of world stagnate, and will people get bored with it, similarly to what happen near the end of DW20?
Where do we draw the line on additions - right now, with v1.1.1? One possibility here is to have MafiaCraft 2.0 NOW, and have community decide what goes in it from a blank slate up, then after it is finalized, have no more changes EVER.

B) An constantly evolving modpack, adding in new mods, taking out mods, with semi-frequent, open for discussion restarts, the goal being that everyone plays with as much of the fun toys as possible, even if that means taking out old stuff that everyone is very familiar with (ex: giving up on RedPower updating and switching to immibis' Mods; switching ExtraBiomes XL for something like Biomes o' Plenty or Natura) This may result in a lack of long-lasting build projects, and may turn off people, but a benefit would be that you get to try all the cool things you want.

THINGS TO DISCUSS:

Will this kind of world stagnate from lack of playerbase consistency? Will individuals get angry about or embrace trying to learn new Mods on a regular basis?
(again) Where do we draw the line on additions - will we allow people to submit new Mods for consideration every single week? Every other week?
If yes, how can we (the Admin team) best streamline the process for quickly getting community input on Mods while still allowing enough time to get permissions and edit the submission file for the pack's update?
If no, do we open up the Modpack for additions whenever the community feels like it wants Mod X or Mod Z, or do we operate more on a "hands-on" basis, waiting for it to feel like the Modpack could use something new?

C) Somewhere in middle, adding stuff, but with increased risks of bugs, and an unfortunately unstable world with the possibility of resets occurring if anything messes up. This may seem the most attractive option (or maybe it doesn't), but understand this is basically what we have now. The issues we've seen with this are that new problems have shown up and keep showing up, and these are EXTREMELY difficult to deal with on a constant basis.

D) YOUR UNIQUE IDEA HERE

We really need to discuss this, because I and the rest of the Admins do not want you all feeling that your time in this server gets wasted, but at the same time the Admins have ALL invested a lot of time and energy in making this server as good as possible, even if we can't be on to troubleshoot 24/7. We want to play and enjoy stuff too.

Basically, I'm reading it as that the community wants us to keep on doing what we do.

One big thing im gonna suggest- update every 2 weeks, not weekly. We just jam 1.1.1 in for the next update, then have updates in 2 week intervals.

There's a small issue with Zan's- apparently the wrong file got sent for that, but it isnt a problem- Easily fixed by you. Go to this link and download it:

for vanilla- I much prefer my drop grinder- make a vertical 1x1 shaft up 23 blocks, then a little horzional, then a drop of 23 blocks.

have water pushing all mobs in the vertical shaft, then have sign at bottom of that, then water, then sign, then water and so on. make sure water doesn't spill out in main room- use signs to prevent that.

mobs will be tricked on thinking they're drowning and swim upwards to the top of the shaft, where water pushes them to the drop. and since there's a sign blocking water going down, the mobs will just fall down and land at .5 heart or die. if you want auto death, just have the drop be 24 blocks, and put obsidan pipe at the base to collect all drops and put in a chest.

Ok. Heres how to get the pack (1.1.1) working.

Open FTB launcher- Open options, look at the path to the MafiaCraft file it specifies download into. Use that information to find mafiacraft. Open it , go to mine craft, find the CONFIG folder. delete it.

Then download this link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/osdxo ... config.zip , the download for an updated config folder that MUST be used when attempting to connect to the new v1.1.1 server.

Unzip it, and put it in your minecraft folder.

Then you're all good to play.

This config folder will be included in the v1.1.2 fix going out this week. After this week's fix, NO NEW MODS WILL BE ADDED AND NO UPDATES TO THE PACK WILL OCCUR FOR A SOLID MONTH. Period.

The Admins are already working on a v1.1.2 patch to the following issue (which occurred even AFTER extensive testing), but to preempt further FTBlessness and to help you guys get on server faster, we're providing the following fix(es): Traincraft has been deleted. MANY Block ID's were changed as of the last update to several Mods, including Traincraft, and because of the way its worldgen works with ExtraBiomes XL, and because of several changes to default config settings assigned by Forge, the alternative to eliminating Traincraft from the server was either a perfect world restarted from scratch, or a permanently fucked up world (including but not limited to, no more Traincraft Petroleum or Copper - except in Red Rock biomes where it replaces every single visible block except Stone, and the loss of every single Ropes+ Rope currently in the world). Don't worry - it'll stay in the pack though. For those of you who love Traincraft, feel free to use the provided default config file, you just won't see it on-server ever again.

We forgot to set Block.hidden in railcraft configs to 0.

This had the bug that prevented Tinker's smelters from working, along with several other things.

I changed it serverside, and it fixed it, so no worries. We just need to make sure we do that on 1.1.2

So....

M and I are burnt out from being admins. This is becoming less about fun for us, and more about pleasing everyone, and doing stuff for the servers foremost. We cannot do this anymore, and so we're leaving. I'm choosing to do this now, not after MafiaCraft 2.0, to ensure our replacements don't get put in the same bind that we were, having to justify actions made in the past that we might have disagreed with. We're leaving now, so that the next admins get full control of what happens with the future of the servers. This is not something that any individual one of you have caused. We have been burnt out for a while. I'm actually having much more fun playing for myself on KMP, without having to worry about everyone else. call me self centered, hate me if you must, but thats the truth of what i'm feeling.

I've been trying to find the heart to leave for a while now, but things keep on holding me back. That ends now. I'm sorry that there was not much warning about this, but i think you guys deserve dedicated admins who actually play on- server.

I'll help ease the transition where i can, but its now in your hands to decide what happens. Someone needs to volunteer to replace me. I am not forcing this on somebody like it was forced on me.

I'll be playing on KMP from now on, with whomever joins me, but it'll be a dictatorship, with whatever I decide be law. There will be no community input whatsoever. Its my own personal server, and i'll keep it that way. If i am interested, i may eventually play on MafiaCraft, but i have no interest in being admin anymore.

No, issues have not been fixed. But they haven't happened lately.

I would strongly recommend against FTB ultimate- due to existing problem mods (Mystcraft, Thaumacraft) and lack of Tinker's Construct, which many has said they enjoy.

Maestro, could you please send rhino a pm explaining how he can take over with modpack submissions with the FTB team?

Also, I'd recommend you hold off a couple weeks before submission. It'd be a good idea to test the pack you put together before submission. Ask Maru to get you a test server.

I don't understand. You mean completely ignore Mafiacraft and basically submit an entirely new private server pack? Refullfilling all the permission requirements you guys already did when setting up the pack in the first place? That seems... inefficient :(
98% of the permissions are already given.

This way, you have full control of the thing from start to finish without having to rely on us or use us as a crutch, like we had to do partially with maru.

The reason why i left now, and not after 2.0 is because i wanted you to not be gimped by decisions we made in the past.

Doesnt wool cut fall damage? use something other than wool. if just 4 players, could probably use planks- 4 tree types. if more than that, could use logs for the extra 4

huh. I just looked it through again, and know what I discovered? I discovered that the changelog was outdated- talking about the previous update. (specifically- "wild carrots added" -which is already in the pack.)

what changelog were you looking at, because the link you provided is outdated...

EDIT: WTF I'm a derp. I thought the op would be updated with most recent changelog. nope. I scrolled down, uggh.

So I was thinking about trying something new.

I'm gonna make a custom modpack, and play in ssp. This modpack will be tech free, focusing on thaumcraft, tinkers, and worldgen/dimensional mods (Biomes o plenty, Atum, Twilight Forest, and Aether2)

the new thing? I'm gonna play it in hardcore, and I'm gonna write a story about my adventure from the perspective of my player character. (Was thinking about nuzlockes this morning, and I decided I wanted to try one in Minecraft.)

explain compatibility issues to me please. or a link could serve the same purpose.

this is basically a modpack focused on adventuring and exploring- I was under the impression that aether was a new dimenson with more stuff to do there, much like twilight forest and Atum?
