shit I did today that dav saw some of:

finished the farm plateau I had started yesterday (Macchu Picchu-style) that comes right off the Keep, even added support beams
it almost hit the road, so I expanded the road right by that one location a little to the left - it's all good now

because Tierce had a little trouble yesterday getting in, I attached our basement to the road via a tunnel through the mountain...which Maru got creepered on...
it's rather obnoxiously lit up now, but you'll all be safe near the mouth of it forever more.

dav and I went on a mining trip into a small mine he'd set up...that eventually opened up into a MASSIVE cave system that must've stretched all the way to spawn because dav eventually found some Gold he couldn't break and that I could XD I pretty much mined the damn thing to hell, and we are pretty well set on everything...EXCEPT FUCKING DIAMONDS

which dav and I have yet to find a single one of
I think Tierce took them already

so I went to the Nether, mined about 4 stacks of GS Dust, 2 stacks of Quartz (I'll probably just use it for building...) and some Netherrack, killed two Ghasts before I ran out of Arrows (no Tears, damn fuckers) and then got stuck in a Soul Sand meadow while being attacked by a third

oddly enough, the idiot flew down to within Sword's reach so I just whacked him once and he got ded. twas fun. I like the Nether 10x more without the light-red creepy harbingers of death and the semi-uncooperative exploding Ores

Major adventure! Klazam was looking for a new horse and fell with it in a cave. Turns out my missing horse had fallen down the same cave and was still there. I went to meet him and then followed him home (I was considerably inept at it, but...). Thanks again for the help, Klaz. ^_^

in other news i officially quit the ftb server. in the past 24 hours i have lost everything of remote value to me.

a 3-minute span lag on all my actions caused me to lag glitch into a mountain while flying my zeplin, lost my zeplin, all my tinkers shit, and what remained of the little i still valued after my nether trip.

I got a horse

I left 3 tame ones behind tho... I brought the one with the highest health home (13 hearts). Of the ones I left behind, 1 was faster I think, 1 jumped a bit higher, and 1 was one step away from dog food

trying to ride it without feeding it apparently doesn't work for some reason

Just wanted to say, you don't have to feed them. Each time you try to mount one, you raise your chance of taming it by 5%. In the herd of 4 horses, I fed the first one all the sugar to tame it, but I tamed the other 3 just by repeatedly trying to mount them. They throw you off a few times before becoming tame.

You need to try and mount them with your hand empty, otherwise they just rear up without you ever mounting. That's why you fed it all your sugar--because it was either that or rearing up.

Well yeah I *meant* to feed it all the sugar. Each sugar is supposed to raise the chance of taming by 3% - I fed it 30-some sugar so I was able to tame it first try. Since he was a kinda lame horse, thats when I decided to try to tame the others without feeding, even tho klaz said it didn't work.

Did you just say you want me to build you a rollercoaster?

Because I've been wanting to do that for months, but the servers haven't been stable long enough for me to try. I could probably build a better one on FTB with connecting trains and all, but rails are much easier to get on vanilla.

The maze and the roller coaster were to be the 2 biggest attractions at Rhinoland. Maybe I will revisit the idea, but I still have to decide whether to build it in FTB or the new vanilla server
