Charon' Mafia RuleSet

ONE: FUNDAMENTALS

I) All site-wide rules apply. Read and respect them.
II) There is no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
III) Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, backup-moderator, or fellow players. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
IV) Be courteous and respectful to all your fellow players and the moderating team.
V) Play to your Win Condition.

TWO: DAY PHASE (DP)

I) Each DP shall have a two week deadline.
II)

Votes must be bolded or they shall not be counted.

Abbreviating someone's name is acceptable, so long as I can discern who you were voting for without trouble.
III)

Unvoting is required.

IV) Once you have reached a simple majority (half of all living players plus one) that person's fate is sealed and they shall be lynched. Unvoting cannot change their fate.
V)If half the living players approve a No Lynch (

Vote: No Lynch

), then no player shall be lynched and the game shall enter Night Phase. If deadline is reached and no one has received a simple majority of the votes, no one shall be lynched.
VI) Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I arrive and post a death scene. All players may continue to post during Twilight.
VII) If you have failed to post for over 48 hours, I will send you a prod. Failure to respond to this prod within 48 hours will result in the replacement of that player. Force-replacing of flakers/rule-breakers will be occur at my discretion.
VIII) A deadline extension may be granted; just ask.
IX) Votes and Unvotes shall not count in Twilight.

THREE: NIGHT PHASE (NP)

I) NP shall last three days.
II) All groups with Quicktopics (QTs) will be able to converse during the NP.
III) Any role or faction with night abilities may choose to use them by PM-ing the mod with their choice.
IV) If no action is received, no action will be taken. All actions received after the deadline has passed will not be valid.
V) Night Action submissions will be accepted starting in the Twilight Phase.

FOUR: CAPITAL OFFENSES

I) Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, or backup-moderator. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
II) There is to be no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
III) I will use the color

The following is a list of outlawed shenanigans:

Once during the game, you may target another player. That player will automatically be converted into a hydra account, and will be joined by two players that are pre-determined by the mods.

A

new day dawned on Olympus, but the sun was blocked behind dark clouds and flashes of lightning. Hail the size of boulders crashed around the Mount, as the Greek Pantheon awoke to a slaughter. Dead bodies lay scattered across the Mount. Many of the bodies were unrecognizeable- mutilated beyond recognition. Hiding your identities under guise of simple humans, you gather all of the bodies together and bury them- a first for the Greek Gods of Olympus. The only bodies that you identified were found in the arena. Amongst unintelligable symbols and foreign characters, you find a grim message written on the wall in Greek blood:

'Without Victory, you are doomed to Defeat.'

-|Dark Days Begin|-

W

ith no warning a universal darkness fell on the world, covering Mount Olympus in a dark haze. As darkness fell and the holy city began falling into this unnatural darkness you all look around and panic. Nightfall so soon? In a frenzy of activity the mob assembles and focuses on Baby Spice. As the council of dieties devolved into a desperate mob Baby Spice begs and pleads, crying for mercy.

As you press her head down onto the gold-plated pedestal and bring the axe to bear you second-guess whether the immortals of the world were actually immortal. The mob screamed for blood, and Baby Spice screamed as the axe was brought down on her. As the axe tastes its first entree of immortality, blood spurts from Baby Spice's decapitated body, splashing upon nearby bystanders. As you wipe your face clean with the back of your hand you see that the only colors left in the world are black and white. The dreariness of a world without color sinks in, and you wonder if life could ever be the same without it.

As you look at your hands you realize that her blood was the all that remains that contained color- dyed the colors of the rainbow.

he crack of lightning tears you from this scene as you are pulled from your dream, back into a world of fear and rage. You jolt up from your bed in fear, and realize your bedsheets are burning.The roof above your head is caved in- a hole the size of a boulder pours over-saturated sunlight into your room. Sitting at the foot of your bed is a large, flaming boulder, burning your bedsheets and anything it touches. Scalding hot to the touch, the boulder burns bright red and orange. You rush outside in a daze- how could things have gotten this bad this fast? You look up to the heavens and see fire falling from the sky- meteors, fireballs-

"FIRE!!!" someone screams. "It's destroying EVERYTHING!" You turn and see a group of your friends rushing to and fro with buckets of water. You form into groups and- dodging flaming projectiles- set out to put out these fires. From one house to the next you scurry, saving people trapped in their beds and lone deities fighting the unquenchable fire on their own. After a quick head-count you realize some of you are missing still- lost in the fire, perhaps?

You first visit the Temple of

Snow_Bunny

, and find it completely engulfed in flames. You all grab a bucket and prepare to assault the raging inferno when someone points to a tree nearby. You all drop your buckets and race over to the tree, where you find Snow_Bunny. There were signs of a struggle everywhere. A trail of blood led from her bedroom- overturned in the quarrel- to the tree. Her blood covered the trunk of the tree and all the grass nearby. Her body was cut into ribbons- sliced and diced in a manic frenzy. "This is not befitting of a god," one of you mutters- she was a sexy goddess.

Olympus still burns as you approach the Temple of

. The foilage and grass still burned as you enter the temple, yet you find no blood anywhere. After a thorough search, even Plum's body is missing. It was only when one of you pulled back the curtain on her bed that you saw her- or what remained of Plum- naught but a pile of sand, and a single flower. A beautiful flower of Olympus- and The Underworld- has been plucked from our hearts.

-|Playing with the Big Girls|-

With fire falling from the heavens, many claims are brought forth- but none stand up to the damning case brought against AurorusVox. The group quickly agrees that AurorusVox must die, and soon the group finds another candidate for death. They drag ConSpiracy down to the gallows, and prepare for the dual execution. As they lift the rainbow-stained axe over AurorusVox's head, he lets out a scream, shaking the ground and splitting the axe from the shaft. He then withers away into his clothes, and a small cat is seen scurrying out of his robes. The cat growls menacingly, then swells in size until it stands as tall as the best of you. AurorusVox laughs as he pulls out a broadsword and rushes the nearest bystander. Narrowly avoiding death, the player ducks from the blow, and the broadsword cuts clean through a statue of Ares, sending marble chunks spraying into the crowd. ConSpiracy, meanwhile, is fitted into a noose.

AurorusVox leaps off of a nearby pillar and charges into the thick of the crowd. One of you, unafraid and unwavering, throws a spear at AurorusVox and pins him to the wall. Straight through his heart, you move closer and attempt to ensure his status as less-than-living. AurorusVox pulls the spear from his heart, and drops in on the ground. "We have nine lives, you know." he purrs, claws dripping with blood. He charges you again, one life short, and you repel his attack again.

But this time, someone has the fresh idea to behead the kitty. As the execution-axe flies through the air a rainbow appears behind it, almost as if it were guided.

AurorusVox' head is severed straight from his neck, and lands in the sand as his body collapses into a bloody heap.

AurorusVox, Bastet, Egyptian Goddess of Protection and Cats (Aligned with the Egyptian Pantheon), Lynched Day Two!

You quickly shovel AurorusVox' body into the burial sands, and clean up the surrounding blood.

Your attention then turns to ConSpiracy, whose time on the gallows comes to a close when the lever is pulled. Gagged and bound, he falls through the hole in the platform, kicking and squirming like a butterfly attempting to break free from its cocoon.

he submits to his untimely fate, and breathes his last so far from home...

aking up from a peaceful sleep, you leave your temple and enter Olympus proper. The weather is an unremarkable sunshine with a few whiffs of clouds in the sky- like the grey in an aging man's hair. Olypmus was getting older, and now only the eldest of the gods remembered the time before: The Titans, Kronus, the creation of the world... all so long ago. And the events of yesterday have surfaced one of the many other pantheons in the world vying for power.

As you all enjoy the sunshine and chirping birds you almost forget why you are here. Gathered in the plaza, a quick head-count reveals

ecerint revealed a powerful gift from a mysterious source: a nice, big, shiny piece of death weighing in at a hundred thousand volts. There were a volley of claims back and forth: screams of death and destruction, laments for dead siblings and parents, and cries of retribution.

Iecerint stood from his seat, hefted his might stick o' death into the air, and began screaming about some past life where he was killed with a thunderbolt by some chap named "Jack". With a loud roar he charged Dekes, and ran him through with the lightning bolt. Blue lightning coursed through Dekes and his body jolted and contorted due to the overload of electric signals. Iecerint let go of the bolt as it seemingly melted into Dekes' body, shuddering to see the man die in a strangely familiar sort of agony.

Dekes crumbed to the marble floor, skin and clothes burned away to reveal what used to be a proud son of Egypt. A bird's eye view couldn't save him from hot lightning.

Nachomamma8 didn't say much. His wife had been slain days before by another's hand, and his plans seemed to fall to dust around him- just like her. "I have no quarrel with you." he said. "I want Persephone's killer punished."

"Yes, but we don't think

." one of the entourage replied.

"Really now?" Nachomamma8 said. "Then I take it you can do this?" With a wave of his hand the ground tore out from under him, and the souls of the dead dieties appeared now in front of them- Greek, Egyptian, some from ages before their time.

"Then bring them back!" one of you cried. "For their sake bring them back!"

Nachomamma8's smile disappeared. "I would... if I could..."

"So you're not as powerful as you let on." a third said.

"IF I COULD BRING HER BACK I WOULD!" Nacho raged. "I LOVED HER. IT WAS ZEUS WHO GAVE ME THIS HELLISH POWER DOWN HERE."

"I've had enough of his lies and deceit- no true Greek would raise a hand against another." a fourth said.

"Funny," Nacho said. "And I thought brothers would never damn another." Nacho spread his arms. "Well then, come at me. Let's see how the 'true' Olympians commit fratricide."

The ever-shrinking assembly charged Nachomamma8, bound him, and dragged him to the chopping-block. As the executioner lifted the axe to behead Nacho, the condemned man, Lord of the Damned, loosed all his anger and rage and hatred, screaming out "ZEUS DAMN YOUUUU!"

As the axe severed the head of Nachomamma8 from his body, his lifeblood bled out black- like the soul they said he had.

The four that remained gathered around, and saw only the deformed figure of Magna, no birdman or dungbeetleman.

"It was truly a noble sacrifice," one of you said, closing his eyes.

"Yes, but was it worth it?"

"Either that or your Ecstasy readings come from an entirely different astral plane of thought," ooba says, going over the past results one last time.

"I just think he's bullshitting us," LordChronos says, rising.

"AlmasterGM what do you think?" ooba says, putting down his records.

AlmasterGM looked up from his nap. "I'm horrible at these tough-decision-things, I'll follow you guys."

Iecerint stood. "I've heard enough. LordChronos is for death."

"Well yeah I'm the God of Death but that doesn't condemn me-" LordChronos started.

"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-" AlmasterGM shrieked, leaping up from his chair.

ooba and Iecerint charged LordChronos as well, and right as they were to cut him down LordChronos outstretched his hands and held them at bay with a dark pulsating energy.

"You foolish Greeks," LordChronos said, now hovering above the floor. "You are doomed to be forgotten at the ending of this age. A new order is rising, one of monotheism, hope, and love. Yet all you do is quarrel, carry on with your violence, adultery, and hatred. Your houses for the immortal and the dead are built with marble and gold while your people live in dirt shacks and cry out for your help- AND YOU DO NOTHING!"

"IT WAS OUR GOAL TO UNITE THE WORLD," LordChronos bellowed, "BRING IT TOGETHER UNDER ONE BANNER, AND DEFEAT THIS MYSTERIOUS NEW FOE BEFORE HE CAN DIVIDE US."

"The age of Gods is over, and if you fail to please the people the mere memory of you will fade away into the sand..."

He landed back on the ground, and the barrier dissipated. "So, kill me here- but know that you will only linger here so long as your people believe in you.

"But mark my words," LordChronos said, pointing a sickly finger at the Greeks, "Your doom is nigh."

The trio stood, contemplating his words. Finally, Iecerint stepped forward. "ITS WIFOM," he cried, "ALL WIFOM!" And with that he threw his diamond goblet at LordChronos, shattering the man's skull into a million pieces.

18. LordChronos, Anubis, Egyptian God of Cemeteries and Embalming (Aligned with the Egyptian Pantheon), Lynched D8!

The skies burst forth with sunshine, and color returned to the world as the trio of Greek Gods cried out in joyous voices. "We've won!" they cried, "We won!"

After three minutes of hugging, laughing, and bliss they calmed down. It was only them left on Olympus.

"Sooooooo," ooba said, "What do we do now?"

There was silence.

"SO GUYS I JUST GOT THIS MESSAGE FROM MY BRO DOWN IN DELPHI," Iecerint said, "THERE's THIS RAD PARTY DOWN THERE AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF HOT GIRLS AND BOOZE. YOU GUYS IN?"

"LETS DO IT." AlmasterGM said, readjusting his toga.

"Why the hell not?" ooba said.

And the trio flew down to Delphi to celebrate their victory- by doing exactly what they've done for thousands of years.

Oh yes, I'll watch over your people, and your sons here. They say that a Jesus was born in Nazareth today, and it marks the end of our era."

He laughed. "We'll see what happens."

NACHO/AGAR, I APOLOGIZE. I FUCKED UP YOUR SUPERPOWER. I typed it up incorrectly in the Role PM, so it wasn't half as cool as it was supposed to be. Instead of just serving as a Neighborize/Doc protection on SD, you should have:
1) Removed him from the game thread entirely, rendering him unable to post there, also having no vote
2) Roleblocking him entirely, minus SUPERS
3) Prevent him from posting in other QTs
4) But yeah also protecting him while he's there
5) Neighborizing him into the Underworld

I can assure you it wasn't that one question that repelled me, I know enough about greek mythology (after all I was in the 1.0 version ). Some of ther others seemed rather dumb, though.
