Game Rules:
Gameplay:
You may not post Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind.
There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM or a PM from the Mod specifically allows it. Players with roles allowing communication may only communicate outside the thread during the Night phase (or as directed by the Mod via PM).
If you have a role with a Night action, your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline, you will forfeit your actions and none will be made for you.
In order for all players to play at least one game day, this game will start with a Day phase. Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins.
As a general rule you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:
A simple majority of all living members must agree on one person for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down).
Once you have reached a simple majority, no further unvoting will change someone’s fate.

You may

- a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.
Deadlines may be implemented if I feel that discussion is lagging. At deadline, ½ the original number of votes will be required for a lynch to occur. In case of a tie, the person who first received the required number of votes will be lynched. If this number is not met, a No Lynch will occur. There will be no reduced number of votes in LyLo.
Once a player is lynched, the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; the lynched player may not post during twilight but all other living players may continue to post.
Once you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post, except for a brief “Bah!”-type post.

If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
Questions/requests for the Mod may be posted in-thread.
Please bold all requests so that I don’t miss them.
Terminology and answers to common questions can usually be found by a perusal of the
. If you can't find the answer to a question, feel free to ask!
Prods of missing players will be issued upon request or as the Mod sees fit. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice.
Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill (which may be accompanied by moving the game to Night phase).
If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread.
Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

The F11 setup is the current game format used in Newbie games. To prevent the development of game-breaking strategies, these Newbie Games are Semi-Open, wherein the actual game setup is randomly chosen from one of four possible setups as detailed below:
If either of the first two setups are in play, and the situation occurs where the Goon is lynched first, the Roleblocker will still be able to submit both night kills and roleblocks (roleblocking is a function of the Roleblocker; night kills are a function of the scum team as a whole).
These are the Role PMs that have potentially been sent to the players:
You are a member of the Mafia along with your partner,
name
. Since your plot to quietly overtake the town has failed, you will attempt take it by force by eliminating the others until you outnumber the populace.
During the day, try to blend in with the normal Townies, and attempt to get someone lynched.
During the NIGHT cycle ONLY, you may talk with your fellow Mafia (via PM) and choose another player in the town to kill that night.
You may communicate privately with your fellow Mafia up until the game thread is opened. Once the game begins, all outside communication must cease until the night cycle.
You win when the number of Mafia equals or exceeds the number of remaining Town players, whether you survive to the end or not.

I love you people. Everyone is all nice and happy to be here.
So you wanted to go to a game convention and play mafia. Little did you know that the mafia is real. They are hiding within your group. Ready to kill just for fun.

There are 9 players. Can you spot the people that have a glint in their eyes or blood on their hands?

After a weird day and a rough night. People start to go back to the game room to talk about the events of yesterday. However not everyone is here.
Seems broncofanimd was shot during the middle of the night.
I search his pocket and flip his card for everyone to see.

We've now got two fairly big issues:
1) Mufasa clearly violated rule 1 of the rules by "quoting" the pm. NO ONE ELSE CORRECT HIM BY QUOTING THE ACTUAL VANILLA PM. Quoting mod pms is a mod-killable offense.

Morning arrives a bit late. Sorry from the mod weekends are crazy and days starting I'm still trying to function.
Anyways on with the show.
People start to come into the game room. It looks like many a happy face is seen from people as they enter from a successful day yesterday.
It seems one is missing.
Bladewing Vorox is found in his room shot in the head.
Oh poor Bladewing Vorox and what is worse is a medical kit next to him.
I search his pocket and sure enough I find.

This vote count is brought to you with the news that the mod will be on vacation for 3 days starting Friday. I will ask Vel to just check on you guys and if a lynch occurs to inform you of the verdict in my absence.

The 3 players point to qwints. They do not believe his cop claim and after kison points to the play of hohum/mufusa the Gabe hammers the vote home.
Did the players make the right choice.
The mod is quiet as she takes qwints to the noose.

The noose snaps and the card falls to the ground.

Good effort from qwints fake claiming cop.
There was no cop this game. You had 2 goons, 1 doctor and 6 townies.
I always like to see the town figure things out without a cop help. This creates a very even playing field I feel for both parties.
Good job catching the last scum
Sorry to Mufusa. It was not something I wanted to do but Vel fells that is teaches a lesson in what not to do for newbies. Playing by the rules is what matter as well as winning the game.

For the record, I suggested the Modkill course of action for two reasons. Yes this is a semi-open setup and the role PMs are available on the first page.
But, this is a teaching game. There are very few games on this site where you are allowed to "quote" communication from the Mod. This is a bad message to send to the Newbie players. The second reason was that farside had put in her rules set that any real or faked Mod communication is a mod-killable offense.
It's up to farside if she wants to change that for the rest of her games that start at a later date. But, in keeping with the fact that quoting Mod communication is, 95% of the time, a Mod-killable offense I would suggest that she not allow people to do so in her Newbie games. I'm not going to regulate every Newbie game, but she asked so I gave my thoughts on the matter. If anyone wants to discuss this further give me a shout.
And I never did check this game yesterday. Sorry about letting the lynch go

I enjoy modding for the most part. Hope I didnt' get to hard on the prods. I like to see games active so I prod without asking most time.
