I disagree. I'm under no obligation to explain something as soon as I vote.
That's the first time I've heard that. Any game I've ever been in, if someone votes and doesn't give an explanation, at least one person hounds down on them 'em demanding an explanation.
@Jake from State Farm what would be the advantage of not explaining a vote? I would think it's in the town's best interest to know.
Yea that actually happens and that's what should happen. People should question the people who vote without reason. What shouldn't happen though is people shouldn't scum read somebody for it (which happens and is pretty stupid cause it's not alignment indiciative)
I'm not sure if you would call it an advantage but it's just one of these things I do to stir the pot. It forces people to interact with me and by doing that I can kind of get a read on people. I can tell who's really curious like townies should be and who don't really care and just want to make a lot of noise. Also, what are your thoughts on Dunn -- as in, why not vote him after your back-and-forth with him where you said he was lying?
Well yes I think it makes him likely town which is why I said that vote is probably not a good one.
I'm not voting Dunn cause I like my vote where it's at now. I will say dunn's avoidance of me now proves he was just doing that for show and has no real interest in trying to find out my reasoning and that worries me.

Well for starters he tries to say that the mascot for an American car insurance company who speaks with a British accent is somehow better than me.
But that aside his early posts were kind of meh. I didn't like how he answered on dunn's behalf. I personally can't stand when people do that. His and dunn's early interaction feels too
Cheeky but that's just a guy thing. His unvote on me without anything else kind of bugs me but that's just a "me" thing. His vote on Dunn seems to come out of left field for me and his certainty of scum really struck me as odd. At first I thought it was scum pushing on town Dunn to make it look like he was contributing but it actually now looks more like distancing to me. He knows his push is so ludicrous that it'll never get steam and people wil never think they are scum together. The post that sealed it for me is post 159. The whole if I'm wrong lynch me Schtick is played out. Nobody gets lynched for being wrong day 1 and even n00bs know that. As for the 3rd person. It's pretty obvious if you read my posts. Robert is the 3rd. He said he was scum last time we played and I figured he was scum but didn't get him lynched. When I get to a computer I'll verify what he was saying but just reading his words at face value there's no way you can say he was insincere. His explanation has more detail then I would expect from scum. You can say it's not true but I'm not sure how you can say it's insincere. This also kind of confirms that you are afraid of him. I'm actually not wrong about reads lists at all. Clearly you don't know enough about how to play mafia and the art of manipulation. Being able to manipulate town is the best way to win as scum and the more info the scum has, the more they are able to manipulate town.ShowThings I've learned.

but town gains nothing from list reads imo. Nobody really cares who you think are town and null. It's a waste of time that could be spent better elsewhere. I have never won a game because somebody told me who they thought were town or null. I have never seen any game won because somebody told everyone who they thought were town or scum.
When a game is in mylo and town decides to NL (happens often) to get from even numbers to odd numbers do you know what they actually tell you NOT to do? They tell you not to give any reads because if you do mafia knows who they can kill and who they can leave alive for mislynches.
The same thing applies on each day phase. If scum knows who people think are scum and that person isn't one of them they leave that person alive to be mislynched later. People generally viewed as town are the people they target for nKs
without this info scum have to guess. so bottom line is don't give scum more info than they already have. Say who you think are scum and that's it. If you think somebody is town don't say anything unless it comes up as a direct question.ShowThings I've learned.

Re:317- cause he was directly interacting with me and I was trying to get him to ask the right question and instead he changed his attention and never really talked to me again until after I made that comment. That to me seems like he decided to avoid me.
320 - I see no reason for any town to say "if I'm wrong lynch me" cause in this game town are wrong a lot. So yes there's a big difference and his comment was unnecessary and I've seen people write that off as a town tell before.
335-336 - those aren't bad posts with faulty logic. Try harder
Ignoring 359/361 cause it's not game related. My stance on list reads is one I've had way before this game and will continue way after this game (aka forever)
385 - definitely floof. He misrepresented ha's original vote and he is attacking him for voting his town read (pretty sure that's called something but can't remember what. Chainsaw maybe?) dunn's vote looks bad to me because he doesn't really give a reason. I don't really care if people don't give reasons but when that person took issue with me not giving one, to turn around and do the same thing himself is kind of scummy. It's also at this point that the HA wagon is starting to grow so yeah don't like those last 2 votes. But really I don't think anyone has made a good reason for their HA vote. Kaiser all but admitted he voted him because he made some points against keyser which just reeks of omgus (even though ha wasn't actually voting him at the time).ShowThings I've learned.

Btw Dunn leaves his scum read if bins and admits his vote was a bandwagon vote. That's basically admitting he's being opportunistic. First, wow that's a lot of work.
Second here's my responses.
169- see this post - http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 4#p7872874
201 - good thing I'm not posting to appease you. Don't really care what you or anyone else likes
229 - try again. I wasn't questioning the vote on zack. I was questioning the town read of Zach.
233 - this is an awesome post. Clearly you have poor judgement
235 - my apologies you were voting him but my point still stands. It wasn't a bandwagon vote.
241 - you clearly don't get what I was trying to do. Simpleton
243 - haven't you figured it out already simpleton? I'm not worried about how I look. Only scum have to worry about appearance. I just have to go out and play my game.
245 - sorry simpleton but I'm totally town. Being abrasive and hard headed isn't scummy let alone a scum tell so try again.
255 - first, I'm not required to be "helpful". Sure it's preferred but not required. Second, I'm not playing anti-town. Just cause you don't understand the concept of reaction testing that's not my issue simpleton. Learn to play more mafia games before you act like you know what you are talking about.
276 - just cause town should only concern themselves with finding scum doesn't mean they aren't allowed to comment on other things. Cmon bro.
The rest are already answerd.
Good night.ShowThings I've learned.

wow robert actually made a good point. I decided to fact check and now I want to ask HA a question.
@HA, can you explain why you think it's possible mafia is taking advantage of robert's early vote like you mention in these 2 quotes
In post 281, heuristically_alone wrote:irst off, I found it so strange that so many people read Jack so early on as scum or town based on his vote in post 13 against Robert. H_A is my number 2 scumspect after ira, and I didn't feel as if my vote on ira was accomplishing much (there's only so many times I can hear him call himself town).
So I was looking at the reasons you gave for HA and I kind of have some issues with it.
In post 357, Jaack wrote:h_a - Do not like his reads in 281 like at all. Says he doesn't have enough content to judge me fully (?), but feels everyone on my wagon is scummy. Reads to me like someone who knows I'm town and wants to leave as many option open in terms of a future lynch on me. (Keyser saw a similar thing in 311) If he doesn't participate on hypothetical future wagon, then he can point back here and say 'told you so' while also not committing to a full town read on me. Also don't like how he doesn't give reads on ira, dunn, or keyser in that post. He did give a read on ira earlier so I can kind of understand leaving that one out, but leaving out dunn and keyser is weird, as neither are exactly inactive, and h_a had even interacted with dunn significantly before that. If one of {h_a, dunn, keyser} flips scum its probably worth going back and checking out the other two based on this post alone, even though I'm townreading the other two players here pretty hard.
Looking over this.
First - His reads and your reads aren't that different. I mean sure there are some people he has scummy and you have as town and vice versa but it looks like a bunch of people you both sort of agree on. I am not sure why him having different reads than you makes him suspicious. Clearly not everyone is going to share your viewpoint so scum reading him for that is just plain stupid. here is what I put together comparing reads between the 2. The bolded names are where the reads are the same or pretty close to each other which makes me wonder if Jaack actually compared ha's reads to his own.
Spoiler:
Second - I am not sure what about his post makes you think he knows you are town, but he did say he has you in his town pile so i don't see why you have such an issue with him looking at the people voting you for scum. Seems like you should be doing the same thing yourself (no idea if you actually did or not)
Third - yes Kaiser made the same mistake as you did and it actually looks like you just stole Keyser's thought about him knowing you are town. There is absolutely nothing wrong with somebody thinking a player is town and questioning people on that wagon. Keyser calls it conf. bias but so what, people do it all the time and there isn't really anything suspicious about it. How either of you come to the conclusion that he somehow KNOWS you are town is beyond me.
Fourth -In post 357, Jaack wrote:Also don't like how he doesn't give reads on ira, dunn, or keyser in that post.
why didn't you ask him for them? Anyways as you mention he does give a read on ira previously (town). he also gave a read on Dunn (town), and also for keyser (while he doesn't actually come out and say town or scum, he basically adds on to Dunn's read of Keyser from post 82 where dunn says he thinks keyser is mafia. I believe he also thinks keyser is mafia because he provides reasons for why dunn has come to that conclusion.
So in a nutshell - You and ha have very similar reads, I see nothing that makes it seem like he KNOWS you are town but has you as a town read, and he does basically give a read on everyone.ShowThings I've learned.
