Darkness...

The little village community had lain undisturbed for years, living in relative tranquility by a small river from which the crops were irrigated and the cattle were fed. However, recently dark things have happened to your little village.

It started slowly. Livestock disappearing, mostly. Then things got nasty. People started going missing, gone without a trace from their beds. As time went by, it seems the creatures got bolder, leaving their victims dead where they lay, wantonly leaving body parts strewn in grisly messages of fear.

Eventually, something had to be done. The mayor called a meeting in the local town hall. Only twelve people came, all the rest were dead, it seems. As the last person entered the hall, he drew the giant doors together and locked them.

"People! Our village is doomed. We cannot hope to return to the life we once knew. However, we can ensure that none of these creatures escape unpunished for these vile deeds. This door will not be unlocked until the last of the monsters lies dead before me. More blood will be spilled before safety is found."

RULES (heavily "inspired" by various other mods):

1) Don't break the spirit of the rules. If you can see a loophole, that's all well and dandy, but it'll probably still get you modkilled.

2) The game will start in day. Until all confirmations are received (which should be done by PM), any groups who can nighttalk may talk.

3)Don't quote any PMs I send you. Doing so will result in an instant modkill and a banning from any future games I run.

. This isn't a hard and fast rule, but it makes things easier for me and I can't guarantee your vote will be counted if posted otherwise.

5)When a majority of votes are reached, the player will be lynched. You may post in twilight, however if you are dead you may not post any more information relevant to the game. Dead men tell no tales. Feel free to post a "bah" post though.

6)Please send any nightchoices you send as quickly as possible. Long night phases are no fun for anyone.

7)Do not edit any posts you make.

8 )Don't post invisibly or in incredibly small font. There's not much point, anyway.

9)Please let me know in advance if you are going to be away. If you are inactive without warning for 48 hours, I will send a prod. If that prod is not picked up in a further 48 hours, I will search for a replacement. If you manage to contact me before I find a replacement, you can continue with your place in the game, but after I've found one it's too late.

10) Don't imitate the mod. You look stupid and you're not fooling anyone.

11)Just because I may have forgotten rules doesn't mean you can break them.

Well, we've heard from everyone except ibtuten/replacement. I don't know if our random votes are getting us anywhere. I certainly don't have any good leads yet. xyzzy's "pretending to take me seriously" ranks about a 2 on the 1-10 scumminess scale. Only other thing I see worth mentioning is that morik just happened to place a "random" vote for the poster just before him. Any other ideas?
