Assassin in the Palace


This game is kind of weird; it's the scum who is in the dark.

There is 1 King.
There are 3 (or more) Guards. They all know who the King is. If the King is lynched or venge killed, the King and Guards all lose. They must lynch the Assassin without having him then kill the King.

There is 1 Assassin. He wins if the King dies, even if he dies himself. He gets a vengeful kill if lynched, but he doesn't get a nightkill. (No nights.)

The Assassin can make a
suicide attack: _______
if he believes he knows who the King is and doesn't want to wait for the town to lynch him.

Obviously we have to find the scum without letting the scum find the king.

All townies have one piece of common information: the name of the king.

I'm right now thinking of a way to encode that name so that the assassin can not deduce who the king is while we use the code to deduce who the assassin is.

This can be rather tough.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe lynching randomly might be a good idea. It gives us a 1 in 6 chance of winning plus it prevents anyone from finding the king. Does anyone agree?
