Argh. Back from real life...
I seem to have not missed much.
I meant to do this earlier:
unvote:Zoneace
I still think you were a bit hasty with the L-2, but considering how annoyingly persistent Capricious is still being, I now no longer blame you.
Speaking of Capricious, why is he still pushing the point? I'm not liking that Khelvaster chimed in.
On that, Thesp makes an interesting point that Capricious could be a townie. While I don't necessarily agree with it, I'm starting to think that either Capricious or Khelvaster is scum. Probably not both because that would involve some really dumb scum basically outing themselves together (unless we have 2 scum factions). One of them could be tryin to take advantage of the others ridiculous idea. If that's the case I'm leaning toward Khelvaster for not talking for a while, and then chiming in with th call for a claim.
Ooba: your refusal to explain your post restriction is noted. I will lay off for now, but thats only because I have a theory about what your post restriction is. I shall be watching your posts to see if there is a pattern.-

I agree that it's unlikely that they're scum together.Mirth wrote:On that, Thesp makes an interesting point that Capricious could be a townie. So you want to lynch the one person who has hung themselves out by stating they believe there are no vanilla pro-townies in the game, thus effectively admitting I have both a name and a power. Explain please?ShowAs Town: 3/8

Agreed - I hadn't read it as such, and claiming such now doesn't make sense except to say "BOO! Go away!". I'll also note that the last person I saw that suggested there were no vanilla townies were in a game was scum.Mirth wrote:

My comment boiled down to "why the heck did you do that and stop it." Now you went and crossed the rhetoric line and softclaimed. Softclaims are bad, bad, very bad. Now we have a problem. Do we left the softclaim slide? Or do we force a full claim out of you so you can't use other people as a guage for what roles are available?WhoMe? wrote:

Hmmm...hard choice. I thnk soft claims are a cardinal sin...but then again I'm also pretty much anti-claiming until its unavoidably necessary.-

Fair enough, but I don't see that I've done much wrong (in the second post) that I hadn't already done wrong in the first post.Mirth wrote:

I was suspicious of Capricious at first, because of him pushing the massclaim. I may not have worded it explicitely until somewhere on page 8, but I was voting him before that.ooba wrote:Sierra :I see you voted for khel in your last post. "He has yet to provide us with any of his thoughts on who might be scum." - Before that post, you didn't give any insights into who you thought were scum too
Khelvaster wrote:I am of the firm opinion that a mass nameclaim is a good idea in most themed games. As a result, I consider everyone who didn't want a mass nameclaim anti-town.
So is that your excuse not to suspect anyone at all? Surely you can find something to go on in the last 10 pages. I don't think you're really trying.Khelvaster wrote:And this, if you didn't get it, means that my opinion over the last bunch of pages is fairly void. I can't very well suspect half the town.
Thesp, I read back to look why you are so focused on seeing WhoMe? lynched and all I could find is that you find him wishy-washy on massclaiming and hypocritical in accusing Capricious of doing the same (post #147). These aren't really strong scum-tells in my opinion. Is there something I'm missing or is that really all you're going on?
I've never been in a game where there was a soft-claim on day 1 before. I understand why it's a bad thing, but I'm not sure forcing a full claim out of WhoMe? would be the best solution. I would have no objections to letting it slide. It might leave the town in doubt about him, but it would also leave the scum with some uncertainty when it comes to selecting their nightkill. I'd like to hear more people respond to this though.-

Whome, what you did wrong is confirmed it. Unless you're scum yourself, you just basically painted a big "kill me" sign on your back for tonight. (Well...there are other factors involved here, but I'm not going to speculate because that might make things worse). You also softclaimed. "I'm an unspecified power role" which opens up a can of worms for WIFOM and counterclaiming in the future.
Now then, I urge you to say nothing more until there's a town concensus on what the best course of action in regards to your soft claim should be.-

What I saw was that the very fact we had people standing up against mass claim is the reason that it was bad. Had we been more bold, we could've claimed and scum wouldn't be any wiser. But because people are protective of their names, it would stand to reason that they feel their name corresponds to a common role, though in practicality, scum would still have a hard time deducing their role.-

The town will get more from a massclaim. If someone is, say Wonder Woman, how will that help the scum at all?
Meanwhile, there is a chance we can be helped. If someone claims Wonder Woman, but someone else is really Wonder Woman, then we just got ourselves a scum in the bag. This is why massclaim=good.Lag actually does exist in real life. For proof, look no further than Jesus: When he died, it took him three *days* to respawn.-

Just wondering what is it that has so enchanted Capricious and Khelvaster to mass claims?? And how can people be so sure there are no vanilla's in the game? ATM, i am more than happy with a Capricious or Khelvaster lynch, and i will hammer given the chance considering the proximity to deadline. So for now, unvote vote: KhelvasterTown - 3/5

Unvote, vote roffman.
This is a game to find scum, not to debate, and we can't base our suspicions on whether we agree with one another or not. roffman is just slipping by by siding with the majority on the issue.-

Roffman, how come yu've had nothing much else to say before this.
I'm not going to argue the stupidity of massclaiming any longer because its obvious the two of you are willfully ignoring everything said against them. I don't think both of you are scum, as that woud be too fortunate, but one of you most probably is. I am leaning toward Khelvaster at the moment, but not by much.
Capricious: you never answered my question 3 posts ago. Also do *you* have a reason to vote Roffman now? Can you explain why he's the best candidate for scum?-
