Quack Mafia


Mod: Aimee/Thesp

Deadline:
Monday October 9.


Quack Mafia is an open setup featuring
three Mafia, six Doctors and three Quack Doctors
. The Quack Doctors aren't told they are quacks, and instead think they are doctors (they will receive the doctor PM). If a quack targets another doctor, the doctor will die instead of being protected. The quack's killing does not affect Mafia members. If a quack targets another quack, the latter quack will be killed.

You win when at least half of the living players are mafia, or when nothing can prevent the same.
9 players (the Doctors plus the Quack Doctors) will receive the Doctor Role PM:
You are a Doctor. Each night, you may PM me the name of another player. That player will be protected from a single kill effect that night.

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

The Basics

Lynching, Twilight and Deaths

[6] Once you are dead you may not post, except for a single post consisting of “bah, go town/scum” or something similar. No death FoSes OR "Remember who I said was scum" are allowed. You're dead. Stop talking.
[7] Once a lynching vote has been cast, you're in Twilight. Posting is prohibited, even if the thread's not locked yet. I'll permit an honest mistake.
[8] A modkill takes the place of the day's lynch.

Deadlines and Inactivity

[9] A deadline may be imposed by the mod if things are slowing down. What happens at deadline will be specified, if and when a deadline is set.
[10] You've made a commitment to the game, so please follow it through, and post.
[11] If you want a player prodded, please request so in thread. I will also prod any players if and when I feel it is appropriate.
[12] Failure to pick up your prod in a certain amount of time (48 hours on average, longer at weekends), will result in replacement.

Behavior

[13] Leave any grudges at the door. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
[14] I have no problem with codes, but invisible type or small letters are not allowed. Period.

Nights

[15] Once all night choices are in, the next day will dawn. So do not send in your nightchoice, until you're happy for the next day to begin.

Miscellaneous

[16] When addressing the mod, try bolding your comment, so it will definitely be noticed.

After what seemed to be a quiet night, the inhabitants of a small town surrounded by forests and mountains met as a group in the Town Square. A horrible sight lay in front of them - the body of FeRnAnDo. A quick search of his body revealed medicines and drugs, as well as his qualifications that allowed him to be a doctor in the village. The villagers looked at each other - there were still three members of the Mafia within their group.


FeRnAnDo (Doctor) - Nightkilled Night 0.


The villagers had a chance to lynch one of their number.


It is now Day One. With 11 alive, it takes 6 to lynch.

After discussing for hours on end, the villagers finally decided to string up d3sisted. As he was dragged to the gallows, he continually protested his innocence. But you all kept going, somestrangeflea pushing him the final step towards the gallows.

After a slow and quiet few minutes, you realise he is dead, and inspect his body. You find medical supplies and his doctor qualification, and looking into the faces of the others, you realised that d3sisted was either a doctor or a quack, but more importantly an innocent.

The wind and rain of the morning symbolised what the villagers knew had been a horrible night. Struggling into the Town Hall, they found the body of Vel-Rahn Koon lying motionless ahead of them. Searching his body reveals his certificate of medical practice - he was a certified doctor.

Glancing out the window, you see another body in the Public Gardens - the body of Hjallti lying next to some rather battered bigonias. On closer inspection, you find that he too was a certified doctor.

The villagers knew it would be a difficult day ahead - they wanted to get the mafia out of their town.

You wake up solemnly - everyone knows things are getting bad.

Sure enough, viciously killed next to the grocery store was somestrangeflea. His attackers had obviously been merciless.

A quick inspection reveals that he had his medical practioner certificate and his needles. He was a doctor.

There was an awkward silence.

"Actually," Stewie said, with a hint of malice, "we had something different in mind."

"Yeah," agreed mneme, "we're fed up of trying to lynch mafia. Let's keep getting townies instead."

Tarhalindur, JordanA24 and curiouskarmadog looked at each other nervously. It seemed now that the Mafia really had overtaken the town.

The game was balanced, definitely. The only thing I would probably change is I would start with a Day Start.

Town lost out most due to inactivity, since basically everyone had to be replaced. That said, the Mafia lost out too - all the Mafia were replaced several times. Further, on Night 1 if they had targetted Hjallti, the town would have been in lylo. This was quite a costly scum mistake.
