In my opinion, town start with the information of just themselves. Where scum start with information on themselves and the town.

A D1 that can end with just a swift hammer can only help the town close the information gap that gives the scum the advantage to start every game.

If it's someone I town read with good reason I wouldn't hammer, but like he said someone with scum vibes who has already played well enough to be at L1 should just be offed.

Too often I see town's run people to L1, get a claim, back off, run the next person up to L1, get a claim, back off... All that does is help scum fill in their gaps. They don't have that many to fill in. While town can only take people's word for everything. They won't be able to confirm those answers until a flip.

The game starts on D2, the quicker you get there and begin working the better for town.

Kaboose's reaction to the claim is absolutely terrible though. A large normal is not a game you are going to solve. There is no town motivation to wanting to decide of the claim is real. If the claim is real they don't need protection or support of any kind.

Like you went out of your way to clear her when she was under no threat. you softed specific range of roles to do so, and I dont know why town would make themselves the target of night actions when there was no reason to.

We start with no information, we win when we get enough information to make informed decisions. If I can confirm someone, then I would like to think this is a positive to be shared with the group. It's not like me doing this has put their life in danger any more than it already was. Given the fact scum already know WW is town, they didn't need to be told. However town do need to be told. WW could make every post in the game "I'm town." to us, but how are we to believe them? I have decided to endorse WW as town to let the rest of you know it from someone other than their own mouth.

What motivation would I have, as scum, to announce someone else as town? Especially this early in the game? Where does that help in a D1 that scum use to create the most doubt? I'm trying to create confidence, the exact opposite.

I have stated MY ROLE coupled with WW/Sals CLAIM causes me to have great confidence they are town. I don't know if they're lying so I can't be exactly 100% sure, but if it's a true claim then put me down for a 99% that Sal is town.

Also what motivation would I have, as scum, to announce an ascetic claim as town? A role that does nothing but raise doubt in a player given that no one can know anything for sure about them until their flip? What motivation do I have to be a scum, say they're town? If anything if I was scum and lynched today, it would probably lead to a Sal lynch tomorrow? Maybe? If it did what does that gain scum? A dead player capable of causing doubt? It makes no sense.

My idea here is that by me being able to push the doubt out of the way for Sal's role I've done the town a favour because of the nature of an ascetic.

Like if someone claimed miller D1, and someone else could confirm it 100% to you, wouldn't that be something town would want?

I Am Inno - I don't know if MOD will confirm it or not but they did forget to send me my role pm to start the game. So there was a bit of time while the game was going on that I had no idea which faction I was in.

Innocent, if I had kept that info to myself, I don't think anyone would have looked back at the claim WW/Sal made and put it together. One, because who knows if anyone would have even thought to look back at it?

I'm just of the opinion that town's biggest weapon is knowledge gathering. So when I see an opportunity to give the town knowledge I don't want to pass it up. That said I also come from a website where people will DayVig on D1 for giggles, and we get a little more anxious with information when we know it. Either way, I can't really even fathom how I would be scum read for my approach. Why wouldn't town want to know this? Why would people be scum reading me for giving information?

Also I really hate when people get after someone for not scum hunting on D1... D1 is such a cluster of fucks usually. Not only that but if any of you have played games for any amount of time you know that there's usually a good chance your D1 reads and D2 and beyond reads could be totally different! I mean I'm not saying everyone should get a free pass or anything, but calling out my first 20 posts for not scumhunting? That's a bit unfair considering some people in this game don't even have 20 posts, and I'm sitting in the 40s already. So if the first 20 have no scum hunting, does that mean the second 20 does?

I read this and instantly wondered why he was assuming there was only one other mason because his wording insinuated such. To me that just shows too much confidence in what you're typing and I translate confidence to scum. Especially when it comes to the numbers in a set up.

Well I went back to the cop claim and I think it's kind of weak. Even if she'd said she'd investigated someone who's now dead it'd have slightly more weight. I'm gonna read back to see what the basis of the claim was, and what her motivation would be to drop you in the proverbial shit.
If she's lynched and does flip cop, it goes without saying that you eat rope.

I was hoping to have some super juicy stuff for you all by D4 as I my plan is either to come out with the first scum investigation(although I didn't necessarily not get a scum result) I get or post them on D4 if I can make it.

Anyways:

N3 - DrippingGoofball - I didn't get a result, I assume because they died.

First off, the reason I was able to figure Sala's slot was town was based on the Ascetic claim would be a good balance to my role. Then I figured Tere was scum based on them knowing I was a role cop which I feel they knew based on their role. So there was a town and a scum to counter my role.

Second, I feel bad for not checking on the mason claims sooner.

Third, Ika and Nero aren't town cleared. They're either Vanilla Townie or Mafia Goon, of course.

Xtoxm is confirmed town with DrippingGoofball flipping Mason, yes?
