Guild Wars II GAME RELEASE happened a while ago

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

The world's cheeriest necromancer.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

So, Sudo gave in and preordered the game.

No, Sudo got two copies (one as a birthday gift for his sister) and couldn't afford to prepurchase both. So I've only got the preorder with the 1 day headstart.

However, Brandi will note that she should be happy about the gift part, since she's apparantly got a girl-crush on my sister.

I understand the problem. I humble accept the nomination for Guild Leader, and will lead us to great success and/or pie.

I had the same reaction, basically. I wanted to like engie going in, since it's my favorite class in TF2, and turrets and what not, but things like Warrior, Thief, and Elementalist just look to be a lot more fun.

What about raids and junk? Or is endgame all PvP, all the time?

Hey, SWTOR was good. It didn't have much endgame content and the PvP sucked, but other than that, I really enjoyed it.

If Fate is going to stomp away if he doesn't get to be guild leader, then he obviously is not the sort of person we wants as guild leader anyway.

From what I can tell, there is no real difference besides loot and skill. Apparantly, everyone who PvPs gets temp boosted to max level, and the "special" loot does nothing in warzones. That, at least, is my understanding.

So how does one gain levels? I'm level 17, and I've already done all the areas and quests up to that point, and the next area is level 20, and the mobs there wreck me. So either I'm missing some aspect of leveling up, or I need help, or something.

Already map completed Divinity's Reach and Queensdale; working on Kessix Hills, but some of the heart quests require killing mobs that are 3-4 levels above me.

So, now I'm stuck, because it turns out the Order of Whispers questline is bugged, so I literally cannot advance.

Also, yay, Tans! We should get the gang back together!

Also, Socio needs to get his shit together as a guild leader. We've got multiple 30s, and no dungeon runs? Tsk, tsk.

Maybe it's a Human thing, and it works because you're Norn? I get "go to Lion's Arch", and the instant pops up, but it never updates. So I never get the next objective, and while I can enter the instance, I can't talk to the NPC that's supposed to continue the quest.

Stealing Secrets. Based on the previous storyline mission for me, I'm supposed to talk to an Agent disguised as an Apple Seller to give me the details, and Logan Thackery. There's no apple seller in the instance; Logan is there, but I cannot initiate dialog- pressing F does nothing.

I haven't played a mesmer, but Sword/Pistol and Sword/Torch both look like they bring the pain, and staff looks good for range. And the Domination skill tree looks amazing if you've got the interrupts and the timing.

Except it appears that a Mesmer's still got plenty of range options, even with a sword.

I've found Scepter/Dagger is far and away the most fun on my Elementalist toon. Just started an Engineer; it seems alright so far, but I haven't gotten all of the abilities unlocked for it yet, so I have no turrets to mess around with.

So, I'm trying to log onto the Support Site, and apparantly, my Support password is different from my game password for some reason? Also, I don't know what my support password is, and you aren't allowed to recover it until after you've entered it, so am I just fucked?
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

So:
A) I'm having trouble getting motivated to play my Thief, Engineer, or Elementalist. What I really want, is a class that has really good staying power, mobility, and high single-target DPS. Maybe Warrior?

B) I'd enjoy being part of a guild that actually did things while I was around.

Mobility powers. Like some classes have abilities that let them long jump. Super useful for jump-puzzles.

Sudo went Dual Pistols instead. Unload is delicious damage.

Elementalist daggers does have a long jump, but having to switch between four elements is a really annoying mechanic.

I'm thinking about getting back into this. Is there still an active guild and/or a best class yet?

So, I'm getting updated. It's been a while since I've played, but I've got some free time and the hankerin'.
