so I've already played through the intros of every race (I like making characters, okay?). I think the best ones are the Charr and the Sylvari. The Charr battle just feels massive and makes you feel like a soldier. The Sylvari are just awesome.
A little let down by the Norn beginning, although the giant frostworm is pretty cool. Main issues with norn and asura endings are that it forces you to be a hunter/engineer to some extent. Like, even if you are a necromancer you still have to hunt wild beasts and invent shit.

That's because it's their culture. It's their racial kind of thing. Yes, a necromancer wouldn't normally hunt wild beasts - but a norn necromancer would.

It's the same thing with Charr necros and mesmers being so out of place it isn't funny.

I'm in now! I'm chilling at the Henge of Denrabi or whatever because it's where my real life friends ended up.

I'm the one on the right, my rl bro is on the left.

I'm playing an Engineer for now but my friend was saving a name for me and only deleted the character when I officially got GW2, so 4:17 PM tomorrow I make my Warrior

So I finally managed to immerse myself in the world through reading literally every single article in the Lore section ever. The most important things that I managed to find are:
The Elder Dragons are not a unified force or team - they fight eachother just as much as us mortals. This is probably why we are still alive.
The Order of Whispers is a bunch of cheeky scumfucks and share less than 1% of what they know with the rest of mankind and a kinda civil war-ish thing is probably coming from the Order (one of the sides wants to protect mankind, the other wants to go fuckit and either join the dragons or use information to block themselves off the rest of the world or somesuch).
Not all undead things are Risen, so not all undead are evil.
There are probably eggs or even hatchlings of Glint, a champion of the Elder Dragons that turned good due to reading the minds of hundreds of mortals, hidden somewhere (probably the Crystal Desert). Not sure if said hatchlings will retain their mother's mindset (but even if they don't, they might eventually come around to it, like their mother).

Okay, so I decided to try some more WvW action on my thief (the premise was that thieves are better than warriors doing hit-and-run solo missions than warriors, and solo missions are all that my computer is good for).

I started on the Crystal Desert borderlands - we had a fairly good standing, but we were being sieged at some northern keep. They had superior numbers, but very few of them had supplies with them (or were incapable of using them) - they could never get siege engines up and some of them kept running back (presumably for more supplies). So, I decided to go and ambush the enemy supply caravans inbound for the closest keep. Sadly, they had about 30 people escorting the caravan, so I didn't have any hopes of picking it off. I later chased an engineer into a fairly big battle, but we eventually won due to us having greater numbers (about 30 to 20); we later split up and chased the stragglers. Our group of 6 people chased 3 of them across the lake; the last one of them died pretty much on the stairs to their keep. Upon aggroing some more npcs and stopping to kill them, we got ambushed by ~10 people of the same guild and died.

It was fun.

This game keeps coming with surprises. I'm with the Vigil atm and just finished a quest where I wanted to cry. Warmaster Forgal is a guy I would love to shake hands with if he was real.

Are you serious reck?

Must be your class, I faceroll the story quests as my norn. Usually I am three to four levels under the recommended level. I'm a ranger, and use longbow or short bow. Stacking power like it owes me money.

So, now I'm stuck, because it turns out the Order of Whispers questline is bugged, so I literally cannot advance.

Also, yay, Tans! We should get the gang back together!

Also, Socio needs to get his shit together as a guild leader. We've got multiple 30s, and no dungeon runs? Tsk, tsk.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Yea, probably because I have my tanking pets. If shit gets to me, I die. Thankfully I have my pet and knock backs if something tries to get all up in my grill.

Yeah Nym sounds good, I'll be back on Wednesday, we can run some dungeons

Maybe it's a Human thing, and it works because you're Norn? I get "go to Lion's Arch", and the instant pops up, but it never updates. So I never get the next objective, and while I can enter the instance, I can't talk to the NPC that's supposed to continue the quest.

Stealing Secrets. Based on the previous storyline mission for me, I'm supposed to talk to an Agent disguised as an Apple Seller to give me the details, and Logan Thackery. There's no apple seller in the instance; Logan is there, but I cannot initiate dialog- pressing F does nothing.
