I wish I had gotten that mafia award for my black Fang performance were I managed to guess everyone's role and help lynch all those in the other scum group but oh well. Congrats Adel. Though I do remember you trying to solicit that others to get that nom.. nah I'm just kidding. You seriously totally deserve the award for your efforts. Congrats to you.

And let me just say that you guys should be glad the camera's in the room where tajo and elvis weren't always functioning. The things I saw. And I though shaft.ed and his phrase book were perverted. You truly deserved that fun large award.

Meh, you are a good player, glork, but its not like you are the best thing since sliced bread. Everybody has bad and good days. In my experience with you and the games of yours I've read I don't think you deserve all the hype and thanks and talk people give you. Nobody even myself, I think deserves that kind of praise. People are going over board with it or they just don't think highly enough of themselves that they can do just as well in the right situations.

Everybody has their strengths and weeknesses. Perhaps trying hard without thought of reward or victory but satisfaction of your own play is what we should all be really striving for. MS is suppose to be the premeare (sp?) or top mafia site on the net, or at least that's what I have read wikipedia call it. I feel a little like Adel saying this because of her personality, but I'm begining to wonder if trying to hold ourselves to high standards of improving our games is truly the best way to improve all play. So many people replace in and out of games they can't handle vs their real life time or own expectations when they want to avoid effort more than not be able to supply effort they thought they had. Speed up your efforts and the games to get them done and over with then sign up for new ones with same effort.

People can lurk all the way to victory again and again because they can hide with all those that don't give effort. And how is that fun? Only time I see lurkers in trouble is when everyone else is giving enough effort to show they are town so process of elimination leads us to those that never look town or can't be read, leads us too the lurkers. And if everyone gives effort and there is no lurk you get fun and generally good games. Maybe its just me, but its like there is a general decline of skils vs expectations of others. And that can sometimes be frustrating. You can't have someone always do the work for you. Go out there and strive to do well yourself. If you want it done right you should truly do it yourself the best you can. And if someone gives you an award or praises you that means you should keep doing things that well, it means you are doing things right now. It doesn't mean you can just sit back and live with what you got. That's right I'm telling you to always try more. Try to surpass yourself in everything you do!

If I ever get one of these things I think the only speech I'd give would be:

Huh not sure how I mentioned pooky. Glork is good and that wasn't about the actions of one individual. I went from Glork to the point that we should all be striving for our own improvement and not for praise and awards. Where's the satisfaction of a job well done? You get that from yourself not others. I just think effort is lacking in some directions in general with alot of people even me. Guess I'm just underwhelmed or not feeling challenged since I ain't played in games in awhile and it feels like others aren't even trying to play when I'm reading games while bored.

The best way to improve yourself, make better and fun games, lower replacements, stop lurking, or do whatever it is you want, would be if everyone strived harder themselves and that effort is lacking in alot of places.

I never said they don't serve a purpose. We are suppose to be players at a really good mafia site and its like... wait we are a really good mafia site? I'm just recently noticing or getting a feeling of things not meeting their own expectations or not showing general expected effort in some scenario's. Hell we are having alot of talk and site ideas threads about replacement problems and recently queue issues. It feels like we are moving down stressing the problems and not moving with effort to fix ourselves and other things. Guess I'm bored and not challenged as I'm busy with a bunch of things and not in any games able to improve things.

I realize what I said originally was a little confusing but I think what I said there was best and most honest first impulse of this underwhelmed experience I'm getting from some things. Players, games, queue, sideline aspects, myself included. I feeling like some things are getting a free pass with less effort for bad reasons. In general the end message I want to give is everybody should just keep playing and play better. It is the players that make this site. The award doesn't matter. So what if you win or loose or are not getting payed enough. Play more and strive more here or elsewhere. Challenge yourselves. Surpass satisfactions and expectations

ironically I actually kind like the simplicity of empking or killa seven's play as of late. I have actually developed good ways of reading them when looking at some of their games. Ain't really got a good enough opinion of SSK's play though I have heard he's getting better.

What I said started out with direction towards certain people or classes but i want the message to reach and touch all since it can apply to everyone in some ways. We just need to recognize our own faults and strive to surpass adversity.

And if you think enough said here can be made into its own thread without effecting comments caught with the scummy and that it should be in its own thread then knock yourselves out I guess.

If Baby Jesus still played, sure. I need to play with glork, fritz, ssk, and probably a dozen others more and see things generally reach potentials. Wish I wasn't busy and confined to certain times I could do certain things with this real life junk so I could help and not recognize an issue from the sidelines. Even joining certain games happens for only certain times. Guess I'll just have to do it after april if there is still a need then and I still want to vs what's going on in real life then.

Where did I even mention Kinetic? Heck I helped nominate Kinetic for that. All I said towards him was that I didn't just mean empking and SSK. Hell I actually feel glad I didn't win right now because I think I lurked too much at times. I'm always too busy in real life.

I guess I'm just underwhelmed with the state of play and things I precieve mafiascum to be in. In various games alot of people look to one player for and most of the time they don't have it or they are scum. Why are you trusting them? What happened to looking at your self to do the work? Where is the trusting yourself and perservering? If that one guy gets killed, what you gonna do? It feels like people are slacking in general as I read games. I suppose you can't be at your best in every game, but that doesn't mean you can't try to be. Don't even spend time enjoying where you are because you should be trying to take it further.

Maybe I'm not even sure what I'm saying but I guess what I'm saying is you shouldn't be satisifed with just stopping so far. I'll try to explain what I'm saying further when I get off work if you guys thinks its necessary. If someone wants to throw this in another thread or try to decipher what I've got so far, they can go right ahead.

Well I think the state of play is great and there are a lot of good players out there. I think the site has steadily improved as time has gone on. When I went away and came back again I felt very stupid... like the play level had increased a lot.

And I guess this is true and good. But that doesn't mean it can't be greater. It doesn't mean you can't be greater.

I guess I just have and percieve high expectations for things that I don't think are being met. I think we can all do better than just this. And I'm not really able to fix or feel or be challenged by them right now. I've gotten really bored going through all this stuff in real life I have to to do and am doing it but I wish I had time to have fun and I expect others to well manage there time and skills so that we can move forward to something really cool

Let's fix some of the problems and not just dance around them. Its like we're trying to get enough votes on an obv scum and everybody is just pissing around. can I get a hammer here? Can't you post and pull the weight you expect yourself to give. The weight generally expected you to give. I guess I'm just not impressed. You can win by lurking and getting everyone else to lurk. Wow that sounds like awesome fun. Let's all slack off and do nothing. That guy will self hammer. Or you can win by getting off your ass and being somebody. And even if you loose, would you rather win lurking or loose playing? I think I rather loose playing then win by lurking or taking the easy way out. Quit taking the easy way out riding off of any success or opinions everyone else has gained of you. Take it further. "Hey everyone thinks X is town again. They always think X is town as any alignment." X shouldn't be able to get away with that same tactic everytime. I'm looking for some evolution. Wow a survivor win condition kept me alive. it keeps alot of people alive. Why can't it be more easily always seen through. It feels all the same and simple. Where is challenge? I want to see someone get away with a nk immune miller vig claim. Hell I want to see a setup where there actually is an nk imune miller vig. Let's destroy any meta we have and make this an ever changing challenging game. I want a crazy scenario where there is nothing and no one you can trust. Eveybody is a fucking Jester but no one knows it. I want the next game i read or play to actually be worth it, not I giant snorefest. I want to see a wagon with 7 guys on it with a cop investigation and i want to see them all unvote because the mafioso convinced them the cop was random or insane. Let's all kick some ass!

I think I may have gotten off course a little. Somebody send this stuff to another thread till i feel like actually sorting this. Call the thread Great Future Expectations or PF Ranting or And tell me if you at least got something out of what I was saying

gorckat, you are more likely to get that from your players; the judges do an excellent job given the time constraints and number of nominated games, but I don't think anyone expects they will be as familiar with an individual game as those who played it.

so I guess that gets it accross.

So what started the alpacca meme was the following factors

1. Shaft.ed running this game
2. Me and elvis signing up for this game
3. Shaft.ed ranomly gives me the hungarian tourist role
4. Me choose elvis as my night 1 target
-I said some stuff in thread
-Elvis figuring out some stuff I said in thread making me think she had cigarettes.
-Cause of that I send my action at elvis
5. Shaft.ed wierdly translates my phrase/action
6. Nobody blocks or stops action
7. Elvis gets action and thinks it is suggestive and replys back to it suggestivly
8. Me and her discuss the night action in thread the next day as an act of beatially/hand job

Then choas and imitaters ensue

Me and shaft.ed were more involved in the process but it was Elvis's interpretation that started the phenominum

Is there more to his side of the story then just that? I am not sure how/when ogml got involved in this. I've only been in one ogml modded game and one game with Tajo and niether one involved alpaccas or the other person so I am ignorant to some details here I believe.

Its funny how the lumberjack in monty python had the urge to cut things up / kill people and yet he failed or chickened out of it kinda while barbering. Since lg failed to kill 4 times I have began refering to that issue as an albatross. 4 strikes in bowling is an albatross and 4 failed kills in mafia is an albatross in my mind. (Gurgi faked a post restriction with the Albatross Seller Role)
