Fundamental

1. Enjoy yourself.
2. No one can talk to any other player about the game, unless your role allows it, and then only when you role allows it. If I find out you break this rule, modkill.
3. No quoting mod PMs, not even faking it. Doing so results in a modkill.
4. If I make a mistake, please let me know and I will fix it.
5. Please don't be jackass. If you have to ask yourself if something counts as jackassery or not, the answer is probably "Yes".
6.
Indigo
is my pretty color, and mine only, please don't use it.

Voting and lynching

7. For your vote to be counted, it must be bold, and in the form
vote: playername
. The colon is optional.
8. You MUST unvote before changing your vote. Again, unvotes must be bold to count.
9. A lynch will occur at n/2 + 1 votes, rounded down to the nearest integer, where n is the number of players currently alive. Day will end with the lynch.
10. You may vote for a ‘no lynch’ if desired. If a majority of the players in the game vote for to no lynch, the game will progress to night without a lynch. No lynching cannot be done on consecutive nights.
11. If a majority of votes hasn't been reached at deadline, the person with the highest votecount is lynched. In case of draw the person having reached the highest number of votes first is lynched.

12. If a lynch occurs, then the game enters ‘twighlight’, where all alive players apart from the player who has been lynched are allowed to freely converse (but not allowed to cast any votes) until I lock the thread and post a death scene.
13. Once you are dead, you are free to make one “bah” like post, but nothing more.

Activity and Deadline

14. This game enforce a strict deadline of 2 weeks per day phase - 3 weeks maximum if extension, and 72 hours per night phase. You have been warned.
15.Treat this game as a commitment. You are requested to post at least once every 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in a prod. 2 prods will result in your replacement.

16. If you are unable to participate for a period longer than 45 hours, please PM me or post in thread.

Everybody was here. The here being the provincial but dignified town-square of the quiet town of Quietown. But today Quietown wasn't quiet, murmurs of horror and cries of outrage made them heard before the gruesome sight that met the assembled crowd's eyes: the beloved mayor's body lay lifeless and bloody on the pavement of this once idyllic place. "Murderers are in our midst!" "We must root out the evil before it kills us all!" "We will avenge our mayor and hang them high!"

Today the town square was witness to a steady crescendo of suspicion and paranoia. Veiled insinuations had morphed into hostile bicker, which had degenerated into full-blown slander, and soon the good people of Quietown were flying unrestrained into each others faces.

After a vaguely unsettling night, Quietown gathers again hoping for justice, this time. It is therefore with quiet furor, and maybe dread, but markedly little surprise that the crowd surveys the sight greeting them: the pavement is today crimson anew, a stark contrast to the paleness of the corpse laying there with to bullets in its head.

Three day after the Mayor's murder, Quietown was in a difficult situation.

"Four cops?! No wonder my taxes are so high!"
"Guys I think we need to slow down, we don't want to misl - "

"Heh, how come this guy isn't angry like the rest of us? Do you enjoy it when my tax money go to waste?"

The town was quite embarrassed.

"So, why did we lynch him again?"
"Dunno, lol."
"Oh well, never liked him much anyway."

And with that, the few people left were ready to head home, when...

"Not so fast."

The lugubrious tone of familiar voice put shrills into the remaining townies' hearts, but, hypnotized by its command, they obeyed; only to face the incoming trajectories of three deadly bullets. One for each of them.


Artem, a quack, was killed by a shot in the head.

Azhrei, a vanilla townie, was killed by a shot in the heart.

Zer0ph34r, a sane cop was shot in the gonads (and quickly bleed to death).



The silence which followed the three deafening detonations was resounding. The two remaining men stood there, enjoying it.


Green_Crayons, mafia roleblocker, wins!
Charrat, mafia goon, wins!


And unseasonal snow started to fall on the once idyllic Town Square of the quiet town of Quietown, framing in a dramatic fashion the dark ruby of the spilt blood with their crystalline flakes, and providing this game with a perfect, cinematographic ending.

Notes


This is where I own up to one big mistake I made. You may have noticed that Zero's investigation on N1 is marked as hohum, but that Zero actually claimed guilty on Charrat in game. That's because I screwed up, Zero asked to investigate hohum, but I made a slip and sent him 'Guilty on Charrat' for result. When I realized it, I couldn't go back as Zero had already claimed, and there was no way of correcting the result without confirming him in thread.

So of course I asked him to cover it up and he did. (Thanks :p )

I feared this would disadvantage scum, but turns out it didn't.


Now, GG all, and congrats to scum. It was an agreeable game to mod. And I think we broke some kind of record with one and only replacement for the entire game.

I'm curious what you think of the setup, so please comment.

I have more notes on the game and everyone play, I'll post them later.

Well, the reasoning behind the setup was that it is actually hard for scum to find the right cop to block/kill; as flipping a sane cop may be detrimental to their game.

Also, the miller was designed to act as a trap in case of scum fakeclaiming cop because it was specified in the miller PM that everyone cop in town would be suspicious of him.

On individual plays

I think on town side
alexhans
and
Zeenon
did a really good job as far as scumhunting go and were nightkilled as reward.

Artem
made judicious choices both night in his protection, and correctly avoided mis-kill due to his sanity.

The real turning point was the
hohum
lynch. I think maybe hohum didn't see the potentiality of his role.

Zerophear, Azhrei and Shinnen
suffered a bit from inexperience imo, as no-kill was the right decision the last day as it allowed for more investigation as well as improving the correct chance.

sebzig
is a bad boy who didn't fight enough his own lynch :P



On the scumside,
Charrat and Green Crayons
had solid game. Green Crayons, despite being a bit of a lurkerscum earlier in the game, had seemingly infinite bullshit power day 3. They made good decisions overall.

Two flagrant scumslips I picked up though:

This is Charrat's reaction to Zero's claim. His saying 'I know that there are 3 cops at this point' is him slipping because 1) it implies he trusts Zero's claim 2) it implies that he is the third cop, which contradict his doc claim later on.

This one is a huge slip in my book. In lylo, no town would ever suggest their own lynch, unless there are really bad at this game.
