4. do not harass other players in this game. while a certain level of confrontation and argumentation is typical in Mafia games, do not bring personal vendettas or outside influences into the game. additionally, do not harm or threaten to harm any person.

5. play to win the game. there is a chance that you will lose the game, but do your best to avoid that, and do not deliberately throw the game.

my ipod mini battery finally arrived today! i bought an ipod mini at goodwill a couple months ago. the battery was dead, and the first one i bought off of ebay didn't work. it took me ages to get around to buying a second one because it's basically impossible to tell who's a reputable seller of ipod mini batteries and i never got around to actually getting a return on the first one, so i didn't want to waste any more money. the first one came with a couple very tiny screwdrivers (the sizes you'd need to pry open an ipod mini and unscrew the two screws inside) that are reasonably good as very small screwdrivers, and it was only $10, so i don't feel too bad about not getting a refund, because i will undeniably get value out of the screwdrivers. i already have, in fact! the flat head one is actually really good for shaving off tiny imperfections in 3d printed objects.

i watched the entire tv show jury duty today. if you're looking for a show to watch that you can view in its entirety in just a day, this one is pretty solid. that's my official tv recommendation of the votecount. i've been trying to make sure i include at least one tv recommendation in every votecount. haven't really been keeping track of whether i've successfully done that so far this game, but i'm guessing i have a success rate somewhere around 90-95%. my proficiency is presumably off the charts.

something that came up back when I ran Non-Reviewed Game was a designer asking me to not reveal the roles that they'd designed that didn't end up in the game (because they might want to use those designs again, and some of them involved non-public information). I started the design process for this with that in mind as the way I'd do things, so I'm not gonna release the whole thing, but that being said, I think there's a very compelling argument to be made for giving the mafia access to some number of unused town roles as fake claims in future. so I might do that for those! that being said, if anyone who designed a role for this one wants to publish their list of designs, they are certainly welcome to do so.

also, I'm gonna run a veiled committee mini theme next! no ETA on that -- I want to figure out a better system for how role PMs are formatted that gives designers as much freedom as possible and allows speculation about who designed what to be feasible, but I also want to make sure everything is above board and in line with site rules. so. gotta figure out what the best solution there is! btw this is a first draft for a possible role template. the image and flavor text would be optional elements. designers would need to specify whether the role is multitasking, and they'd need to write a name and description for each ability (which could be as simple as copying and pasting something directly from the wiki, or as complicated as writing paragraphs and paragraphs). the line tag would delineate each ability, and other than "each ability has a name in bold" and "each ability has other stuff," I wouldn't place limits on the formatting for those if someone wants to do something really audacious.

my thinking here is that it should be totally fine for players to say, for example, "the flavor text in my role has a bunch of typos in it and there's a picture of the anime character who my role is named after. both of my abilities have long-ish names that don't tell you anything about the ability itself, and one of my abilities has some blue text in it." I'll need to think about whether there's anything that should be in this template but isn't, and I'll need to run that criteria by the list mods (hello to any list mods reading this right now). basically, I want to ensure that if a designer wants to intentionally do a theme that players could notice that the rules don't forbid players from engaging with that theme, and hopefully having this sort of framework makes that easier.
