Your main point, as much as I can tell from simply skimming the thread, is that Simpor asked Wolf to clarify her point that she thought you had a power role. Did I miss anything else?

While scummish, I don't find it worthy of a vote compared to Mizzy, corp or - if I was to just look at people who were throwing out guesses as to who has power roles - wolf herself.

It could also be argued that the sig is talking about ongoing games outside the thread, unless this is the only thread you've ever posted in (unlikely).

I don't know if I like your vote on Simpor, Ether. Truthfully, I think Ether's acting very scummy, not power-role-y.

It was Simpor's response that led me to vote him.
Post 162, Simpor wrote:I could ask you, why the hell do you care what I like about Ped?
I believe that it is a responsibility as a townie to ask questions, if we didn't do that, the scum would win every time.
First off, I dislike the juxtaposition between "How dare you ask me about Ped?" and "I like questions." Second, that's a strawman fallacy, combined with false warnings of doom to push his point home. Yes, asking certain types of questions is necessary, but
his
question was extremely unnecessary.

I don't think Crywolf has ever fished for my role. The "power roles deserve more authority during the day" sentiment is idiotic, but I think I've seen it before. Don't remember specific examples to cite, but it rings a bell.

Canary/Crywolf, what do you think about my efforts to learn what the deal with Corporate is? Crywolf actually criticized his efforts to hide his identity.

I'd still like Crywolf to cite an example of me commanding the town in a negative way. Really don't think she's trying here.

I don't want him to just 'hide.' I wish I could quote the other games he's in, but sadly they are all new games.

Example coming in a moment.

There. Yeah, you're trying to understand where the town feels for them, but to me it just seemed demanding, despite the 'please'.

I think it's just your way of speaking. It always seems to me pushing to mold the town into your ways of thinking.

Ether wrote:Canary/Crywolf, what do you think about my efforts to learn what the deal with Corporate is? Crywolf actually criticized his efforts to hide his identity.
I don't really care what his real identity is. He's trumping up minor bad points brought against him while dismissing/ignoring other points he doesn't want to talk about, claiming that he's already discussed them when all he has done is said a line or two without explaining further criticism. That's all within the scope of the game before me. I don't think knowing if he generally plays this way or if this is his escape handle so he can get away with playing this way helps us in the least.

This is scummy play. I'm not going to reward scummy play with a "pass" just because he might always plays this way. Scummy play is scummy play. And if he
isn't
scum, he's being purposefully unhelpful by simply not doing anything to change anyone's mind. I mean, seriously. I said that I would put my vote on him only if he didn't address the issues being put to him - not that he had to convince me of anything, just that he had to show me he wanted to participate when some pressure was on him. What did he do? Inflate minor claims while dismissing and ignoring everything else. Even after being criticized
again
for that, he continues with the same attitude and performance.

While there's the possibility that he might not be scum, at least it wouldn't be a lynch for a townie who is at least attempting to contribute in a positive fashion.

And I think wolf's claim of Ether's stranglehold over the town is paper thin.[/s]

Ugh, mulling over my own post I think I have convinced myself that corporate is just a bad player and not scum.
Unvote: corporate
. I need to reread the thread in full to verify my thoughts. That'll be later tonight/tomorrow.

i dont think that just because you dont like how i choose to play that makes it scummy. im participating and trying to be helpful. in the way thats fun for me. over analyzing and putting together a wall of text for everything might seem more helpful. and i do agree very much that it can be convincing. but from previous experience it can take some of the fun out of even playing.

im trying not to turn the game into a chore. its better to lose a game you had fun playing, then to win a game that felt like homework.

And by bad player, I don't mean inherently. Just in this game, making some bad performance choices.

Nothing personal. My criticism still stands.

So what you are saying is that, despite the very word that makes her entire sentence a request and not an order, you feel that she demanded it? You completely disregarded the exact word that was pivotal to the voice of the sentence.

You also have to remember that what Ether asked is extremely common practice in MS games to ask of other players. It's not like she pulled it out of her ass.

I call backpedalling.

Also, I gotta say that I disagree with crywolf on that. First of all, even if Ether sounded demanding when asking for our ratings, why would it matter? Town forcing others to give thoughts is good, if you ask me. Secondly, if you disagree, then at least have some backbone. Recognize that even if Ether is trying to play commander with the town, the town has no good reason to obey her, if it doesn't want to.
