Strictly speaking, off policy, lynching klingon has some positives:

A, it's only a townie. We don't risk losing a power role on day 1.
B, if we move on to someone else, we risk outing more powerful roles (I do NOT want to out any protective roles or other town PRs at this point)
C, we probably have something like a third of the game being scum so obviously not every claim is going to be true. Strictly mathematically then, we have a 1/3 chance of hitting scum and that's going purely randomly. Add in comments like lynching 3 slots and it is definitely not a random lynch, ergo, the chances of hitting scum go up.

What am I missing here?

I think this is scum. Still working on VCA but we should never lynch someone we believea ret own ever. Only a townie means not a scum.

Saying you don''t want to out more powers at this point is craziness. Yous hould never want to out powers. this implies a mindset of wanting to expose things to scum.

Uhm lots. Titus and I are different people.

Titus is a dominator of the thread and is almost a champion right or wrong she tunnels almost every game.

Me on the surface I am a tunneler and look like I play on emotion but I generally play more strategic like chess moves. For example if I think player X has good reads but a lot of heat I may try to look scummy or if I know I can't explain something I do something crazy so people will look back after I die.

A cop claim on day one is unlikely to be CC for precisely those reasons - the fake cop can be caught without reveling the real cop at a later time. The fake claiming scum WANTS a counter claim (at least this early in the game) - then they can take out the cop before there are any confirmed townies/scum.

I think I'm overthinking it now . . .
. If its possible or likely the town can find out in other ways whether or not its a fake claim, and the cop themself knows it, then they could simply reveal when they felt comfortable. They could essentially use the fakeclaim as a free scumclaim, and start investigating suspects around the fakeclaimer.

I think one of Albert/vikingfan is scum.

Albert is too good to talk about another game. This situation almost looks engineered in a sense for me to vote vikingfan. It feels too easy. Plus ABR faked claimed so I am not surprised he wasn't targetted as his claims should not be trusted as I said. His vote on vikingfan looks like aiming for low hanging fruit he could have set up with pisskop.
On the other hand, vikingfan saying he knew he was protected while roleblocked is sketchy as fuck. ABR's point makes sense but we don't know all of their role. It seems like there may be modifiers to every role. Furthermore, pisskop defending vikingfan lends towards his claim being fake. Combining this with my d1 vibe, it is hard to not have a large FoS on pisskop.

I think either of these two should be lynched but am voting ABR for discussion. Both of these two deserve intense pressure.

This is where I disagree with you. If VF hadnt' have claimed cop they'd be lynched. Even if it fails it gains VF an additional day of life with no risk. So what if he's discovered? If it fails theres' literally no risk with the way MafiaScum's set up is of fake claiming cop.

That is why saying "so and so claimed cop" don't lynch them is bad. It's about analyzing all the pieces and seeing if you believe the claim. Until VF acts protown I won't believe it.

I think VF's claim is possible in terms of the literal way it is written but I don't know enough of the site meta to know if it should be trusted. ABR-made some genuine sounding posts today that made me think he really believes vf is fakeclaiming scum-I don't know why he lied about his tracker claim but apparently that's something he does all the time as either alignment. I don't really see anything scummy here.

vf-may be scum, he was highly scumread and then claimed cop before he got to L-1, then comes back with a very complex claim that isn't really all that believable, OTOH I wonder why anyone fakeclaiming would do such an elaborate claim which makes me think there might be some truth to it, especially after all the other set-up discussion was had, his flip would tell us a lot about those pushing him right now, I think

If I had to pick, he'd be the scum. BUT, I would rather not lynch him because IF he's being honest, I don't want to lynch the cop. I think at this point we need to lynch Viking Fan.

Reason being if they are town they aren't likely to live very much longer to provide needed results. I also have significant doubts about their claim.
Secondly a doctor is dead. While possible there may be two docs I don't want to bet on us getting results from VF tomorrow. That bet is just bad.
Thirdly I have seen an assocation in D1 between NJ and VF. If VF is scum then we may be able to get NJ afterward pretty damn quick.

Now let's look at the converse and assume VF is town. Then ABR's play with the fake claim and how he immediately entered suggested a strategy of wanting to lynch VF out of the gate. His entire posting isn't really talking about anyone else and it suggests a certain confidence. One I'd expect him to put his own life behind. Therefore if VF is town then ABR very likely scum.

Therefore lynching VF from my POV will net us 1 scum or 2 in two rounds. It's protown to do as we can't put off lynching VF for results that may never be true or that we may never see.

We don't. Point being, we've had a lot of claims already today. I did ask already if people wanted NJ to claim and the consensues seemed to be no.

Think of it as probability. If we lynch klingon, we know which way she's going to flip (either townie or scum). If we go for NJ, anything is possible.

That said, both of them are playing very scummy at the moment and NJ is not remotely participating and tries throwing suspicion on Grib, which is useless at this point in the game.

And I concur with Ozgin. Right now, klingon is L-1. Can you NJ people really get several more people over to your wagon in time? A no-lynch is horrible at this point in the game, and quite frankly, we need fewer players so the game is easier to follow on future days.

However, barring that the night kill should provide data as well so its not as if the lynch going through in itself would provide some spectacular game breaking insight.

I concur with you. I was simply pointing out the mathematics of it. There are a lot of reasons klingon should be the lynch today and NJ has played pretty scummy as well. I'm still sticking with klingon at the moment though. TBH, I wasn't seeing so much in the NJ wagon until his recent play with Grib, etc.

I'm playing how I am used to playing on my site. D1 is resolved through the gathering of information instead of social cues. It can all be referred to later and it helps cut down on loose fluff.
I think ABR's claim is going to have to be confirmed later, but I think I believe viking's.

An argument has been that we should see results before lynching.
1) We waited yesterday and scum fucked it up (if VF truth telling).
2) What reason do we think scum would have to not stop his death today?

It's like nothing went right for the franchise all year even though they put their heart and soul into it and their fans and opponents appreciated the effort they put out.

However that distrust spread to mafia and an unrelated incident of a user named viking fan ended up being suspected at the beginning of day one. Then they claimed cop and things look like that the might be okay and this season might take off. Then a ton of hijinks happened. A RB mafia and a doc died at night. Paranoid much?

It's almost like the viking fan's were so scared of a losing season they piled up all their guns at the front door ready to kill whoever came by instead of being a cop..Nah that's too insane. Instead viking fans got something worse...They got stuck with guard duty on game day. So while everyone else was doing their regular schtick he kept watch over Shinobi or so he claims? Or was he a cop? Was he scum? What is he?

After the Vikings game a crowd rallied to try to figure out what happened. "What should we do? Are they lying?" Occasionally shouts of NakedJogger from people including myself were being drowned out by the discussions of Viking Fan and soon after that Ellie and then back to Viking Fan. "Lynch him now! People proclaimed." The thread then devolved into other people attempting to out troll with capslocks and gender based arguments. Forgetting MathBlade has no gender so any arguments of pandering to gender are pretty much ignorant or ridiculous. :/ There is one troll. Me. I am the sole anchor of the 3M desk. Mine...shiny...

However people remember or forget...There is one thing certain....Someone in the mob is a liar and we plan on continuous reporting until we find out or the reporter desk blows up. This is the third time this game someone has said "It's MathBlade" as a valid reason to not read/interact with my posts. The past few completed games where it's MathBlade has come up have been when I am naming the scum team.

1) Dark Lord Potter -- named Titus and Mala and explained for two and a half days why them and people kept saying it is MathBlade even though I had mechanical information I even explained.

2) Dark Lord Potter -- Rubicon/Fonti scum team in most recent completed game. Granted Fonti was forced aligned with scum 3P but you get the idea. She spent a good 3 days saying how she just ignores my posts and we had a chat about that.

We are NOT going down this road here. In fact TSO you think I am irrational simply because I do not agree and am not worthy of being talked with. I think the people who don't want to lynch VF are being irrational but I try to convince them and interact it is part of the game. Who knows maybe I am wrong about VF but no one has provided a decent argument as to why. If you continue to do this and not post reads and not do anything protown this only makes me think you are scum trying to intentionally annoy me.

I am thinking ABR is more trustworthy mainly because of meta. When I was learning forum mafia after sis roped me in I ended up reading a lot of ABR's games because they were the main links on the wiki and introduced me to the concepts of tunnelling. Therefore I believe he is town. That and my belief from D1 that VF is scum jives.

So what do you look for in ABR's scum game?

Generally I look for flat posting or ones more against him taking the spotlight. His town game has a "flashlight" or "look at me" portion here regardless of role. He is doing that here during day 2 especially. So more than likely he's probably town.
