Something about BBT's play didn't sit right with me from my read through. It's like he's trying too hard to be open about his reads. That's the best way I can put it.

No, the play is the correct one. We force scums hand to not kill you and weaken the lynch pool. They either kill Titus which clears up any suspicion in that case, kill you to frame Titus (if they actually have a ninja), or kill someone else for the wifom of it all.

its basic mafia stratagy. they are force to play a diffrent hand there is no sense in playing "out wifom the scum" at this point

the primary point is this: you are confirmed town so in any lylo, it better to have it with one confirmed town then none.
