I mainly looked at RC's deathtunnel Day 1 to see how people were interacting with it. Keyser was kind of acting as foil to the whole thing, critiquing both RC and gerry throughout without really taking a stance either way. RC I was going to ask you about your experience with scum!Keyser and how he usually interacts with this kind of thing. Sheep buddied up to RC and pushed his tunnel. Vifam disparaged it and buddied gerry. Grendel joined in without really interacting with it, he was giving some weird analysis of his own wagon. mbg kind of argued both sides of it but didn't exactly buddy up anywhere, and voted JJD. LUV joined without reasons.

I disliked Sheep's interactions there the most and that's the main basis for me sorting him as scum.

I am empathising with some of his reactions to your "roleclaim" / "newb scum case" / bringing up your own Greatest Hits - thus, I can't just help feel that gerryoats is in the same boat as me. I could imagine the frustration and shock he is experiencing.

Those are all the quotes I can find that represent anything like you defending gerry. They're all pretty weak and fmpov you didn't really give much of a shit if gerry died or lived. After the last quote above you just go back to looking at other players for the rest of the day until he's at L-2, at which point you don't defend him AT ALL.

I don't know how Rautherdir ruled out a TvT scenario. Why did their interaction have to have scum in it? I disagreed with Rauth's "RC being town and gerryoat being scum" early conclusion. When I first read these, I ruled out vanilla town because they would care a lot more about the roleclaim. This left Gerry being scum in my mind. In addition, mafia would also care about the early roleclaim; and I thought the fact that he commented on the roleclaim afterwards may have been because a scumbuddy told him to push RC on that in scumchat. Even so, I didn't commit to my vote because it felt like I was missing something, that it still didn't make sense.

I failed to take something in consideration:

the fact that gerry could be a PR that could (with the assumption that RC was claiming cop) counterclaim.

The response makes sense in that light. It wasn't until later that RC claimed 'not cop, but with cop in title'. Gerry in these posts was probably signalling to town that he didn't believe RC's claim.

I made a mistake and didn't catch it until after Gerry got hammered. I did not expect day 1 to end so quickly, and planned to do much more analysis and pushing that day.

There are plenty of TPR-heavy setups these days from the looks of it.

Prior to that you're looking at potentially jailing TPRs and killing reports, and combined with BP it generates a significant amount of paranoia-inducing NK WIFOM that can make things difficult for Town to parse. If a JK makes it to lategame it can be as powerful as Cop, yes - depending on the setup.

Cop/Backup Cop isn't weak, it just isn't unbelievable to me in this situation. There's a good chance JK hits Cop at some point, whether intentionally or not, and Motion Detector can potentially out either of the roles if it isn't careful with what results it claims. With 5 PRs there's a good chance of a NK hitting in the PRs and also of a mistaken counterclaim, so that power has things working against it enough for me to make it palatable.

I'd read more of your games than probably anyone else on site. I knew your reptuation for fakeclaims, I knew people were intimidated by you/your push, I knew you were volatile. Why do you ask?

Coming out with confidence is the only possible way I could have pushed you there imo. I'm good at faking confidence. Not to mention this would be my first proper game of mafia ever and I was replacing my idol Transcend so the last thing I wanted to do was half-ass it. I actually had a completely different opener written before I decided to scrap it and go all-out on the push on you. PM from Pine told me I wasn't exactly sitting pretty so I knew I had to do something out of the ordinary to make any kind of positive impression on the game.

I read your games because you're a good player and I wanted to learn. I like your playstyle, it's interesting. I explicitly avoided reading much of players with fairly vanilla play. You have a few caveats in your game that other players don't have and your fundamentals are good. Your scumgame is better than your towngame because when you're scum you're pulling all the strings. When you're Town you have to actually gain the confidence of others and you can't let them in to what you're doing behind the scenes, which is where the most interesting and meaningful parts of your play are. Reading games is the only way I have to learn outside of my games and as a newbie my newbie games weren't enough. Pine as IC was really helpful but that was only post-game / dead thread and I'm a lot hungrier than that. Other players I read most heavily were Transcend, RedCoyote and kmd.

I've kind of ruled out Sheep from being likely scum by VCA so I'm basically locked on Grendel today. It's a good infolynch if nothing else. ThinkBig and I are the other most popular VT lynches last I checked.

We are not lynching in VTs because there is no confirmed scum in VTs and there is confirmed scum in Rautherdir/MBG.

I've already explained this. There is no reason to guess and lynch in this when tonight's results will do the PoE for us. How is this so difficult to understand? Why are you in such a rush to lynch a PR?

For Rauth to be scum he has to have been doing a weird gambit that he didn't foresee backfiring. For mbg to be scum they have to have tried to kill RC last night. Neither are particularly believable. RC is obsessed with it being impossible to have 5 TPRs even though it actually makes sense for none of the claims to be fake and now he wants us to lynch one of them when we can just wait a night and have it become obvious tomorrow whether or not one of the claims is fake.

There is not confirmed scum in Rauth/mbg.

So basically your big hope, with an admittance that one of the PRs might be scum, or scum have to be very powerful, is that scum will help PoE the PRs for you by killing one.

I don't think they even need to - but let's say they kill one - would you want to lynch in the PRs then?
And, if that's true - are you claiming you have zero town reads in the PRs? What if they kill that PR - isn't that a meaningless death at that stage?

For the love of god read the thread. If we assume there are not 5 TPRs then 1 of {mbg, LUV, Rauth} are scum. If they kill mbg then we get a result from either LUV or Rauth and have an educated guess as to who is fakeclaiming. If they kill LUV we may get a result from Rauth, we also have a chance of mbg preventing a kill, either way we have more information to go off and have a 50/50 on a scum lynch. If they kill Rauth we may get a result from LUV, we also have a chance of mbg preventing the kill, either way we have more information to go off and we have a 50/50 on a scum lynch. Reads are irrelevant here, this is pure statistical analysis of the fucking claims and PoE we have right now.
