Introduction:

• This is a newbie game. Don't be afraid to ask questions while you play! If your questions are role-related, or might give away your role, then please Private Message me instead.

Rules:

• This is a California game. That means that there is one cop, four townies, and two mafia goons.
  
  Days will last as long as needed, but if discussion becomes slim then I may impose a deadline. If you do not have the necessary amount of votes required to lynch somebody at deadline, no lynch will occur and the game will go directly to Night Phase.
  Each 'Night Phase' will last around 3 Real-Time days. Extensions by request. If you fail to turn in a choice for that night then you forfeit it.
  Votes must be in bold. (E.G.
  Vote: Mikeburnfire
  ) If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.
  Once a player has reached the necessary majority to lynch, the day is over. Unvoting them will not save their life, even if you unvote them in the same post.
  Forfeiting a lynch is allowed; it requires the same votes as a lynch. Day will end and night will begin.
  The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
  Once you're dead, you're dead. Please do not post if you are killed.
  Role PMs are provided in down this post so you can see what kinds of roles are in this game.
  If you're going to be gone for a lengthy amount of time, let everyone know in this thread please.
  If you think I've made a mistake, PM me and sort it out.
  You may not privately message another player unless your role specifically allows you to.

You are the basic role for the forces of good. You can do nothing at night, and during the day you try to lynch the Scum.

You can investigate one player each night and find out whether they are innocent or guilty of being mafia. Private message me your decision. During the day you try to lynch the Scum.

You two are the mafia. Each night you may talk via Private Messages and choose a victim from the rest of the players to kill. Private message me your decision. You win when you outnumber the town.

I'm not sure how other ppl define an IC. I've played a few themed, minis and marathon games but I'm quite noob in general. Shall we discuss our strategy before the game starts?

An IC is someone who has been a member of the site for at least 3 months and played in at least 5 completed games. It's really just used to categorise people for the purpose of the newbie queue, so it's not a completely reliable measure of skill and/or newbness.

A bit of pre-game chatter can't hurt, but strategy discussion is of limited use at this stage, since we have to talk about it openly in the thread, where the scum can see it. Some talk now might help us to shortcut the random stage a little, at least.

I don't think it would matter whether we start now or after it "officially" starts as long as we don't reach the votes required to lynch someone.

Also, scum can SEE the discussion pre-game and in-game, there's no differences.

Please don't fake claim cop or anything when you're not. I support the lynch-all-liars strategy. <- just to let you guys know.
