What a nasty little town this has become. Mafia have arrived and are systematically gunning down the nice townfolk. What should decent, smart people do?

One of the following four set-ups is used for this game:

a) 2 mafia, 1 cop, 1 doc, 3 townies
b) 2 mafia, 1 cop, 4 townies
c) 2 mafia, 1 doc, 4 townies
d) 2 mafia, 5 townies

Note: in view of the number of players, we will start in the day phase, although most larger games start with a night. The mafia will be allowed to communicate pre-game, though no role will submit choices until Day 1 is over.

Possible roles:

You are the mafia

. You may only talk with each other during the game's "night," not during the "day." You let me know before the night's deadline who will be your victim. You win the game when all the other players are dead.

You are the cop

. Every "night" before the deadline you send me an email with a name of your choice, and I will let you know whether that player is mafia or not. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are the doctor

. Every "night" before the deadline you send me an email with a name of your choice, and that player cannot die if attacked by the mafia that night. You cannot heal yourself. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are a townie

. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

I think the induction ceremony for which Iammars is talking about is random voting .. Although he'd have to verify that.

I'm not voting you because you didn't random vote, I'm voting for you because you feel that it's better to wait and vote for someone not participating. That may be true in a large game, but not in a newbie. There are only 7 of us, and the more you wait to vote that one non-active player, the more you yourself become unactive, and not really helpful to the town.

Yeah, that was the induction ceremony I was talking about. Random voting is a discussion sparker, and a traditional part of many mafia games. I just called us a cult because in all other games, we seem to dissapate the cult very fast.

Well, when you didn't vote at first you weren't waiting for someone to be suspicious, you were waiting for someone to be inactive.

On the other hand, I do have this thing against people that underuse apostrophes and capitalization (Because readability is good) and who put underscores and numbers in their usernames when they don't have to. For now,

Sorry for my nonsence post . My parents needed the computer, and I figured I had to post something just to say hi. Figured I'd go in with a bang, make some random accusations right off the bat. At least it got people talking . Blackberry, you seem to have taken my post too personally. I will stick with my vote, because it is the only lead I have to go on right now.
