Like Spyrex, I think setup speculation can be either good or bad for the town, depending on context. But let's suppose I was to believe that set-up speculation was universally scummy. If I had to pick my top three "setup speculating scum", Spyrex wouldn't be on the list. He's very carefully avoided any mention of the game mechanics. How does the claim "setup speculation is scummy" lead to a vote on Spyrex?

I agree with Spyrex. Posting a line of reasoning and then voting directly after it universally means that you are voting for that line of reasoning. Surely, if nopoint had intend that vote to be random at the outset, he would have posted a jokey pseudo-reason, or even just the tag "RVS vote". Not only that, but why cast a random vote if you have a scumtell you believe to be valid in this game? Granted, there's no clear scum motivation for what nopoint just did, but someone who lies for bizarre reasons is always an excellent candidate for scum.

Sadly, as we voted nopoint earlier, we are denied the pleasure for voting for him now. The reader is welcome - indeed, encouraged - to imagine us voting for nopoint here.

@Nopoint, so let me get this straight, you don't think set-up speculation is pro-town. Spirex didn't speculate about the setup. Now following your reasoning, spirex isn't anti-town in that respect, in fact he made the same point that you made in that vote post. So at this point in the game let's use your logic and say that all the speculators are anti-town, RC is one, muffin is another (I think), etc. Spirex holds the same views as you on setup speculation, thus using your logic, he isn't anti-town. Shouldn't you have voted for some one who you do think is anti-town? For me, (even if the case is very weak) we are out of RVS,

I leave this thread for a few days and LOOK WHAT YOU GUYS DO.


1. First and foremost: I DESPISE this quick, painless, and seemingly misguided early wagon. Scum on it, guaranteed. Perhaps multiple. And I know who at least one of them is. Read on.

2. After a quick ISO, I notice: Exe votes for me, THEN LATER, unvote/revotes me (i.e. not paying attention to who he's voting for, because it doesn't matter to him as long as

somebody

is lynched. The game is only 3 pages long. This is not hard to keep track of). Then, when called out on his reasons for voting me, unvote/votes Mr ActingUp over there when it looks like any wagon on me is dead/dying, and NoPoint's wagon may well take off. Scummy in two ways. (category: not paying attention to who he's voting for, just jumping on wagons with poor reasoning) (category: opportunistic, )

3. In his most recent post, Exe (inexplicably??) apologizes for being inactive (after only just over a day's absence). Keep in mind, he's posted as many or more posts than 2/3 of players in the game, AND nobody's called anyone out yet for lack of content. Not even the guy(s?) who have only posted twice. Scummy (category: false sense of having to contribute, feeling like he's not doing enough, feels like he has to apologize to stay in town's good graces. even though nobody has said anything, and his 'offense' of being 'inactive' was far from egregious. Heck, I haven't posted for days.)

5. Logically then, 2 + 2 = scum.

Also. My suspicion is: whoever jumped off Exe's wagon "too easily" may be a scumbuddy (if they were on it to begin with).

Common sense + common tells say that if another mafia is on nopoint's wagon, they probably did not START the wagon, so that means Copper is

not scum. Orrr wait. Perhaps he IS scum and just started the wagon on a trifle to see if it would go somewhere, and then people liked it, and it led to a 'good' (fast) wagon, based on very little actual evidence... But then every time I read his posts, he looks pro-town, so I'm totally unsure, but.... *wifoms* ... ahhhh... never mind. Ignore my wifoming. This is just me. Concentrating. Hard. Making everything more complicated than it needs to be.

Either way, it's still MUCH more likely that it's somebody in the middle (i.e. spyrex/cooldog) ... or mayhaps one of the "lurkers", if you can even call them that yet at this stage of the game.
