Attempts at logic? On Page 1? Madness! The Jester wrote:Yes. Yes, seriously. Nope. I just like being different. You did remind me of something.

@avinashv: I don't believe "everyone" has "voted" for everyone else yet. So you're giving false information.
That and can't you do something yourself? Asking someone to hold your hand through this? Think you'll have to walk on your own two feet.
I like logic, it's helpful sometimes. Page 1 is more then random votes and insignificant Fingers of suspicion.-

How was I overreacting? You said everyone voted, and wasn't true; therefore false information. If I instead said something like, "Oh my god, he lied, lynch him! BANDWAGON NOW!" That would be overreacting. Please show me where I was overreacting before giving more empty information.
You're not trying very hard to start discussion. "What do we do now?" How is that starting discussion?
What is interesting is that someone poked their eye at you and you get all "Ooh, I'm not the bad guy, you are." I believe that is what we call overreacting, see my example? I hope so, or this will be a LONG day 1.-

You are being a bit defensive, The Jester. It seems kinda like you're trying really, really hard not to offend anyone, which is making you stand out a bit to me.
Also, I believe(correct me if I'm wrong) that avinashv is a bit of a newbie. He only joined 11 days ago. "How are we proceeding" is a legitimate question for a new player. I agree with you, though, that it's not necessarily a discussion starterShow[i]Thus is our treaty written; thus is agreement made.

How am I being defensive?
Avin said I overreacted for saying he was lying? It was a statement, not a "Oh my god, what the hell have you done?" I said, no not everyone has voted. Being technical, does not make someone defensive.
This is a random phase, because I'm not insulting someone I'm bad? That's some crap logic you have there.
As I said before, I like being different. What's the difference between a random vote and an insignificant FoS? I don't believe a random vote gives you any information, it's the bandwagon that actually gives you something.-

For voting me with a lame ass excuse that I didn't read the rules. Dude seriously, I believe this is the traditional "Joke Vote phase" to "break the Ice" so to speak.
Actually, that was a joke vote. On other forums I play on, pseudo-reasons like that are fairly standard.Greasy Spot wrote:unvote: Jalathas
He's only been here a few months so he might have not noticed the "Joke Vote" phase in these games.
I suppose what I should have said is that you're playing fairly defensively. Defensive has bad connotatons around here, it seems. Like I said, it seems like you're trying to post without offending anybody. That generally implies you've got something to worry about if you do make a blip on someone's scumdar. The Jester wrote:How am I being defensive?

I'm thinking of voting for this "ashinav" fellow too. Can someone point him out?
FTR, I've played a little Mafia off line, but I haven't completed a forum game yet. It isverydifferent game. I'm currently in a few other games that are either D1 or D2, and I've run out of attempts to get discussion going. It's either having to deal with idiots who are playing for seemingly only to ruin the game for others or people getting on the defensive and not catching things like retort, sarcasm and tone that admittedly don't translate well into the written word.
The Jester: I was being mildly sarcastic:of coursenot everybody had voted for everybody else, but the sooner the joke votes get over with the sooner D1 can end. Don't patronize me, don't call me a liar, and let this damn thing go.
At least I did get some discussion started.-

Psh. Who needs logic when you have random integer generators. Logic is useful some of the time. Random integer generators are useful all the time. The Jester wrote:@avinashv: I don't believe "everyone" has "voted" for everyone else yet. So you're giving false information.
