I get the first part. Regarding the second part, this is Mafia, not D&D. I don't know if its the fact that I don't have the flavor knowledge that may be blinding me here, but I look at it this way.In post 171, JasonWazza wrote:It's not like a black mage will be a doctor, so if you can relate something to what it's possible equivalents are then you likely have an idea of what something can do.
Imagine this is some generic D&D magic item, like a Ring of Protection. We don't have AC here, so it has to do something else. Obviously it will be a protective ability in some manner, but that could be Bulletproof, or Doctor, or possibly even Bodyguard. I may be the only person seeing it this way, but from you saying things along the lines of "My class will benefit the most", it sounds like youwhich of the three it would be.know
If the flavor makes it that much more obvious, do you really think its more helpful to town to be this secretive about what it does?V/LA on Weekends-

Again, I don't completely agree with this. This gives a protective a specific target (if we have one), and then scum either has to go after the not strong townread, or waste a kill on a protected target (assuming no strongman/lucky rb/etc).In post 179, JasonWazza wrote:Also as an aside, giving the items (in general) to strong town reads is a bad idea, because your just asking for the Scum to start killing them.V/LA on Weekends-

Okay, that's fair. So why not the miller? In post 178, JasonWazza wrote:I do believe keeping it secretive is better, for the simple fact that then the Scum don't know how strong/weak it could be and this forces them into a worse spot.Sigh-

Personally I'd like to know what the suspected power is just because I'm curious, but I get that that might not be good for town. For example, if they think that it might be bulletproof, you want that to go to a townie without the use being known, so that scum are tempted to target the recipient and waste a NK. So, I'm cool with the secrecy.-

For Clarity's sake, if the hung person doesn't declare another player to leave his belongings to, where do they go?In post 186, Clumsy wrote:If hung, the player may declare another player to leave his belongings to during twilight time.Returning win rate: 4/1, 80%

It's probably still used in this case as kills are usually the last thing to resolve. In post 187, Shaziro wrote:Okay, so we don't lose items if a person dies, but if it's a night item and the person isn't guarded and dies, we still don't get to use it. We need to be careful-ish still.-

Shaziro, I'd like to give you the amulet, but do you think you can make the best use of it?In post 186, Clumsy wrote:A question was brought up to me that was not explained in the rules. I added it to the rules section, but here is the relevant rule:

Ok, I asked the mod if we could willingly hand over items without dying. We cannot. That said, I'd take the thing if you feel that's the best option, but I know I am not the class that gets the super biggest use out of the item in game. That said, that effect would be -very- powerful, and the only two others I've seen hint at their classes were not, so far as I could tell, hinting at the right class. Do with that as you will.-
