It could just be a simple mistake, and I'm tempted to believe that since I've fallen to it, but I think we all understand the effect this has, and I think Mert would be a little more careful...

That's a bit of a non-statement really, due the the fact that this is an open setup...

That said, I feel a little silly for pushing for a traitor lynch now that I have re-read the win condition

The only game I have played in where there was a traitor, it had a win condition similar to what I believed for this game. Not an excuse, perhaps - after all, it is my responsibility to read the setup before posting as I have, in fact, gone after Xyzzy for doing but it is the best explanation I can give. Apologies for any confusion that it has caused.

as far as posts with 0 content, he has quite a few.

I think the difference is, his posts are clearly labeled as being contentless, whereas other people are judging posts to see if they are contentless, if that makes sense.


anyway, times a ticking. we only have a couple RL days left before we go to night and a no lynch simply isnt a good option.

JimmyR has let us know about his absence. He will be given an extra 24 hour grace period. In other words. JimmyR, since he has already used his grace period, will be modkilled in 48 hours from his last CONTENT post. (I am not counting his "I'm away" post.)

For the time being I keep my vote where it is, as I am not convinced by Merts defence. It smacks to me like a mafia scum who found a nice reason to go after a townie and then forgets to see whether the same reason applied to himself. I expect a townie to be more careful. I think the deadline will hit this weekend, so all of us please make sure that you are on-line to vote and avoid a no lynch. I will switch to a forerunner if Mert does not gather more votes.

I would argue that it's not a "nice" reason for scum to go after a townie but, in fact, a horrible reason. If I was going to vote for somebody on false pretences, it wouldn't be based on a misread role in an open setup. That said, I'm going to stop this line of defense now as it's purely WIFOM, which I accept and there's no way I can argue against your point other than that.

We can save him, however. We just need to lynch one day earlier.

The one other person I am willing to lynch is Mert, but I am not as convinced as I am for logi. I'm keeping my vote on for now and see where Mert is tomorrow. I'm really not feeling the xyzzy bandwagon, so I doubt I'll switch there to get a lynch.

Well, we have two options, the way I see it:

[1] We lynch before the deadline and before the modkill to save Jimmy R.
[2] We accept the modkill, which brings us down to 4, then the correct play is no lynch to narrow down the choices next day.

I prefer [1] and as noone seems inclined to follow me against Mert, I'll pick the next most suspicious one to me:
