This is the prototype of a lazy scum-analysis, as it steps on as few toes as possible and leaves as little information to trace back as possible.

To adress the case against Papaya/Pickem:

I agree with what you posted about Papaya's vote hopping. It does seem suspicous. His case for Nekka and Hjallti being a scum-pair was also fairly silly.

However, some of the case seems to be clutching at straws. I don't see it as particuarlly suspicous that Papaya made an "oh crap" post after two townies turned up dead. It seems like a perfectly reasonable way to start the day (it would be equally suspicous if he just posted like nothing had happened). Also, because OTM was the most vocal player D1, it might seem to some like he lead the lynch. Papaya hadn't had your helpful analysis when he accused OTM.

In adressing pickem as the replacement, I have mixed feelings about him right now. His posts seem to be short and snappy, but that could be playstyle. I feel he has a point when he says it's difficult to get a read off D1. His argument with BP just seems silly. We should just lynch a killer today, and it doesn't matter which one. I have a hard time envisioning a situation in which we have to decide between lynching a confirmed mafia and a confirmed SK. One or the other would be fine with me.

For starters, I think his argument that Papaya's "aw crap" comment is phoney sympathy is pretty weak.

Secondly, OTM WAS the leader behind the charge to lynch N-L. Although others were quick to support him, it's not "factually incorrect" to say OTM led the way.

Finally, what I really meant when posting what I just posted is this: in my opinion, you can't just come out, make one post, then disappear again. Not good enough for me. Unless he's going to be actively involved in this game for an extended period of time, I'm going to keep on his case.

There were 13 pages by the time you replaced, which is plenty to reference back to. The fact that you think everyone going after N-L is indistinguishable makes me think that you may not have been really looking for scum.

@ CTD: I did comment on the deaths, in post 273 I speculated on SK v. Vig, and wondered who would want to NK Lowell.

Now where has NV9 gotten to?

I wondered.... after day 1 I had a scummy feeling about Lowell. If I were a Vig I would have killed him, so I think the mafia+Vig setup is certainly possible as well.

What is likely to get in these kind of games, to get a good balance?
All roles should be pretty plain usual roles, right?

*Suppose we are in a mafia+SK situation then there could be 3mafia+1SK or 2mafia+1SK+some strong townies.

*Suppose we have a Vig then I would think 4mafia + 1vig or 3maf+1vig+8vanilla.

*Suppose we have double mafia (say black and red) it would be 2 black and 2 red.

This I am unsure of, but 3mafia and a SK is a bit unbalanced on the anti-town side. Depends on the mod, really.

4 Mafia is too many. 3 is more likely, although once again, it depends on the mod.

*Suppose we have double mafia (say black and red) it would be 2 black and 2 red.

I think the very idea of two mafia in a mini game is unlikely.

Just assume that the mod has enough sense to not completely unbalance the game, but right now, there are too many variables up in the air to decide if this game is balanced strong town v. strong scum or weak town v. weak scum.
