I just readed everything through and oh god. It's truelly amazing how many people can act anti-town in such a short amount of time.

Anyway,

Nonono, giving newbies any sort of advantage because they are new is
stupidstupidstupid

Newbies are the most dangerous players in the game. Impossible to get a read on them based on previous play, so ignoring the only other aspect of their play guarantees that they'll win, even if they're scum.

Alright. Kissing up to xyzzy? No, we are simply friends and I respect him and his play. Politeness is not a scumtell last I checked. K-scope, I don't see how you can say that I am random.

Unvote, Vote:Schism

He gave you a reason. You make scummy post and that is what he said. How did you miss that?

I'll get you some quotes that make me feel scummy about you:
schismatized wrote:
xyzzy wrote:Everyone bandwagon OTM and then we'll make him claim. :P

(Actually, that tends to be a good strategy; a power role for a scum is a good tradeoff, and if we force claims every day, we have a much higher chance of finding scum if the power roles aren't lying morans...)
i can buy it
vote: off the mark
It's funny you're saying that my vote and the one of panzer is more scummy then this post of yours. The post follows:
schismatized wrote:just to be clear: i am in no way wanting a lynch this early. i just think putting pressure on people is a good way to reveal scum. and correct me if i am wrong we need 7 to lynch so 2 or 3 isnt THAT much pressure.
I'm really clueless here how votes provide pressure here to reveal scum. Votes provide pressure to let people post, not much else. It's not like people will claim scum once you pile votes on them. Again, a weak argument.
schismatized wrote:
AlSleet wrote:Eh, I don't know, I'm in favor of mass voting at the beginning to spark discussion but definitely not for role claiming. Seems like it would benefit the scum more to know who certain people are for definite as opposed to us only having an idea as to who the scum are.
but if they dont claim their specific roles, every1 will just claim town. i believe it is worth it.
Supporting a mass claim on day 1? I don't know if this is your first game of playing, but in general, this is bad, especially because we can't know what to expect.
schismatized wrote:still happy with my vote on theopor. it doesnt seem like hes said anything worth saying so far.. he has just belittled other players and thrown is vote with seemingly no motive. I know it is still somewhat early in the game and randomness is okay but still..
Followed by this post in a short matter of time:
schismatized wrote:

panzer i dont see why i need "the benefit of the doubt." i think you are just trying cast everyones suspicions on me.
FOS: Panzerjager
If you're still happy with a vote on someone, and you unvote it in the next post right away, without any explanation, with only 2 posts with not much content about your vote, then I'd say that is pretty scummy.

The funny thing is, even your reaction towards me outing my suspicion is something I see scum often do: throw with FoSes to throw back suspicion again.

Vote stays. For me, you are the best lynch today, by far

Your play has been almost inexplicably scummy to me on the last three pages. Mainly the fact that you keep going off task to insult someone or change your vote for what looks like a personal reason. Both are anti-town and make it seem not very unlikely that you're scum. I'll give it a little more time before I cast a vote against you though.

I've had bad luck with lynching newbs lately. Seems like they tend to look scummy even when they're not. I agree schism looks very suspicious, but xyzzy still looks scummy to me too, so I'm fine with keeping my vote there for now.

The fact that xyz is preaching the "no mercy for newbs" line is making him look much worse to me, by the way. We HAVE to take the newb-factor into account or else we end up lynching all our newbie-but-town early in the game and then we have little chance to win when we are down 4 townies (2 lynches, 2 NK's) and no mafia deaths.

Having the same suspicions as you is scummy? Gee, sorry. I wasn't going to FOS him while citing nothing. THAT would be scummy. Notice my vote isn't even on him either so I'm not bandwagoning or fixing to lynch.

No, you shouldn't assume I'm town simply because I'm so 1337. If I'm scum, then you've handed me the win, which is bad. (Well, I mean, for you anyway. :P)
I'm really clueless here how votes provide pressure here to reveal scum. Votes provide pressure to let people post, not much else. It's not like people will claim scum once you pile votes on them. Again, a weak argument.
Claiming isn't the only way to find scum. (This is where you say
Bah.
)
Supporting a mass claim on day 1? I don't know if this is your first game of playing, but in general, this is bad, especially because we can't know what to expect.
Neither can the scum, and we'll be telling the truth. Oh, and I never suggested a mass claim, before anyone takes my words out of context. I suggested putting pressure on players and forcing them to either lie and get caught or tell the truth and live.
If you're still happy with a vote on someone, and you unvote it in the next post right away, without any explanation, with only 2 posts with not much content about your vote, then I'd say that is pretty scummy.
Agreed.

No. New players have exactly the same odds of being scum as anyone else. We should be giving everyone the same scrutiny. There is no "newb factor"; new players are just as likely as anyone to be scum.

Xyzzy, I never said I found you townie. I said I respected you. Also, the biggest screw up in your theory is the newbie factor. Pressurized newbies tend to act like pressurized scum instead of pressurized townie and will make the inevitable vanilla townie claims be hard to tell apart from each other.

K-scope, early in the game it is common for people to be on similar wave lengths. I found my self think along very similar lines as you but you simply posted first.

The "newb factor" is not that they are less likely to be scum, it's that they are more likely to give off scum tells even when they are townies. You know this. Stop playing dumb.

The only reason i have gone off task, is because there are other players in this game that have brought me off task. I believe that there a few people in this thread that are using there out-of-game opinions of me to target me. This, IMO is BS. Sry to be so hotheaded but these players should know better and I think the reason they dont have any restraint to attack me, is because they are possibly scum.

Schism, you are the only person bringing personal things into this game. I have provided my reason. You have simply said "boohoo, you agrued with me in scum chat so i'm gonna make sure I vote you" and vote me then OMGUS FoSed Kscope. Why are you taking offense to being called scummy. Just tell us why you have been posting the way you have. That is thing any of us have wanted.

in answer to your question panzer, i have been posting the way i have because i have been singled out for no reason numerous times so far. i think that you and kaliedo, are doing this because you know that i am new and nobody seems to protest your illogical reasoning.
Panzerjager wrote:Schis is an idiot and a bad town player so your vote is wasted on him.
Your just trying to make me look like a bad player to get other people to vote for me. I have just been trying to reveal scum just as much as anyone else, and the only thing i can think of that i have done wrong that was scummy was telling xyz that he had a decent idea. in my mind, it still is a good idea but i realize it should be implemented later on in the game. Im not sure what my vc is at right now bc im lazy and the mod hasnt posted it lately, but if i get lynched, the town should definitely look at panzer.

Maybe you should try to explain yourself on the points I made instead of holding a "everyone who suspects me is scum" attitude. That's clearly not pro-town.
