Agreed!

My girlfriend and I have calculated that for us to drive down it would be approximately 2600 miles, which is 8 fill ups, at 35$ each, which is 280$. It's too bad there isn't someone here to split the cost, but we're considering going down anyway. This is the 60% which I was referring to.

Shea, to be serious, you could fly down for probably less and not be on the roads for 20+ hours both directions
I mean, you kids, thogh, you'd probably enjoy it :P

Don't forget to add in 1.5 oil changes into the price. Also check for toll roads that way, I think you'll hit them if you go down 95 south through DC at least. Still, approx 160 a person is cheaper than flying if prices remain static. Oh and lodging along the way unless you drive straight through. Although if you find your way to NYC, there's flights for under 200 to Jackson.
Sup, later.

It's 300$ round trip per person if we were to fly. 280 gas < 600$.

Mapquest highlights what is and isn;t a toll road. We estimate it will be about 10$ in tolls.

Hmm, I think what Shea has in mind sounds fun. It's something I would definately like to do, given the time.

Driving is fun. :)

Ugh. Tickets ended up being $401.60. *sigh*

But anyhow - that puts me at 99.9%! I'll have to have to the same times as Alky, though... flying in on the 11th, leaving the 17th - it was by far the cheapest way to go (any other days added at least $40.00, and that wasn't before looking at taxes). I'll double-check the times I'll be coming/leaving, but those are the days.

Okies. I should be at Jackson at 4:25 pm, on Wednesday (the 11th), and leaving 6:30 pm, on Tuesday (the 17th). I hope this isn't an overly long stay. =/

Yay PJ! Now I
have
to find a way to Thespival.

Me making it to Missouri/Kentucky is entirely dependant on catching the train and where I can get to on it. I won't have any other ride.

Yay! With PJ coming, everybody will wanna come!

And don't worry PJ, if we're being there too long, we'll just have to steal one of their vehicles and go on Cheerwine sprees until our flight takes off.

MoS-faire requires a train ride in addition to a plane ride, so it looks like I won't be able to make it. Ironically, I will have to transfer flights in Chicago to get to Jackson, but being able to be picked up/dropped off at the airport is absolutely critical.

Thesp, I will be sending you a PM asking for some details :o. I am at about 50% now, as though I likely will not be going to MoSfaire I realized that I thought I was looking at round trip airfaire and was in fact looking at one way, bumping the price to near 350$ :-(. I can afford it (I worked in the summer and saved money like nobody's buisiness in high school), but I wonder if 350$ is "worth it".

It's not at all, that's perfectly fine. We may rope you in to help us with some clean-up duties on Tuesday. ;)
