I'm not the most happy with it. I give him 50-50 odds on being scum. Not as bad as some lynches I've seen, where I'd give 10-1 odds on the person being town, but not as good as I bet we could have gotten today. Then again, WTF do I know.

Sore? Who's having regrets? Not me, I could have unvoted and actually wanted to see TJM lynched as a survivor/lying scum. What gave me a bad taste in my mouth was your
apology
for lynching him. No matter what he turns out to be, you're high on my list tomorrow...

Lynch
:

TheJiveMachine
: 7 (DragonsofSummer, chaotic_diablo, Save the Dragons, Mr. Flay, Cogito Ergo Sum, remussaidow, Skruffs)
DragonsofSummer
: 2 (TheJiveMachine, livingod)

Not Voting
: 3 (Aelyn, Cheesefan, Thestatusquo)

You surround
TheJiveMachine
, who has claimed to be some guy from an island of monkeys.

"What's next," you ask, "Monkeys in spacesuits and evil gorillas?"

You decide that he must be the first victim of the throne. You call out your decision:

"TheJiveMachine!"

Once you finish his name, two giant Venom Lords walk in, their very footsteps shaking the sanctum. They take TheJiveMachine, whose struggles are to no avail, and he is pushed onto the throne. Immediately, straps close around his legs and arms and neck to make it unable for him to move.

Nothing seems to happen.

The throne begins to moan, the noise slowly gaining in strength and becomes higher in pitch, on and on until it becomes a scream, piercing every eardrum in the sanctum. Suddenly, when it seems the noise couldn't possibly become higher and louder, it stops. At the same time, a massive spike erupts from the throne, piercing TheJiveMachine's chest, sending guts and gore flying everywhere.

Death...or liberation? From inside the husk, an ethereal spirit rises. It is twisted beyond imagination, but still, it is clearly an angel. It charges at you, bringing up an ethereal blade, until it suddenly stops. Three links, one yellow, one red, one blue, tie the spirit to the throne. The spirit struggles, but is slowly pulled into the throne. With his last powers,
Izual, Fallen Angel, Lesser Evil Aligned
, shouts:

"Forgive me!"

The Corpulents charge in, fighting with each other, gobbling up TheJiveMachine's corpse until nothing remains.

Deadline for night choices is 50 hours from now. In contrary with my earlier posted rules, I will randomize the targets of people who don't send it in. Cheesefan has also not responded to an earlier prod and will thus be replaced.

I'm going to hang back to my original suspicon. I suspected TJM for his defense on livingod, so I have a strong hunch that livingod is scum as well. He's not looking townish in my eyes with his latest post either. Skruffs would be my second choice.

Interesting. Vote: livingod though, speculating on the night's actions.
Any other reason's for that?

TSQ:
Vote: Skruffs
Why?

CES: Why'd you say "they left?"

we should really take the latin debates out of thread and start like, a general discussion of CES and remus argue latin.

HI, I'm replacing Cheesfan. I know nothing about the theme: I'm just replacing as a favour to Zinadaras.

I've done a read through and the following things piqued my interest:
  1. I like STD's point about DragonsofSummer's post 105 (A FOS on TheJiveMachineScum) - it did seem insincere; and it only made it worse when he voted for TJMscum when STD called him out on it (post 133).

  2. TSQ pointed out how DoS' post 105 was weird since DoS was only random voting at the time - a good point.

  3. But the DoS stayed with TJM the whole day, which I can't see him doing if he were TJM's scumbuddy.

  4. I doubt that chaotic_diabalo is scum - I can't see TJM being 3rd on his wagon if he was his a scumbuddy. He was also a prime mover on TJM's bandwagon (starting post 171). TJM was not under enough pressure at the time to warrant bussing - I think chatoic_diablo was being genuine.

  5. In posts 186-187, livingod tries to move pressure onto chaotic_diabolo, and therefore away from TJM. Interesting... And he defends TJM in post 220 as well...

  6. STD was onto TJM early (he provoked post 171) and voted him early.

  7. Mr. Flay was the next to vote TJM; but he is clever enought to see that TJM was a likely lynch by this point and wouldn't have wanted to miss the wagon if if he was scum with TJM.

  8. If I'm right so far, then Thestatusquo is town - see his post 197.

  9. Skruffs' post 221 pinged my scumdar - ostensibly defending C_D while criticising him. He doesn't mention the main badwagon (TheJiveMachine) at all! He then corrects himself saying that when he said "DoS you come in second place as scummy , to me" he meant TJM. Saying that TJM-scum is the second scummiest after C_D is exactly what I would expect TJM's buddy to do.

  10. The fact that DoS and TJM were the two bandwagons as deadline approached suggests that they are not scumbuddies. But its possible.

  11. Skruffs was on DoS bandwagon when DoS and TJM claimed, and was pushing for a DoS lynch - despite earlier saying that TJM was his number 2 choice after C_D (post 221). Was he being honest in post 221? It pinged my scumdar at the time and the fact that he seemed to abandon his TJM suspicions makes me even more suspicious.

  12. Has remussaidow said anything of substance? I don't think so.

  13. When I read Skruffs response to the claims (posts 347, 348, 356, 363) I think that Skrufs is scum with TJM. First, he seems much more willing to believe TJM than DoS - suggesting that DoS' claim is a safe claim but TJM's must be real. He argues in 363 that it it is plausible when (from what other people say) it plainly is not. Then bizarrely he appears to say in post 365 (if I have understood it correctly) that he would rather lynch TJM. Skruffs finally hammers TJM.
Following that analysis, you won't be surprised to see me

Guys... it was monkey island. Give me a break. I guess you *could* say that I 'hammered my scum buddy as a way to distance myself' - but I wasn't.

I fluctuated back and forth between the two choices - but I honestly had no clue that either of them were scum.

TSQ - weren't you heavily pushing for a DOS lynch *After* the claims, only dropping it after DOS effectively claimed mason? This makes your subsequent immediate vote on me seem more suspicious. :) Stating no opinion about TJM's claim but going after DOS, sayign in three or four consecutive posts that we shouldn't 'let him off the hook'? IT sounds a lot more like someone who is stressing out over their scumbuddies impending lynch.

Oh wait, here it is:
Thestatusquo wrote:He (DoS) claimed. I think he is the scummier of the two. I do not want to let him off the off the hook.

First, lets get this out of the way:
FOS: CES(YARR!)
this
but in the worst case scenario, he's just a Neutral.
is a scum argument. And is in fact one of the arguments I hate most in the game. "He's neutral, so we might as well lynch him, he's not town after all."

It makes the assumption that because we have a person who is not town, it is suddenly good play to give up scum hunting. It's a really easy way for scum to push a misslynch.

Now. Here's my analysis of the situation.

We have two claims: Something I didn't want from the start. One is partial, and one is full. Now we already have a name claim, (which is apparently strong) we should look at the ability and see if it fits.

My thoughts on TJM: I think he may be our lynch for today, but I certainly wouldn't be too happy with it. I've been in many theme games, and every single one of them have included safe claims for the scum players. Therefore, I see no reason at all why
scum would not use those claims. I mean, you can say wifom, but I would argue it's not, because the benefits scum could get from claiming neutral are WAY outweighed by the fact that everyone wants to lynch the guy who "Is at best neutral"

His actions have been arbitrarily scummy. Especially his responses to the case brought against him, and his actions in reaction to the DoS wagon. I just can't help the fact that I kind of believe the claim.

I'll get to DoS in a second. I have to go eat dinner now.
It's weird that someone who was so "mistakenly" pushing for a mislynch yesterday is so urgently pushing for another one today - right off the bat at that. Or were you perhaps hoping people would forget about that, Shea?
