Ok. I made my comment because of the fact I played an high tier aggro deck that has consistently shown up and got ROFL stomped every single round I played in due to the deck that was across of me and some mistakes I made. People can play aggro and be perfectly fine but in the major tournaments like Star City and Grand Prix. You will see less aggro decks in top 8 than say your local TCG Player Bronze/Silver event. As I top 8'ed in the Silver event that was being held there while I loss horribly in the main event. You run into less Aristocrats, Junk Rites, and Reanimator.
Hell I'd argue that more newer players will run aggro over the decks I named because they take a lot more skill than Aggro.
That event looks pretty competiti-WHAT IS THAT 50% OF THE TOP 8 IS AGGRO?
Nah
Nah my biased eyes must just be playing tricks on me right.
I could also mention going 5-0 for first place at FNM but obviously its not as credible and you'd just have to take my word for it that I beat UWr, Junk rites, and Esper (as well as 2 Naya blitz-the only aggro deck Shea respects-because of their horrid inconsistency).
So yeah I'll stick with the link

I just played gr aggro, and I liked it so much I traded for the deck on the spot.
aggro IS a viable archetype. so is control. you cannot dismiss one archetype based on words of a "pro". the only thing that can do that is results of tournaments.
I wouldn't say that straight aggro is completely unviable, just that the meta right now is very anti-aggro (owing mostly to the success of aggro right when GTC came out. Watch when DGM comes out, aggro will be big. It always is after a set release until the meta shifts to accomodate it)

And I've taken 5-0 for weeks playing OmniDoor. FNM Viable =/= Competitive successful
You and Bv decide to comment on FNM instead which I've already admitted wasn't a good basis for the case was just an extra fuck you added on to the pile?

dis thread always ripe with lulz

Mono Red got 1st at a SCG event awhile back, I just wasn't in the mood to post it in this thread because I figured shit like this would happen.
Your argument keeps changing
"Aggro doesn't place well enough in any event, its unviable as fuck. 20% in the top 16 where more than 40% horseshit numbers HERPDERP played aggro probably?"
"Oh Aggro made up 50% of the top 8? Well it DIDNT WIN did it?"
I seriously can't believe you just posted that.

You still think of aggro as just this oversimplified archetype that turns things sideways and can only win with luckdraws?
And that once the aggro "figures dem out" the meta stabilizes and aggro is UNVIALBE AGAIN HOOOOOO.
You're regurgitating shit that you've probably been fed your entire life of playing magic, refusing to change or to see new sets and metas in a different light. In your mind, since it was true in the past, aggro is NEVER viable except MAYBE during the first month of a new meta.
Like aggro is literally incapable of evolving decklists and angles of attack as a meta progresses.

Fate, Chill the Fuck out for one goddamn minute. MY DECK THAT I PLAY COMPETITIVELY IS AGGRO.
I know what Aggro has to do to win, and I know how it can lose. I'm getting my Expenses towards Local Major Tournaments paid for. So I am aware of everything that will happen. Which is why when I play in the Next TCG Platinum event that is coming to Texas, I will be playing Aggro since the Set will have just came out.
You have to be open minded to all possibilities to decks you will face against. The meta surrounding the venue. Like Texas is known for Aggro.
I never said Aggro isn't Incapable to evolving, It's just Aggro has less cards Viable for it since the mana curve is really low.
Unless you are running Jund Aggro, Which has low cost removal in the forms of Tragic Slip, Ultimate Price, Devour Flesh, and Deathrite Shaman against any Reanimator Deck.

Nah, Jace is creeping upwards because every B&R is going to have random "OMG Jace might get unbanned!" talk. His price didn't deflate at Gatecrash's B&R, it won't now.
I wish skylasher was common. Take that flickerstorm and delver!
Oh well. I dont see anything that really looks that exciting in pauper. +5/+5 sorcery speed for 1g, maybe... deputy of acquitals maybe in esper(familiar) storm? I would be quite surprised if it did, actually. Nivix cyclops has a place in weedragonauts, but that's barely a deck. Might be more of one now I guess. Hidden strings is a small possibility as well. Nothing else exciting.

Drafted a Crackling Perimeter deck at a work draft today. Lots of fun.
