and if you think that's not enough to warrant me yelling at you, fuck off. Seriously. You shouldn't just DO SHIT that deletes entire worlds, and if there's EVEN A CHANCE that it could, and you simply HAVE to do it (which you didn't) then you should back them up RIGHT BEFORE you fuck with everything. Maybe make this a policy in the future? Especially when SOME people are trying to reset from the last time one of us fucked everything up.

because there is no easy way for me to just back something up on a whim. backing up manually is something that would take close to an hour to do, as i would have to download a copy of the entire server's world folders. thats what the automated backup is for.


i sincerely apologize for trying to make people happy, as to the number of people (not just blake) that have asked for something that bukkit offers (commands, griefprotection, etc).

M did you backup the entire server before updating to 5.1.1?

the difference is installing bukkit takes mere minutes, backing up manually and not letting the automatic backup due it, the only means i know how to backup, would take hours. when attempting to do something you believe will work 100% without issues, has other servers running it flawlessly without issues, and that you assume will take less than a half hour of your day, you don't normally think first "oh hey i'm going to spend hours doing this other thing first just in case something i don't think will cause issues causes issues". you spend the twenty minutes doing it.

then when that twenty minutes ends up taking 3 hours to fix, yes, it sucks. and yes you wish you had the foresight to not do it at all in the first place.

Use Weed-X to stop weeds, Blake.

DON'T use weed-x. Weed-x reduces GREATLY the attributes of your crossbred seeds, to the point that they become actually useless if you want to do anything with them other than having a pretty garden.

Stay near your crops, learn to recognize weeds, kill them manually.

Yeah, crossbreeding crops is kinda boring and work-intensive. I suggest you find something to multitask while doing this. Thaumcraft, podcasts, whatever

Once you get some crops with high resistance, that you don't want to crossbreed anymore, you can leave them alone in isolated fields for harvest. But crossbreeding kinda requires constant supervision.

How to check stats and stuff for crops...?

First you need to left click a fully grown crop to get its seed bag (depending on the crop stats, it drops a variable number of seed bags).

Then you need a "Cropalyzer" to analyze the seedbag. The cropalyzer is a hand held item that consumes EU from a batery to analye a seed bag. To completely analyze the seedbag, it takes around 10k EU.
