1) It disables many commonly known and widely accepted crafting recipes, which diminish the value of pre-acquired knowledge through research of the Mods contained within the FeedTheBeast ModPack.
2) It eliminates access to, or makes impossibly difficult to acces, many facets of the ModPack (including but not limited to) large portions of IndustrialCraft 2.
3) The GregTech Intergalactical Mod is simply an add-on to IndustrialCraft 2, a Mod which (in the opinions of many of our FTB server-goers) would be better-served without it.
Eeeeeh. Looking into it a bit more and there are some parts of Gregtech that are pretty awesome. Just a shame there's so many layers of derp on top of them.
(Mostly) on hiatus until further notice. Planet MafiaScum 2 will be modded by Inspi and JDGA - go check it out!

I'm trying to keep the awesome and rid of the derp. not disabling entirely.
I disabled all the "expensive_*" recipes, so it should have fixed most of the qualms of Gregtech, but if you find anything else wacky gregtech does, let me know guys. AND EXPLAIN IT IN DETAIL so i can try to find the configfor it.

GregTech is still active. I'm saying we should eliminate it completely, I don't understand how we still can't make so many of the IC2 Machines without expensive/impossible-to-create GregTech ones. I would love izak to explain the benefits of GregTech to me, because I can't see any. Titanium is one obvious flaw, and instead of copping out and spawning it in like we have been (which I don't approve of at all) why can't we find a permanent fix to all of the problems?
^ That, and what do those things do? Would you consider it to be fair that the Mod which allows for the use of those machines forces most of IndustrialCraft (which most people do know) to be worthless/unattainable?
I'm just trying to get information here. In fact, izak, could you point me to a GregTech Wiki if I don't find one via Google in less than a minute?
Yeah the one Wiki I found is woefully incomplete and horribly formatted, as is GregTech's general purpose in life.
Deestroy und remoove zis monstrosity from zhe Modpack plz.
Also: @FTB users, gregtech is being ousted from the server. i suggest removing it from your client as well if you want NEI to work properly and give correct recipes.
(Edit mods> find it>disable)
EDIT: nevermind. I need everyone to use NEI right click the Mods Item Subset, then left-click GregTech-Addons inside of it, and find any gregtech items you have AND GET RID OF THEM.
we need all backpacks lavafired, and etc in order to delete it.
List of gregtech items may be useful, especially since everything just kind of blurs together when you're playing.

No, and if there's really no other way to do it then I support it being removed. I just hoped we could do more to make it work first.

I don't know much about IndustrialCraft and GregTech, but based on the discussions that have taken place and what I've read about the add-on on the interwebs, in order to make this work, we'd be essentially re-writing GregTech completely to change a lot of stuff back to how it was in the vanilla IndustrialCraft. We might as well write our own mod to IndustrialCraft if we're going to put in so much work to keep the few features of GregTech that people actually enjoy and change the majority of GregTech's changes back to the way it was. Not worth it, in my opinion.
