Does that mean you'll post a lot?...Yesssss!
Even better. It means I'll post a lot but forget which game is which, accuse the wrong people, and generally waste everyone's time trying to figure out "what the hell is Lowell doing?"

Yep. That's my MO.

Eh, I think excessive lurker hunting is a scum tell.

This always happens in slow-starting games. There are 1 or 2 people who are insistent that LURKERS EMERGE and account for themselves, posting "X hasn't written, FOS X" and "Mod, let's get a prod on Z". This is an easy way to be "active" without doing anything confrontational, and I don't buy it as pro-town play. It's a bigger deal if we get all the way to lynch without hearing from everyone... but at this stage, I'm not sure it matters all that much.

FOS Wuffles

Incidentally, but I have yet to see a game in which scum have been true lurkers all the way to the end as you suggest. Everyone always worries about it, but it never seems to happen. Yeah, WIFOM I guess, but whatever. I think the temptation to "fit in" as scum is too strong to ignore the thread entirely.

I wasn't trying to disprove you. I was trying to point out that not all of us care about lurkers that much. At least, not at the point where we need to vote them for no other reason. If they're lurking, the mod will prod them. Then they'll post something or be replaced.

M'eh, whatever. Carry on.

@ziliu- mostly I just meant that, given her behavior, she deserves more than one vote. I use "slowing us down" and "lurking" as different things. The latter is being invisible, while the former is being visible but not very helpful.

For the record, I'm still not sold on the TSQ bandwagon. The "evidence" is flimsy, and I think most people know it. I thik what happened is he made a mistake, then got a little to angry over the response to it. This looks more like a case of a player digging his own grave than of deserving to be buried.

. A bit embarassing, since earlier I said I wouldn't.

Something about the way TSQ continues to attack his accusers doesn't feel right. He slings mud at Luna and Arafax, then is happy to vote for the next big bandwagon that comes along (Wuffles). He sets that vote up to not look implusive in this post, where he says he plans to "re-read all [Wuffles'] posts." Honestly, I didn't even have to read down to his next post to know what would come of it.

SV- I agree with you about FOSs. A person's reasoning for removing an FOS can be every bit as illuminating as their reasons having them in the first place. People who have opinions and are not afraid of them are, IMO, useful for the town.

I, too, eagerly await Wuffles' much-hyped epic. Has anyone bought the movie rights yet?

Wuffles and SV, I appreciate the posts. I wish people would do this more often. The fact that you're trying to move the game forward with these posts is, in my mind, very pro-town.

Arlen, do me a favor and follow TSQ around to see if he attends any meetings in the back offices of stripclubs or butcheries. Also, check under his pillow for a pistol. Report back to me.

Scum hunting. I'm on this, people.

I wish I had an army of clones, all of whom would play mafia together, communicating by clone telepathy (which I can only assume exists) and making us an invincible mafia-crushing mason group. That is, when we're not off fighting (or, on slow news days, committing) crime.

Seriously, does anyone have anything here? Or are we just inserting the word "scum" into everyone's names? Don't get me wrong, that's exceedingly clever, but what else we got?....

UNVOTE

Vote Elias_the_thief

I won't do a post-by-post, because that's far too much work for me and I want this post to be short and to the point.

Question: how many people do you think Elias has accused of being scum in this game?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

The answer is ONLY ONE. The entirety of his posts are devoted to the attack of exactly one player: TheStatusQuo. And okay, we get it, they're brothers, so they fight, how cute. But something about how Elias continues to attack the same points over and over (even after TSQ has long ago tried to move on) strikes me as strange. My opinion? That Elias has found a "safe" target and wants to use him as much as he can. His only other quasi-accusations come briefly on Luna (a grammatically-challenged newbie AND an infrequent poster) and just now on Wuffles, after SV posted a PBPA. Both ridiculously easy (read: safe) targets at the time. Check out his most analytical post (#248) if you don't believe me. What are Elias' conclusions? That only TSQ looks scummy and that a few others should post more. Oooo, bold.

One final note. The original suspicion of TSQ, and the reasoning Elias latched onto while claiming to not latch onto, was that he cast the lynch-1 vote for Elias on page 2. In light of the fact that they are brothers, TSQ's explation that he didn't realize the vote count seems all the more plausible. Hell, who WOULDN'T vote for a bandwagon on one's sibling? Yet, AT NO POINT does Elias point out the possibility that this is what happened. Never does he even mention "hey, guys, we know each other in real life, he might have just been trying to mess with me" even when the theory that it could have been an accident was being thrown around.

@all, sorry I haven't been more active. I'll be back in full force by Monday, I promise.

I like Norinel's reasoning, actually. Or, most of it. I think Wuffles has gone out of his way to (1) try to lead conversation, and (2) accuse others for specious reasons. The fact that this has CONTINUED despite the deadline makes me think it's more than just idle chatter.

Wohooo long live scum! Long live scum!

My basic plan, I guess, was to try to push for a mafia win. I figured that's the only way the game could end soon enough that I wouldn't be nightkilled. However, I can't say I had any better idea of who the mafia were than the townies did, so I doubt I had anything to do with it.

Question for all: Does anyone have any suggestions of how to play as a nuetral? Particularly a neutral without any abilities? I was pretty much confused as hell.

I would have claimed your role as soon as the vig died.

The town can't afford to lynch you and the mafia obviously don't want to nightkill you. All you have to do is avoid being marked as a lying scum trying to ease their way through.
Hmmm I thought of that, but I was worried the (a) town, or (b) scum wouldnt' believe me, and that I'd be killed by one faction or the other.
