Basic concept is a set of switches controlled by the players effect the power of the town or scumteam or both.

A little like Pick Your Poison or buy-a-power games, yes?

This was the original direction I thought to go in with them, yes. Ultimately the idea needs an incentive to make alterations, without destroying the game state completely.

SMBM II had switches that basically enabled roles, and a Compulsive Switch Presser role responsible for pressing them. Might help give you some inspiration.

Thanks, I'll take a look through the game to see it went.

Would anyone be interested in Eragon Mafia?
I'm back, sort of. Not a lot of free time to play, but I'm planning to be modding some mish mash and stuff this winter.

Eragon Mafia, a 17-Player Large Theme, will be coming to the large theme queue soon(ish) if all goes well. If you're interested, PM me to pre-in.

I'm gonna make a Hunger Games mafia.

Probably large theme, possibly encompassing all the trilogy.

Need help designing it though, so if people wanna help, drop me a PM. Otherwise who knows what I'll come up with.

I am tentatively putting out an APB for moderators with LOTS of complex game/mechanic experience for Mafiaception, an idea I randomly spawned in ScumChat tonight.
PM me if you have 18+ months of
moderating experience
on MafiaScum and might be interested.

Maybe if I post this in a more appropriate thread I might get more response. From the Mafia Achievements thread:

In post 27, iamausername wrote:p. sure this thread is going to make me start designing Achievement Unlocked Mafia.

may or may not involve elephants

I have actually been working on this on and off since making this post. I want it to happen, because I think it will be incredible, but it is also undoubtedly the most ambitious game I have ever attempted to design, and possibly the most ambitious anyone has ever attempted to design, and I probably need some assistance if I'm ever going to actually see this through to completion, so basically, this is a post to whore myself out for co-mod/designer/whatevers, because I think that is a smart thing to do on my first day back from a four-month siteflake.

Generally, the idea is that everybody begins as vanilla, but each player will be assigned a unique set of 20 achievements, which will be various tasks to perform, through which they can unlock the full potential of their roles. Obviously, this requires me to come up with 20 individual achievements for every player slot, of which I am aiming for 18, making a total of 360 different achievements. That's as much as I want to reveal to the public. If you think this sounds like something that you could and would like to assist with, please drop me a PM.

I had a truly demented epiphany yesterday that would allow me to make full use of my RL occupation for the sake of mafia-game entertainment--

CLERGY MAFIA!

Basically, I take clergy characters from a wide variety of well-known movies and TV series encompassing an array of genres (comedy, drama, thriller, etc) and fashion them into a Large Theme, possibly with some more complex mechanics based on the characters' portrayed abilities or characteristics in their films/shows. I also promise lots of church-related funnies.

Who's in?

PS: If you'd be willing to backup/review, lemme know. :)

I just had an idea. A large theme game (>20 players, probably) made up of alignment-confirmed mason partners. An even number of scum, so they can claim masons. Some mason pairs would be vanilla apart from the talking, and others would have a factional-type power that could only be used while they were both alive.

Any interest?
