As for the first two, what's to refute? I do that all the time, as you well know. That speaks more to my question than it does to mathcam's, so I'll respond. What more there is is that normally one claims when one is being run up in order to deter people from voting you. As a full mason in a normal game, this would be a reasonable strategy. But, as has been noted several times, it doesn't mean anything in this game. And you yourself said:
