Pretty much every band that got way more credit than they ever had any right to get. Genric Radio Rock trash. I can guarantee 0 points from me if you enter something that sounds like any of the above bands.

You realize wikipedia would only list the generic radio trash because there's no point in listing the ones people don't know? Needless to say, the band I'm going to submit is none of the above.

Edit:
went to the wiki page and look for that list, I guess you just picked and choose ones that were generic radio rock? I- I don't even have words for that. You can't just selectively pick the generic radio rock bands out of a list then call the entire genre generic radio rock.. You've sort of stunned me with your irrationality...

Oh today I found out my friend now listens to only "post-hardcore." She can't even explain what it is.

She had me listen to some. It kind of sounds like Panic at the disco but not as bad and with a bit more screaming and people you've never heard of.

I hate genres so much.

Sounds like she might not know what it is.

Following the emergence of Punk Rock in the late 70s, bands began to expand upon its aesthetic of 'loud, hard, and fast' musical and vocal technique. Mixing together elements of their forebearers from Hardcore Punk (largely Black Flag and Dead Kennedys), Experimental Rock bands like The Velvet Underground and The Residents, with a helping of the sounds of its close cousins in Noise Rock and Emo, Post-Hardcore has undergone a continual expansion and shifting in what constitutes its musical identity.

Post-Hardcore can be considered to have begun in earnest in the Mid-80s. These bands were based on Hardcore Punk's aggression and dynamics, but many of them expanded it through longer and more complex arrangements with an ebb and flow of building tension and release both in the music and vocals. Notable bands of this early era are Big Black, Hüsker Dü, and Minutemen.

Soon after, a second wave of Post-Hardcore emerged. In addition to the traditional influences, this owed an equal debt to the addition of Post-Punk bands like Television and Wire, with a sprinkling of Dub, Funk, or Jazz-Rock. Some bands, Fugazi for instance, have straddled both styles.

Post-Hardcore today encompasses both of these previous incarnations, and has incorporated what can be considered a third-wave set of artists who took cues from first-wave bands, and added an aggressive mix with Emo, known as Screamo. Envy and Off Minor are good examples of this style.

I never said the rest of it doesn't sound like that, all I said was that not all of it sounded like those bands. Don't put words in my mouth then call what you said irrational and attribute it to me.

You guys will understand once I enter my song. I'd have done it already to prove the whole genre is not all generic radio rock if I wasn't saving it for a later entry.

post-grungePost-grunge is a derivative of Grunge that emerged in the mid-1990s with bands such as Live, Bush, and Foo Fighters. Although it adopted the vocal style, angsty lyrics, and "dirty" guitar sound of grunge, the songwriting placed more emphasis on creating a commercially acceptable sound. It therefore downplayed the more noisy and abrasive elements of the genre and emphasized pop hooks and more conventional song structures. It became one of the leading popular music genres from the mid-90s to the mid-00s, particularly following the death of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain in 1994. In the late '90s and early '00s, the genre reached its peak in popularity with the rise of such bands as Creed and Nickelback.

Does anyone here like Punk-rock/indie-rock? Everyone I know goes "meh" whenever I mention the bands I like, and then go on to list classic rock bands, rappers, pop singers, or (gasp) country singers.

As far as post-grunge goes, the list that Panzer posted is pretty bad if not just for the fact that Foo Fighters isn't listed. Also, just because many of those bands are very similar (same genre though..) doesn't mean it is all bad. You can like some of it just because it sounds good. By that logic, everything that is very similar to many things is bad. So, anything that is popular is very likely to be bad, so I find that you are just trying to be hipster, which ironically is 'in'.
The melody of logic always plays the notes of truth.
