The trouble with guess the scum N1 as a tiebreaker is that various teams will have different games to be guessing for. It be possible that up to three teams no would be able to participate at all (that would be exceptionally unlikely but if it came up those three would be sure to tie and the tie breaker would be worthless for them.)
Perhaps if there were another game that none of those in the team game were in the teams could try to guess scum there but that would require yet more coordination and some inconvenient restrictions on replacements for the future.
Again, Troll thinks the easiest solution just be to let multiple teams tie for the most points, but it no be Troll's call to make.

Hmm. I'm seeing the wisdom of Troll's thing, but I think we can go further.
People on mafiascum are generally gracious in defeat; the main reason we can't have popular vote is that we can't risk strategic voting. Maybe, after the games, all of the teams who aren't tied for first vote on MVP? As in, if you are on a not-winning team, you vote for the MVP for both factions in your game? With a secret ballot to keep it relatively pure. I think we can trust people to vote fairly if they know they can't win and their job is to honor the best players."Don’t buy a dozen eggs if you just want a hardboiled egg. Don’t buy a head of lettuce if you just want a salad. Don’t buy eggs and lettuce if you want egg salad because those are not the right ingredients." -Julius Bloop-

I like hito's suggestion as well, but my concern is that people will be biased toward "big name" players, and it does tend to punish players who sacrificed themselves early in the game. Few people will vote someone who got NKed on N1 even if that was the best play that could have happened.VP Baltar wrote:Agree with hito's suggestion.
You could also do most RL days survived by all combined team members or something...though that could also result in a second tie..-

Maybe after the game ends, all players in that game are forced to send a list of all the other players in order of how well they did? Then, the team that averages the highest wins."Animorpherv1's posts are so powerful that prolonged exposure may cause vertigo, nausea, acute tinnitus, and in rare cases, death." - vonflare

If you're problem is that everyone will put themselves at the top, keyword is OTHER (meaning not you).xRECKONERx wrote:

Re: VP's idea - Total days survived punishes people for being NK'ed.
How about the number of players from the team who were lynched during day 1, then as a second tiebreaker, the number of players from the team who were lynched during day 2? There's some metagaming possible there, but getting lynched indicates bad play, and on day 1+2, no one knows which teams will be winning at the end. Only problem is that IMO this rewards teams with a lot of scum roles again, as they are less likely to be lynched early.
Speaking of teams, there will be plenty of grounds for speculation, and the captains might accidentally be revealed. Making them public would equalize the information.
Also: a player who is dead in their own game replacing a team member who can't continue: allowed or not allowed?Just because a majority of a group of people decide it's okay doesn't mean it's not murder. - Cobblerfone-

I'll have to think about the rest, but as to your question: not allowed I'd say.Herodotus wrote:Re: VP's idea - Total days survived punishes people for being NK'ed.

@Herodotus, hmm, the lynched day two bit is a slightly out of the players control in some games with investigative roles and what not but lynched day one is a great tie breaker. Not being the day one lynch is good play in almost all situations. Troll would support just that first tie breaker and then allow for ties if it failed.
Troll also supports letting team-mates replace into games if replacements be needed whether them be dead or not actually. It be someone who be current on the game which be very desirable and, as Troll has said, Troll mostly be interested in high quality individual games.

Yeah, like "Well he played like total shit in game 3... where he was a power role." Or "He tunneled me for all of day 2... when I was scum."
