ITT Nobody Special morphs into his counterpart.

I skipped past all the stuff about probabilities. Don't care too much for it.

Me=Weird's questions:
  1. Long deadline, please, Fishythefish. Though, TBH, I think days that drag on and on can be tiresome as well.
  2. Immunity. Double-vote would be useful later on, but for the most part, having a pro-town player around to give thoughts and whatnot is a wonderful thing.
  3. No comment.

1. LONG deadline. I INSIST ON THIS. Long deadlines favor TOWN.
Well, yes.

BUT, don't confuse LONG deadline with "twiddly thumb dance party". If the stars align and its death time early, don't pish posh it.

That said the Jack-move doesn't bother me.

I'm going to leave the deadline in place for now. I don't think long deadlines are always good. I will extend it only if I think it will actually do us good.

I think the best obvious use for godhood is to collect claims of information PRs. If a cop etc. is my priest, they can claim their result through me. If they claim through the evil god, that can't be any worse than claiming to the game as a whole.

Since the scum were randomly assigned after the priests were, there is no possible correlation there. Whatever we see in terms of flips, it's never more likely to find scum in one group than another. All the numbers flying around either say this, or are bad maths - applying the same logic to any arbitrary division of the players makes this clearer.

I'll settle for someone I know nothing about and

COUNTERWAGON because I like Me=Weird.

VOTE: brokenscraps

Nobody Special confirming that he sent PMs but not specifying an amount piques my interest, but it's probably irrelevant for the moment; DeathRowKitty and Jack confirming that they received a PM similar to Lady Lambdadelta is unsurprising.

...hmm. Irrelevant or not, I still want my curiosity satisfied. I'mma roll with this anyway:

Somewhat related to what, exactly?

Thinking about the powers of my fellow Gods, I think we should be controlling DGB. I do not want scum getting immunity from anything. I suggest DGB gives immunity, near the end of the day, by popular vote - this doesn't hurt us secrecywise, as she has to do so publicly anyway, and it vastly improves our odds if DGB is town. I'd be happy to turn over my power as well if necessary (seems only fair).

NS's power is a bit weird, and not very dangerous - we can always just revote on the wagon. I see no circumstance in wish we'd wish to control it.

Thoughts?

Dear FishyGod,

DGB and her devoted vassals are already contemplating how to use the immunity.
You have nothing to fear since you are Immortal. We lesser beings need some protection from the violence abroad.

Hi to everyone mortal and immortal.

VOTE: farside22

I'm too sleep deprived to post anything substantial or indulge in pages of set-up speculation. I have a few town reads so far, but no sense outing them this early.

zoroaster, the answers to these questions are probably really obvious, but just to be 100% sure:

1) Does the evil god know who the scum are?

2) Do the scum know who the evil god is?

3) Would the evil god be able to communicate with the scum as well as in the QT?
Nobody Special wrote:I confirm that I sent one (or more) PMs asking after abilities. I acknowledge that even though I'm Immortal, that may have been a tad aggressive. And potentially a mistake.
Why is it a mistake? Because it makes you look scummy? Because you risk harming the town? But furthermore, you're skirting over something important.

Even if you feel like being coy about your alignment, is Jack joking, yes or no? Did he send you a PM claiming to be scum? Did you claim to be the scum god in reply? Why don't you paraphrase the exchange between yourself instead of brushing it off as a joke?

Do you think that Jack is more or less likely to be town for his stunt?
vote:Lady lamb
Yeah, yeah, reaction fishing, no need to give reasons for your vote in the confirmation/RVS stage (I'm guilty of the same--and no, my vote wasn't totally random), questioning people on fake votes in the confirmation stage is pseudo-scumhunting, etc. But for some reason, this piques my curiosity. The timing seemed to imply something was scummy about LLD's posts. Just a random vote, or something more?

NO. My towndar is near-infallible
as everyone knows
, and I only trust myself. I do not submit to possible scum voting blocks. Furthermore, it's the only useful power I may grant, and I can only grant it every 4 days. So, no.

Fishythefish wrote:

You, in fact, are even more useless than me, if you are town. There is no reason for you to shorten the deadlines unless you are scum. And if you are scum, you might as well claim scum, stick us with impossible deadlines, and laugh as you watch us scramble to lynch townie after townie. The second you shorten a deadline, we'll KNOW you're scum, it's as good as claiming it. So you might as well have fun, unless of course you want to keep the element of surprise; but that will only work on Day 1. After a Day 1 surprise, you'd be confirmed scum.

You can only grant it every 4 days. I should really read those role PMs more carefully.

You have a power which, if wielded properly, benefits the town. If you are scum, it seriously hurts the town if you use it unilaterally. Its target is declared publicly. It seems to me a no-brainer that you should be controlled by the town.

I don't understand why you are making a big deal out of it. I can't even prevent a NK on a townie because the "protect" is a public one, so the scum can mow down some other townie. How could it hurt the town if I use it unilaterally? Even the worse possible scenario that I PUBLICLY protect a scumbag... from a NK... every 4 nights.

Why don't you look for scum instead, this is IIoA.

I'm so glad I missed the whole topic of stats right now.
That said my view is confirmed on what I expected. I really believe if a God is town they should question the heck out of any of their followers and see how they react in the QT and how they behavior there compared to the game.
That is in my view the best way to weed out any scum that may be in your group as well as talking here and looking for scum tells.
